TravelRe: Nigeria Immigration Deports 25 Chinese With Irregular Residential Permits by Bisijohn: 2:08pm On Dec 01, 2011
It is simply because those ones deported couldn't bribe the NIS official. I strongly believe that they don't even have the data of illegal immigrants in Nigeria. Corruption is the eaten us up deeply in Nigeria. In Ghana, as I learnt, as soon as a foreign nationale is employed to do a job, a local employee will be employed alongside to understudy such-for knowledge transfer because he/she has minimum number of months he/she can work there.

PoliticsRe: Niger Republic Opens New Refinery - Very Close To Nigeria’s Border by Bisijohn: 10:29am On Nov 29, 2011
Sometimes, I laugh when we call ourselves,"giant of Africa". We are "giant" indeed! Everyother nation is advancing and developing but rather we are retrogressing in development. Well, I must congratulate Niger republic for their pragmatic approach in resolving their fuel importation by building a new refinery, which seems impossible in Nigeria because of greed and selfishness. I hope very soon , Nigeria can begin importation of refined fuel from Niger.

PoliticsRe: Why Do Nigerians In Diaspora Refer To Nigeria As Africa? by Bisijohn: 6:11am On Nov 26, 2011
Sincerely, it is not everybody that knows where Nigeria is. The best thing i do say is: '' I'm from Nigeria, in Africa''. It makes sense that way. They know Africa as a continent. Even some Africa countries are more popular than Nigeria in the diaspora e.g SA,Kenya and Ghana. There are instances where the only describe Nigeria is to mention the country of Mikel Obi Chelsea footballer and Kanu etc.

Christianity EtcRe: I Am Tired Of Going To Church by Bisijohn: 2:50pm On Nov 11, 2011
You can't find a perfect denomination, however, you can still belong to some denomination that will teach you the gospel truth, and prepare you for heaven. Christ is coming for a church without spot or wrinkle. The 'church' is not the building but individuals who have been washed in the blood of the lamb. The bible teaches us not to forsake the assembly of ourselves as the manner of some is. Fellowship and worship of God is very important, for this purpose we were created to show forth the praises of God. God wants us to worship Him in truth and Spirit.

If you say you want to stay away from gathering of people of God, you are not helping yourself. You will soon quit the faith. Iron sharpens iron. Prayerfully seek for a bible believing church, where truth will be preached. But staying away from the church in the name of seeking for a perfect church, it is like going to fetch the whole water of the sea with a basket. Jesus during his earthly ministry still went to synagogue and taught there. You too you can correct any anomaly wherever you are. God bless you.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Kills Police Inspector In Maiduguri by Bisijohn: 11:45am On Nov 07, 2011
Nigerians, let us seek the face of the LORD in 7 days fasting and prayers for our dear nation. I trust God He will show mercy upon our land. We should ask for God's mercy upon our land, forgiveness our sins that is hurting us now, killing of innocent lives, corruption in every areas, rituals,do or die politics introduced by our leaders etc. Let us all pray for God to heal our land. God will show mercy. This can't continue. Enough is enough!
PoliticsRe: Bomb Attacks Possible In Abuja This Week - US Embassy by Bisijohn: 11:33am On Nov 07, 2011
It is high time the President convened a sovereign national conference. We should discuss our differences and chart the way forward for continuity as a Nation. I hope the President will take the bull by the horn and urgently convene the conference. Our President life is not even safe, because nobody knows where the next bomb will explode.
PoliticsRe: Olusegun Obasanjo. Like Or Loathe Him, Is The Greatest Living Nigerian. by Bisijohn: 6:30am On Nov 05, 2011
I give it to Obasanjo. He deregulated Telecoms sector;and made tecommunication accessible to commoners. He established EFCC, and ICPC. He put an end to fuel scarcity and also stablised the millitary.

He failed to allow Nigerians to decide who should lead them;but instead introduced "do or die politics".
Car TalkRe: What Kind Of Car Is Good For A First Time Buyer? by Bisijohn: 1:57pm On Oct 31, 2011
@ Andrew,

Do you think everybody has a dubious mind like you? It is either you were not trained or you refused to take training. How on earth will you call someone you don't know a thief? Who is a thief between you and I? You that  suggested that someone should go to Cotonou with 350k to buy Golf 3. Anyway, your type is well known, maybe you just stole one that you want to sell.

