In what seems to be a brewing crisis, the indigenes of Ijeshaland both home and abroad want the government to wade-in and nip issues in Ijeshaland in the bud before it escalates into a full blown menace.

In an exclusive interview with HRH Dr Oyekanmi Ogedengbe obanla of Ijeshaland, and the vice chairman, Ijesha traditional council, he made several expository revelation about happenings in Ijeshaland.

Amongst the several issues was what he described as the Owa-obokun's (the Paramount ruler, Adimula Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II) sheer arrogance, pride and blatant disregard for government institution.

During the interview, Obanla of Ijeshaland insists that Ijeshaland may not witness any meaningful progress except the Owa-obokun is called to order. He said the Owa-obokun's unruly behavior seems to be beyond government's control.

According to Obanla, "Owa-obokun says he is above the government and when Rauf Aregbesola instituted a panel of enquiry to torch on several issues pertaining to the complaints, traditional stool's anomalies and various misdemeanors of Owa-obokun, he boastfully proclaimed that the report will never see the light of the day and that was exactly what happened. He also setup the 'Alaye of Ijeshaland' to be beaten up when he spoke up on what the ancestral kindred spirits warned about Ijeshaland.

His Royal Highness, Dr. Oyekanmi Ogedengbe alarmed that the Owa-obokun needs to play a responsible leadership role in uniting all Ijesha indigenes for progress rather than champion an anti-progress agenda.

Attempts to reach the Owa-obokun for his side of the story proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.

Tunde Biletiri has cried out from detention where he has been kept for over 70 days over issues he had with some persons.

Federal Government, Nasarawa State Government disburse loans To 500 Women

The Federal Government in collaboration with the Nasarawa State Government, has disbursed loans to 500 women and youths under the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme (MEES) in the state.
The loans were disbursed to the beneficiaries by the Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdulkadir A. Sule, in company of the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, at the Nasarawa State Government House, Lafia.

The Minister of State said the empowerment programme was in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s concern about the poor and the less privileged, and the need to improve their economic status.
Keyamo said that in addition to the disbursement of loans to 500 women and youths, the Federal Government has plans to train 50 persons each from all the local government areas in the state on special skills as part of efforts to lift the people out of poverty.

Speaking, the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr Abdullahi A. Sule, thanked the Federal Government for coming to their aid to support the people of State with empowerment programmes. “The amount may not mean a lot to some people but it means a lot to majority of the beneficiaries because that is the working capital they need”, he said.
He thanked the Minister of State for Labour and Employment for the additional 50 beneficiaries that would not only be trained but will be given the tools to work with. “They will have training, tools and support to be out of poverty. During the selection, we will be honest to select those that are truly in need so that they can benefit maximally from it.

The Governor then donated 304 hectares of land to the National Directorate of Employment for Vocational and Agricultural Training Centre in Nasarawa State.
Earlier, the Director-General, National Directorate of Employment, Dr Nasir Mohammed Ladan Argungu, said that as part of its mandate, the Directorate run skill acquisition programmes aimed at creating employment through entrepreneur skills development.

“Our aim is to ensure that the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) of Mr. President, and his promise to Nigerians to take out 100million Nigerians out of poverty in the next ten years becomes a reality”.
He thanked the State Government for providing land to NDE to build its permanent office in the state.

He said that the event was to flag off MEES to 500 beneficiaries from Nasarawa State adding that the disbursement of the loans was on its first phase, and more were in the pipeline.

It was a star studded event at the prestigious Hilton Hotel, Abuja as The Enemy I know,’ a N150m budgeted movie produced by Rita Daniels premiered yesterday.

The event which witnessed a surge of crowd was attended by arrays of celebs such as Reginal Daniel, ken Eric’s, Juliet Ibrahim, Tana Adelana, Bob Manuel, Brody Shaggi, Faze,Zik Zulu, Toyin Lawani, Francis Duru, Mamuze twins amongs others.



The producer and director of the film at the movie premiere which was powered by Billionaire Business Man and Philanthropist,Prince Ned Nwoko revealed that the movie advocates for the rights of the girl-child, gender equality and women empowerment.

