How far will Mobil rally?

Honestly, Mr. market is just unpredictable...How would you explain the bull ride on Mobil after release of result and bear attack on Total? Despite a better and quality earning of the later than the former...Isokay

#I tire for this market
Who is bull riding Mobil? Lost 5% already.
Although their result was not bad either. But understand that people will buy stock of their preferred company, irrespective of their competitors performance.

What they mean is 800 kobo will be paid for every 50 kobo ordinary shares held by shareholders.

50 kobo is the official nominal value of tier 1 company shares listed in the NSE.

It is not different from what you have always known it to mean. It's just a proper or more officially detailed way of reporting it.
Thanks boss

Mobil result looks good

But what do they mean by "A final dividend of 800k per 50k share held has been proposed"?

Sir, your point is well noted. All the developed countries I know of don't defend their currency by pegging it. They intervened in their forex market when their reserves is questioned. Anyway, that's a topic for another day. And u think CBN is independent body in Nigeria in terms of their decision making. Let's wait and see if CBN will completely win this war in the next 2-3 months? Don't forget Dangote refinery is not our solution to forex market. Some people are busy loading $$$$ at the moment because they might be able to see what me and you don't see...lol. In all, all the best sir!
Firstly, Nigeria is a developing nation. Countries will always defend their currency in desperate times and when they have the means to.
Russia stop intervening in late 2014 and the ruble jump to 81 rub to a dollar in 2 days. They have to stylishly re-enter the market. Now ruble is 57 to dollar. Mind you, before the oil price crash, ruble was 29. And this is a country that is the second largest exporter of arm and ammunition behind the united states.

Dangote refinery will not solve our FX problem, but anything that will reduce the pressure on FX is a plus.
Petrol, Rice, Frozen fish and meat. If we can stroke 2 out from these list or reduce our import dependency on these commodities (especially petrol and rice), the demands for FX will be greatly reduced and which in turn will reduce scarcity.

Big Northern speculators are offloading their $$$ in millions of dollars, those that have less than $20k want to sleep top of it, because they are seeing what either of us can not see.

Like you said, let's wait I see.

I fault your sense of reasoning. There is no country that has successfully defended its currency and won. For instance, russia, saudi arabia, venezuela, argentina tried it and failed woefully...Until CBN faces reality and do the needful, its just a matter of time before the trend reverses and speculators will continue to win grin
.....Russia still do periodic intervention in their currency market. All the country you listed with the exemption of Argentina are oil dependent. The were unable to continue because of crash in oil price. Where do you expect them to get FX when they dont export much outside oil. Now, they understand there is need to reduce dependency and diversify.

The bolded was the cause of our economic problem.
Now that they have some dollars to support the naira let them continue because it has always been like that. Hopefully when the economic recovery plans on ground begin to yield fruit, our dependence on oil will be minimal. With dangote refinery coming on board, there is hope for Nigeria.
The speculators may not win this time.
Nigeria 1 - 0 Speculators.

The octopus, I heard the dollar is now 380! Time to buy more.
Bro let them continue to pretend like they are not aware CBN has been defending the Naira since time immemorial.

Even bigger economy like Russia, China, Israel support their currency from time to time by pumping. Na today day break for some people eye. cheesy grin

edit: Another positive in the recovery process worthy of mention, is that we're becoming rice sufficient. You don't need to be told how much pressure rice importation put in our FX

Fundamentally, Larfarge is still a stock selling far below its true value. I can say the giant is gradually recovering and ready to take back its market leadership position from dangote cement. With the return to profitability, peace in the niger delta and sustained oil price rally, the terrible days of the company are over. Anyone buying now should quickly do so because its going to be expensive before end of Q3- 2017.

Disclosure: Yours truly have substantial interest in this company. DD is duly advised.
Broda, no need to waste your energy.
People that understand are already lining up.

Stock that was on full offer for the past 5 days when investors where still expecting result.
See the way they are turning up @40

That's a good news sir. Shouldn't you be more concern that the forex market in Nigeria isn't transparent? Why CBN is the only supplier in that market should be a major concern to you and the country as a whole? In all, all the best!
So you expect an import dependent nation to turnover overnight? We have being this way for ages, the collapse of oil price made it obvious for all to see.

While the government is waking up to the reality and working towards making the necessary adjustments, they will not just sit and fold their hands and watch greedy few opportunist continue to take advantage of the situation at the expense of others. If they have the means, let them continue to pump and frustrate the hoarder.

Like I said before, oil stays above 50 and Naira will continue to appreciate

Dollar now 400.
CBN is winning the war. Show them who have more cash to spend.
As long as they can sustain reserve above 30b, speculators will continue to cry.

Soon 375, same amount banks sell for tuition and PTA.

Just walk into any bank branch you have an account with and ask them that you WANT to complete your e-dividend form for UBA.
they will print it for you. You will fill the required info and attach your passport and give it back to them for further processing with UBA registrar.
When done, ALL unclaimed dividend will flow into your bank account.
Thanks boos!
