It's no news that the Power distribution companies are doing everything necessary to have most Nigerians move to prepared meter, which is the standard way of any developed countries,
I totally stand against energy theft because it's no way going to move the sector further, come to think of it; it's only gas energy generation model that Nigeria is still using, many countries like China, Saudi Arabia, Zambia etc have opted to turbine, solar, rice husks, etc, to make power available and competitive in the sector.

The agitation of AEDC In Abuja for people to move to prepared metering, has been a burgeoning news. ....


Now after applying for the meter, it takes time to get it, most times they will ask you for tip if you want it faster, no problem to that,

Issues; if your meter has previous units they will ask you to apply for it to be transferred to your new meter, bet me you will wait for ages to see it in your meter.

Integrity of the process;
After I purchased my meter several months, which I have reduced my power consumption,
Just few days I loaded and discovered that I was owing AEDC, woops . Just got to the office to find out if it's system error, I was shown that my meter is owing #140.000 naira, how? That am not loading enough. And I have to clear the debt if I want light.

Pls professionals should pls explain this kind of exploitation. How can a reading meter owe because am not loading #50.000 -150.000 monthly.

I have never seen or heard such in any country.

What is happening?
