While growing up we always thought boxing day was the day you are free to hit anybody in the face and get away with it. We grew up and that was settled to be the day opening up boxed gifts from Christmas day.

Valentine's day is suffering the highest misconceptions a given day will ever suffer.
1. It is called Saint Valentine's day and not Saint Valentine or just Valentine day. It is so because the day was set aside to celebrate Valentinus, a man who showed love to everybody he came across. He was popular for arranging weddings for soldiers that were denied marriage. He was jailed and was noted for healing his jailers daughter.
2. It was originally a Christian originated event to celebrate the sainted Valentinus. It was not founded in a college hostel.
3. It was required of today that everybody show love to everybody especially enemies, the sick, the less privileged. It was never about your nice red dress and number f gifts you get. Never about your selfies and hashtag. Never about sex and the best night of your life. It was never about us. But like I always say. Lovers community are the most selfish people. They turn everything about them. From Christmas (someone else's birthday) to Valentine to Easther, to all the plenty Muslim "Eid" celebrations. That's sad.

Washington has expressed disappointment on this and putting structures in place with us The #RDCC (Relationship and Dating Crimes Commission) to curb the many excesses staining the saintly image of Saint Valentine.

The Vatican has sent their reactions to the misconceptions assaulting the Saint Valentine's day.

It's now about our own understanding of love which quite selfish. The subject of love drive Nigerian youths especially the girls crazy. It is a country torn apart with several crises, poverty and corruption. That's why religion strives. People need something to hold onto. Hope for messiah. That's why the misconceptions of the Valentine's day happen and big brands and government are making more money. People need to feel love. Feel companion. The need to know that someone can be everything to you. Sex comes after. Subconsciously lol.

All these factors has led Nigerian youths to a hustle and tussle. A rampage and stampede on the very tenets of this day. The result is a total rape of Saint Valentine's memory.

In a not so surprised reaction, Mr Putin rubbished the USA and Vatican as usual and went on a sexy date with wife. They made it clear they are going to enjoy themselves.

They were spotted this evening, leaving a gala and heading to a bouquet.
They came in defence of the average Nigerians... . Nigerians should go out two lovers at a time and have a night of their life. They should be selfish and make the day about them. Celebrate their own by themselves, together, reassuring each other with the hope of a future together. . Celebrate all relationships that has stood the test of time. Tried and trusted. With the way the industry is looking, it's not going to be easy to find people who have been through sweet and bitter times together for a long time. . Bae is bae, Boo is boo. Don't let them bring you down with their own misconceptions that it's okay to enjoy yourself alone at home, sit down and watch Love Don't Cost A Thing again.
