Music/RadioNext Rated Award Projection by bilms(op): 9:13am On Oct 02, 2019
#Afrobeats

This year's next rated award will be very competitive. Fireboy, Zlatan, Rema, Victor AD, Lyta and Joeboy. It's really going to be very tough.

I think the award would be between YBNL's fireboy, Marvin's Rema and Gbe Bodye crooner, Zlatan.

Watin we gain hitmaker, Victor AD, Monalisa crooner, Lyta and Joeboy should be proud of their nomination too.

What do you think?

PoliticsPowerful Message Of Kwara State Governor On Independence Day by bilms(op): 10:18am On Oct 01, 2019
*The powerful message of Kwara State Governor, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman on independence day*

Today’s 59th independence anniversary offers another opportunity for us to celebrate our unity in diversity as a people. It hasn’t really been all rosy but the fact that our country remains one is an achievement on its own.

I join Mr. President and all patriots across the country to call on all Nigerians to embrace one another and build a country where we identify and treat ourselves only as citizens and fellow human beings, and not as Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw, Fulani, Christians, or Muslims. We should work harder to build a nation-state with zero emphasis on these cleavages.

Fellow citizens, 59 year down the road, we should build a country that works for all and not just for the privileged few. This requires that we look at the bigger picture each time we take decisions in our areas of influence. That bigger picture is national unity, national development and collective prosperity where no one is left behind.

On this note, I call on the political class to begin to see things in terms of what benefits the whole community and not what is politically expedient. Election is long over. Whether we belong to the ruling party or to the opposition, we are all confronted with the question of extreme poverty, unemployment, drug abuse, the danger of climate change, crime, and other challenges.

Let us spend the next four years working together to address these salient issues in our various ways. Let there be a consensus to free up funds to develop our state and shun antics that may keep us going round in a circle.

I call for elite consensus to develop our country and our state. We don’t claim to know it all but I can assure you, fellow Kwarans, that we are concerned only about leaving a legacy of equal opportunity, gender parity, youth inclusiveness, and fiscal discipline.

We want to make Kwara competitive and economically viable and that is why we are at the moment trying to fix basic things like roads, healthcare, primary education, women empowerment, and lift as many people as possible out of the poverty bracket.

I wish everyone a Happy Independence Anniversary.

It appeared you didn't follow the matter last year. I think most people didn't believe the story then.

How APC deployed N1.3Billion hush money to stop Hashim, as Fela Durotoye got N750milion to split ANN

It has been exclusively gathered that All Progressive Congress (APC) has infiltrated Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) with the aim of stopping Global Business man and frontline presidential aspirant, Mr. Olawepo Hashim.

Olawepo Hashim who promised to create a $4Trillion economy for Nigeria is seen as a major threat by the rulling party, after the eloquent politician secure endorsement from middle belt leaders and generals led by TY Danjuma.

A source close to the party revealed that, after Hashim got the nod of the middle belt generals last week, the rulling APC felt gittery and moved in quickly to halt his progress.

Information emerged, on how an alleged N1.3billion hush money was deployed by All Progressive Congress (APC) through office of Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo to split Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) on the eve of it's presidential primary, leading to the postponement of the party's convention.

Investigation reveals that, the APC allegedly coordinated the infiltration of ANN, with the hush money to buy off the party through an attempted imposition of one of the lily livered presidential aspirant, Fela Durotoye who will later step down for the rulling APC.

The redeemed church and son of pastor Adeboye also played some part.

It was alleged that, the APC brought in N1billion few weeks to the presidenrial primary, among which N250million was given to the party's chairman, Pastor Dania Emmanuel, a redeemed church pastor and N750million given to Fela Durotoye. The remaining N300million was shared with others who subscribe to the evil plot.

Immediately after receiving the money, Fela started approaching party officials at state level, giving them huge sums of money and promising to buy vehicles for a number of them.