The person that one to sell, has 3 personal cars, and this is the least of them. He is not an hungry person, and not deperate of selling, so as to suggest 350k. Go and check out u can get tokunbo less than 850k. It was bought 900k,and used less than 1 yr. so what rubbish advice are you giving? What do you even know about car?
PhonesRe: Difference Between GPRS And EDGE by Bisijohn: 1:17pm On Oct 31, 2011
The difference btween the three is just the speed. In a layman language,It is like comparing, a  Moto cycle, a car and a Aeroplane. GPRS can only do between 56kb/s and 114kb/s as in the rate of data transfer. EDGE is an enhacement over GPRS,it can do almost 4 times of GPRS, btween 238-473kbit/s  approximately. And then 3G is the fastest, it can do up to 2Mbit/s. I hope this helps a little?
Car TalkRe: What Kind Of Car Is Good For A First Time Buyer? by Bisijohn: 12:45pm On Oct 31, 2011
@Poster,

It depends on what you want. Golf 3 is very reliable, economical and easy to maintain, likewise, Toyota cars.

If don't mind of going for a manual Golf, I have one that I want to sell. You can drop me your e-maill address so that i can forward you the pictures. It was used briefly by a woman. It is a clean car anyway. The price is also reasonable -N550K last.
TravelRe: Nigerians Should Also Look At Australia by Bisijohn: 10:39am On Oct 26, 2011
Hi All,

I'm looking forward to see as many qualify and genuine Nigerians here in Aussie. Let's endeavour to share information, and also network, particularly to genuine people.

There are many jobs here in different fields (check www.seek.com.au) but work permit is the main thing. If you won't mind, you can apply for a PR,although, it may take a while, but definitely you will get it.You do not need visa interview before your visa is granted; make sure you submit genuine papers. I apply for working visa for my visa, she got the visa 8 days after lodgement.

I see alot of Asians here because they shared information I guess. Personally, I have suggested links to people and recommended some for possible jobs, in my field-ICT; and this is yielding positively. Although, it is only those that I can vouch for.

The weather here is normal, just like Nigeria weather. There is this misconception, that the weather is too harsh. It is a false impression. There is highlevel of security. you won't have choice than to be law abiding.

Nigerians here have a different mentality; and I'm very proud of them. If we could just be as transparent like that back in Nigeria, our country will be a better place. They are very law abiding. You must obey law religiously here because there are heavy penalties.
Foreign AffairsRe: Gadhafi Captured? On CNN (Pictures) by Bisijohn: 9:36pm On Oct 20, 2011
I hope our illiterate friends up North will not go around protesting the demise of Ghadaffi by killing innocent lives. Nobody arrogates the power of God to himself and die a peaceful death. They called him king of kings and he was comfortable with that name.

BusinessRe: How Much Did You Exchange The Dollar For Today? by Bisijohn: 10:01am On Oct 15, 2011
The trend will continue until drastic measure is taken by the Government. Nigeria imports almost anything you can talk of, even tooth pick; how will naira not fall against dollar? We import refined fuel.
Honestly, we need to develop other sector of the economy, like Mining,Agriculture,Manufacturing industries and Tourism, all these have great potentials to turn our economy around. Likewise, government should encourage patronage of locally made goods, and ensure quality of products produced by our local industries.

Here in Australia, they only have mineral resources and agricultural products, yet their economy is sound, Australia dollar is even stronger than US dollar at the moment. May God help us .

TravelRe: Where Are Nigerians In Australia . by Bisijohn: 2:27pm On Oct 09, 2011
Hi,

I live and work in Sydney. Although, i'm less than 2 months here now, but I hardly see Nigerians in Sydney, apart from the few people I do see in the church only on Sunday. Are there not so many Nigerians here?

I'm on a temporary long stay visa-457 subclass. Does anyone know what it entails to convert to PR?

My advice to as many that intend to come to Australia, prepare your mind to obey their laws to the letter. If you are caught violating any of thier laws, you will be heavily penalised. Also, if you want to subcribe into any of their service e.g Phone plan, please as enough questions, so that you will not run into problem eventually.

I will appreciate response to my questions.
