If any of your parents is still alive as at the time you are preparing your will remember them in your will as you never can tell whether they will outlive you or not! Nothing is guaranteed in life; not even the expectation of outliving your parents! Your parent's share in the will could go to your siblings (or their children) if the parent eventually die.

In response to your first question, if your parent is already stupendously rich, far richer than you and obviously doesn't need anything from you it could be understandable if your don't include them in your will. But what about your other family members who have been helpful to you and who may have been struggling?