KEYSTONE BANK IN FRESH TROUBLE: TO PAY CHINESE FIRM $778,118.72 OVER BREACH OF CONTRACT

A Federal high court sitting in Lagos south west Nigeria has ordered Keystone Bank Limited to pay a Chinese company Hexing Electrical company damages in the sum of $778,118.72 over a breach of contract.
The judgement of the court was sequel to a suit filed before the court against Keystone Bank Limited, Chris International Agencies company and Central bank of Nigeria as defendants, claiming the sum of $778,118.72 being the total outstanding sum of the money due and payable under the irrevocable letter of credit issued by the bank sometime in September, 2015. to the Chinese company.
Keystone bank on 16th of September, 2015 issued letter of credit in favour of Hexing Electrical company limited, a company registered under the laws of the Peoples Republic of China in the sum of $1,134,545, subject to the provisions of uniform custom and practice for documentary credit.
The bank paid $336,421.28 in varying installments to the company, however despite all demands for the payment of the balance of $798,108.70 the bank refused, the bank only paid additional $20,000,
Consequently the company petitioned Central bank of Nigeria,thereafter the company instituted this suit against the bank and two others.
The case of the third defendant Chris International Agencies was that by memorandum of understanding with Hexing Electrical, they form a consortium known as Chris Ejike Hexing consortium for the purpose of carrying on the business of production, supply and installation of meters in Nigeria, the company entered into a supply and installation agreement with the Enugu Electricity Distribution company, for the supply and installation of indoor, ring type meters with sealable terminal cover.
According to Chris International Agencies company the total value of the contract was N485,587,958.10, that the Hexing Electrical company was to manufacture the meters and in accordance with the specification agreed with Enugu Electrical Distribution Company, that it was for this purpose that the Chris international Agencies took letter of credit with Keystone bank in favour of Hexing Electrical Company, which Keystone bank had paid part of the sum $356,421.28 that Hexing Electrical company did not manufacture the meters according to specification and the contract was subsequently terminated by Enugu Electrical Distribution Company.
Chris International Agencies alleged that Hexing Electrical company perpetrated fraud deliberately and as a such not entitled to further payment on the letter of credit.
At the hearing of the case Keystone bank did not file any counter affidavit, its lawyer said the bank will abide by whatever decision the court takes.
In his judgement the presiding Judge Nicholas Oweibo ,said the bank did not deny the existence of contract between it and the Hexing Electrical company, the company has through its affidavit in support shown that the bank failed to completely honour its own part of the contract. The evidence has indeed established that Keystone bank is in breach of its contract with the company.
“Considering the above I am of the view that Keystone is in breach of the contract it had with Hexing Electrical company. It has been established that the bank had kept in its custody the sum claimed contrary to the terms of the letter of Credit even after the company had accepted to receive naira equivalent. In the circumstances the company is entitled to 10% interest per annum on the judgement sum of $778,118.72 from the day of judgement until liquidation of the judgement sum.
The complaint of fraud in this case is not in respect of the documentation of the letter of credit. The fraud complaint of is with respect to the goods:that the plaintiff did not meet the specification.
In the light of the above I enter judgment for the plaintiff and grant its prayers by ordering that Keystone bank pay damages to Hexing Electrical company limited in the sum of $778,118.72 being the money due and payable under the irrevocable letter of credit, an order that the bank pay the company interest at the rate of 10% per annum from the date of judgement until the liquidation of the judgement debt.”

I set up the dance school on the 6th of February,2017.

I set it up because I discovered that the 1 hr schools allocated for it as extra curriculum activity wasn't enough. I discovered that the children weren't getting enough . It's not just a dance ,it's also educational . And they weren't getting the educational part of it because of the short time given to it by the school(s).
So,I have the urge to bring out the best in every child through ballet,I want them to be distinguished through the dance called Ballet,I want to help in their development by making them stand tall wherever they find themselves.

HOW WILL YOU DESCRIBE THE EXPERIENCE SINCE YOU SET IT UP?

Yes,I will say it's been a great experience.
One of the most important lessons being a dance instructor has taught me is that if you worked hard,practiced hard,and gave it your all,the satisfaction of performing at the BEST of your ability is more valuable than any number of first place trophies .
Another experience is that,being a dance instructor,has taught me is to be disciplined and have self control. How to tolerate people and manage people .
TO EVERY GLORY IS A STORY TO TELL, WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES AND HOW HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO OVERCOME THEM?

Hmmmmmm! One of the utmost challenges,was that of acceptance. It took some people time to accept the dream,and even when they did,it's in doubt.
The challenge of getting people to bring their children to the dance school and the challenge of space .

I have been able to overcome them,which I am still overcoming by not Giving Up.

Following social media reports about a Sierra Leonean government official, who was reportedly ‘sacked’ after her testimony at Synagogue Church of All Natios (SCOAN) the church’s founder, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua has released a video of the lady’s controversial testimony for the sake of clearity.

Mrs Fatmata Edna Kargbo, the Chief Protocol Officer of President Julius Maada Bio, whose testimony of ‘God’s blessings in her life’ after visiting Joshua’s church in Lagos, Nigeria, and which was reported in international media, sparked off public concern in Sierra Leone.

According to social media reports, Kargbo was invited for questioning by the nation’s anti-corruption agency after insinuations were rife at the speed of her apparent rise in wealth.

However, Emmanuel TV, SCOAN’s official television channel, released the video of Kargbo’s actual testimony, which she shared on Sunday 21stJuly 2019.

According to Kargbo, after visiting The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) – “the house I constructed for 10 years without finishing – in exactly 14 years, I was able to complete it through the grace of God!”

“This contradicts the narrative implied by most media reports that the Sierra Leonean politician amassed excessive finances within the short timeframe of her appointment as Bio’s Chief Protocol Officer in April 2018,” the television Channel pointed out.

The clip released on Emmanuel TV also paints Kargbo as a patriotic figure who championed the cause of her nation during the deadly Ebola outbreak in the nation in 2014.

“A letter from then President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma to Joshua, requesting his assistance in the nation to battle the deadly virus, is revealed, alongside a donation of $50,000 to Sierra Leone and 4,000 bottles of ‘Anointing Water’ to help curb the spread of the disease.

“Kargbo reveals she personally received the gifts from Joshua – which were sent in a private jet chartered to the tune of $50,000 – and ensured they reached the affected areas, claiming that the regions where the ‘water’ reached were later declared Ebola free,” Emmanuel TV further revealed.