While Fela was busy deceiving his online followers by asking them to donate their hard earmed money to his campaign, he on the other hand received N750 million from the ruling party to compromise ANN's constitution.

The impression given to the Vice president's office and APC was that, with money, ANN could be bought and the leading aspirant, Olawepo Hashim could be stopped.

However, when it was clear that Durotoye doesn't have any clout to win a presidential primary against a formidable Hashim, no matter how much was spent, plan B was activated, using the office of the chairman to perpetrate illegality against the party's constitution, an illegality already countered by the party.

The ANN constitution provides that, atleast 7 days before the primary election, list of delegates and primary modalities shall be made public. However, the chairman refused to do so as stipulated by the constitution. The ANN constitution also provide that, the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) will have to ratify the delegate list and modalities, but the chairman had also refused to convene the NEC meeting for this ratification.

The question then arise, how can a party hold primary election without the aspirants knowing the modalities or the delegates?

Seeing that the laid down procedure of the party has been breached, Olawepo Hashim in a letter to the chairman pulled out of the iĺlegal primary, until the identified breaches are corrected.

While Fela and the party chairman are determined to do the job they were paid for, only 3 state party chairmen attended their kangaroo convention, where Fela was allegedly adopted as the party's candidate.

The remaining chairmen across the federation pitched their tent with the party's constitution. More than 19 state chairmen on Saturday held a press conference to denounce the illegality and fixed Wednesday, 3rd October as the date for presidential primary election.

Further investigation shows that, the chairman of the party, Pastor Dania Emmanuel is currently embroiled in serious problem with his bank accounts and all his bank accounts remained inaccessible.

According to findings, the bank verification number (bvn) has put Dania integrity into further question.

It was gathered that, Dania operated different accounts with different names and date of births. This led to shutting his account by banks.

Even the party's account cannot be signed by him because he has a contradictory date of birth.

The state chairmen and other national executives of the party, including former chairman and current board of trustee chairman, Dr Jay Samuel have fixed Wednesday, 3rd October 2018 for the party's presidential primary election, as they hold NEC meeting on Saturday night.

If you want to know what happened to ANN, look no further. Read the below excerpt from the Guardian on the present travails of the VP:

Guardian: Now having been boxed into a corner, the vice president will begin to confront his travails all alone because Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who should have taken up the fight, allegedly has some misgivings about him too, The Guardian has learned.

It is alleged that Osinbajo, at the height of his efforts to distance his political progression from Tinubu, claimed at one point, “somebody somewhere nominated me as running mate to Buhari.”

Apart from that, sources said it was allegedly the vice president’s covert plot to use the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) as a possible platform for his 2023 presidential ambition that threw some ice on his relationship with the former Lagos State governor.

While the vice president was said to have worked in cahoots with the very cabal that is currently going for his jugular to ensure that ANN was put beyond Mr. Gbenga Olawepo, Tinubu was informed about that scheme.

Moreover, the fact that the sum of N500 million was allegedly moved into ANN’s account from the presidency to engineer the quiet takeover of the party, seemed to have convinced Tinubu that the vice president was not being frank to him.

Bukola Saraki yet to realise why his dynasty failed
By Abdulrazaq Hamzat

HarrySong, a musician once sang, “after the reggae play the blues, the blues, the blues”.

The song signifies that, after a system has outlived its purpose, the wise thing to do is to change style.

But it seems that the Bukola Saraki-led Kwara opposition has not learnt anything from this wise counsel.

This is why I am compelled to throw this light as an unpaid and solicited advisory and advocacy services to the opposition party in Kwara State.

Like the music lyrics had said, after the reggae, when falsehood fails, play the blues, try truth and sincerity.

The governorship election tribunal in Kwara State, yesterday threw out the case of Hon. Razaq Atunwa, the defeated candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 governorship election, against the overwhelming victory of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the otoge political general and the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC).

The outcome of the case is not a surprise to many, because even the blind can see where it was heading from the beginning.

Surprisingly, after the tribunal made its verdict public, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), through its chairman, Engr. Kola Shittu stated that the court judgement is a travesty of justice.

While the state and its people are celebrating the triumph of truth over falsehood, the confused Kwara opposition are mourning their failure to entrench falsehood in place of truth.

This is the same attitude and practices that led to their historic defeat at the 2019 poll.

In March 2018, 70 youth groups, led by Kwara Must Change formed an alliance, with the sole purpose of ending the reign of the previous government of destructive overlord.

The youths at the time, said we are tired of the many lies and falsehood that have become a regular and recurring part of the Saraki political hegemony.

It is important to also note that, one of the major reasons the people of Kwara said otoge to the former dynasty, now opposition, is that they have been too consistent in their fraudulent behaviours and have demonstrated unrivalled determination to mislead the state into eternal ditch, which is apart from the mindless looting and high level of mismanagement.

It was the combination of these atrocities that led to the downfall of the dynasty.

However, after losing the election, rather than apologise to the good people of Kwara State, cleanse and purge itself off all attributes that led to its historic failure, the dynasty, through its political party, the PDP, is still bent on showcasing itself as the legend of falsehood and misinformation.

What this means is that, the opposition has not realised where it failed. It has not realised what brought a 40 year-old dynasty down.

Let it be on the record that, when the confused opposition in Kwara State are bent on setting themselves ablaze with falsehood, we quenched the blazing fire with truth, by calling them to the genuine path, where they can seek forgiveness and start afresh. We called them to a genuine path where falsehood and misinformation are anathema, where all the opposition party needs to do is to simply seek for penance and genuine reconciliation with the people of the state whose psyche has been brutalized, people whose destinies have been toyed with and their future callously mortgaged on the altar of wicked political exigencies.

*Sowore is an asset to Nigeria says Kwara Must Change*

_Urges FG to drop treasonable charges_

A leading pro democracy group in Kwara state, Kwara Must Change has called on the federal government of Nigeria to drop treasonable charges against the founder of Sahara Reporter and convener of RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore.

The group also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to use the current challenge as a stepping stone to connect and engage the teeming young Nigerians who share similar radical political ideology like Sowore.

In a statement by convener of Kwara Must Change, Abdulrazaq Hamzat, the group stated that, President Buhari should be worried that under his administration, considerable number of progressive youths in the country are leaning towards radical political ideology in their quest to get a working Nigeria.

Hamzat explained that, young people who have radical political ideas are not a threat to any government, but instead, are more like an asset, that if properly engaged and given right atmosphere to harness their potentials could bring renewed hope and positive energy to the country.

Hamzat maintained, only renewed hope and positive energy can lead Nigeria to the path of prosperity.

According to him, there are many Sowore's out there who are desperate to have a better Nigeria.

"Many young people do not even mind being imprisoned, if it would get us closer to making Nigeria better".

However, because federal government is too distant from the people, and government agencies, such as National Orientation Agency, which is saddled with the responsibility of constantly engaging the people are virtually none existent, government also do not understand the youths.

Hamzat therefore maintained that, while Sowore and other courageous comrades are transforming their anger into a motivation for positive action such as protest, there are millions of others who share similar radical ideas but are likely going to use it for negative purposes.

Mr Hamzat advised that, President Buhari should utilize the opportunity provided by this Sowore's saga to truly engage the people, rather than toe the line of forceful suppression.

"Rather than indiscriminate arrest and incarceration, government should take their criticism as a call to action to do more. He said.

Kwara Must Change also urges the federal government to drop the treasonable charges against Sowore, and use the opportunity to engage the youths of Nigeria, with the aim of trying to understand them and respond to some of the critical issues of concerns to them.

Kwara State Governor and his 26 years old commissioner

By Abdulrazaq Hamzat

At the age of 22, Shamma Al-Mazrui was appointed as a Minister at the United Arabs Emirate (UAE) in Feb. 2016, making her the youngest member of the UAE Cabinet.

At the time of her appointment 3 years ago, she's 4years younger than Joana Kolo, a 26 years old commissioner nominee by the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

Today, Shama is 25years old and one of the most active ministers in the UAE.

In Australia however, the youngest minister is Wyatt Roy, who was only 25years old, when he was appointed.

Unlike Shama, who is currently serving in a youth focused ministry as minister of youth in UAE, Roy on the other hand is heading one of the most powerful ministries in Australia, as the minister of innovation.

These are examples of young people without experience, doing greatly when given leadership responsibility.

Few days ago, the progressive Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq also nominated a 26years lady, Joana Kolo as a commissioner in the state, throwing young people across Kwara into wild jubilation.

Many are excited and are celebrating, because for the first time in a long time, Kwara State now have a governor who not only value young people genuinely, but will also fulfil all promises made to them during the electioneering campaign.

By nominating Joana to serve as a commissioner in Kwara State, Governor Abdulrahman is simply fulfilling his promise of making his administration youth driven.

It should be recalled that during the electioneering, Governor Abdulrahman repeatedly promised the young people of Kwara State that his government would give priority to youths and even after assuming office as governor on may 29, he repeatedly re-echoed the promise, signifying his determination to fulfil it.

Like a man, whose words can be taken to the bank for cash, Governor Abdulrahman has fulfilled another of his promises by nominating a youth, in the real sense of it as a commissioner.

However, there are people not happy with this development.

It has been observed that some political players in the state are raising concerns about the nomination of this young lady as a commissioner. Their argument is that, she is too young and too inexperienced to bring any value to the government.

While their concerns is worthy of note, i think it is not appropriate to conclude on a person, before knowing the person.

The real question we should be asking is that, what is wrong with nominating a 26years old commissioner? Is there really anything wrong with that? Does she not meet the required academic qualification? Is there any law that has been violated as a result of her nomination? So, what exactly is wrong with her nomination?

I am of the view that, those who have already marked Joana's script, even before she enters the exam hall are doing so for their own reasons, not necessarily out of concerns for the state.

Their opinion about her is of no value because the governor who nominated her knows the value she is bringing to his government.

Whether or not, she can perform, will only be tested after she has been given a chance, which the governor has rightly given her.

It is also important to note that, the will of a man, will always make a way for him.

The determination to succeed supersedes all ages and experiences and Joana's young age, and perceived inexperience are not a minus, if she's prepared to succeed.

So, let me conclude that, if Jean Claude Duvalier can become the president of Haiti at the age of 19 and succeed, if Valentine Strasser can become the president of Sierra Leone at the age of 25 and succeed, if Michel Micombero can lead Burundi successfully at the age of 25, certainly, Joana Kolo can aswell succeed as a commissioner in Kwara, if given the required support.

*Governor Abdulrahman has undo the marginalization of women with commissioners list, says Kwara Must Change*

_Urges nominees to justify Governor's confidence_

The leading pro-democracy group in Kwara State, Kwara Must Change has congratulated all commissioner nominees in Kwara state for their nomination.

The group also salute Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for nominating women, in an attempt to undo the perceived marginalization of women during the last electioneering period.

In a statement issued by the women leader of Kwara Must Change (Women Wing) Mopelola AbdulMalik, the group stated that, sending only names of women as commissioner nominees to the Kwara State House of Assembly is a sign of respect for women, and an attempt to undo the marginalization of women, which the group had also complained about during its Kwara Women Summit.

According to Mopelola, the nomination of only women in this first batch of nomination indicates that the governor is responsive to the yearning of Kwara women.

She noted that "even though we are aware that more names would be sent later, we believe that by sending the names of women first, the governor is simply reassuring Kwara women of their dignified position in the state and we are very grateful for this".

While praying for the Almighty to guide the nominees in the task ahead, Mopelola also tasked them to justify Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's confidence in their ability by living up to public expectations in service delivery.
