This thread is a documentation of my journey towards creating for myself a car audio experience that would rival the sound quality of any good home HI-fi entertainment system. And when I talk about sound quality I don’t mean LOUD screeching noise that passes as music from stock setups or most Chinese contraptions sold as DVD players cum Nav systems down here. I mean clear, crisp , rich, high fidelity audio with the right texture and complete audio spectrum catered for. (Highs, mids, lows) etc. For some people the audio quality from stock setups or most of the common DVD player replacements is satisfactory. But for an audiophile like me or anyone who is accustomed to and appreciates “High quality” audio at home or on the go. These upgrades are an absolute necessity. I hope this thread helps people with similar taste who are unaware of excellent options and possibilities. I come from listening to audio brands like sennheiser , shure, vsonic , I knew I couldn’t stand the stock setup in my Car and I never even bothered to turn it on from the day I bought the vehicle till date. I didn’t even input the unlock code. My Upgrade progressed in the following stages: Stage 1-Head Unit Upgrade Stage 2-Subwoofer installation Stage 3-front speaker upgrade Stage 4 -Sound deadening (of doors and door panels) I will be detailing the process with links, information and pictures of the equipment purchased( speakers, stereo set, subwoofer, sound deadening material) tools used in each stage of this D-I-Y installation; The importance or impact of each stage, as well as the challenges encountered and the methods I employed to surmount them. This Might appear to be plenty wahala and money, on a basic 2nd Gen Ex CR-V . But every time i turn the ignition and the music comes alive...I smile. I also made the installation such that all the upgrades with the exception of the sound deadening material are easily transferable to a future new vehicle without altering any of the stock wires (no chopped cables, no join-join just adapters and harnesses). and stock setup can be easily restored 100% to original condition , ........contd |
tumababa:finally got a refund after calling |
tumababa:On a very major scale |
3RNEST:If I may ask, did you read Scam anywhere in my post. Don't quote me if you don't have any meaningful input |
DoyenExchange:You're such an arrogant pr!ck. Which 11pm. I paid you at exactly 8.41pm, From where you posted me to 11 pm and then refused to pick up after your 11 pm promised delivery time elapsed. And in all the interaction you neither apologised for the delays nor bothered to even provide a reason for your inability to deliver. Do you even consider that your timeline might be different from others' ? There is a thing called urgency. I sent money to you first without worrying abt an escrow or any of that, despite not having any prior dealings with you. It's called trust. I study people's activities here before i engage them and you just totally disappointed. I asked you repeatedly and you affirmed you had the funds in hand, but here we are. If you had sent your funds first and didn't receive your payment in 10 mins you would have bombarded my phone with calls and screamed scam!!, let alone 12 hrs without an apology or explanation. Get your act together. |
mavinc4u:You're a gem!! Thank you for this post. Didn't even know they had a live chat. This is the most efficient way of productively interacting with these folks. Instead of waiting endlessly for email replies. A $500 physical card I redeemed coupla days back got locked and i didn't even get a notification to that effect, I just logged-in to redeem a card yesterday and I saw that an earlier order required a payment revision. I was puzzled. I even thought it was probably one of the $100 ecodes I had also earlier applied. It wasn't until I went through my giftcard history that I was able to isolate that particular card that was pending/locked. I no understand amazon way again |
DoyenExchange:You are fvcking unbelievable. Deal with this dude at your own risk. Of all the currency exchangers on this forum I have had the worst experience with you. 12 hrs after paying this unapologetic dude for just $70 Paypal he is yet to transfer the funds nor refund my payment. And you're here advertising for $1,000 . What irks me the most is the id!ot acts like he's doing me a favour, and isn't even providing an explanation for the continued delay. How can your receive payment for a thing, and for hours you are unable to deliver despite repeatedly affirming that you have the funds in hand. Just wasted my time when the are people with better rates readily selling. |

greenhulk:You're right. I Guess it's a matter of choice. I'm pretty heavy-handed. I need something i can throw arnd without worrying about damage. Try taking the pressure of the same tire multiple times at abt 30s interval, and see if you get the same reading . |
greenhulk:I hate to have to say this but... Most of these digital guages you see on konga & co are crap. They either don't last that long or thier readings start to become in-accurate after a short period. Mechanical guages are still one of the best out there. As long as you get a very good brand. Did some research before i got mine, and what i found to be currently the best or one of the best rated, is mechanical too. The reviews are excellent everywhere, even on amazon. http://mycarneedsthis.com/todays-best-tire-pressure-gauges-to-have/ https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00XPL88NC/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1499380840&sr=8-2-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=tiretek+tire+pressure+gauge&psc=1 Getting a very "SOLID" digital guage for $10 ? Highly unlikely, even abroad. This even has a bleed button , that allows you to more accurately reduce your tire pressure (while watching the dial) without removing the guage.
|
Valvin:There is no "Normal" guage. The max pressure differs from tire to tire. Just read the information on the outer walls of your tire and conform accordingly. For instance , The rear tires on my SUV have a 51psi max inflation pressure rating. |
GAZZUZZ:I thought NSK was the dealie |
apexquest:@ bolded....Major attraction!!. I'm a sucker for perfection, and i like to see people who reflect that |
$150 AGC needed , quick purchase. Quote Me if available. |
Anker provides one of the best if not the best mobile power solutions in the world From chargers, to cables, to power banks. Do some real research!! All this xiaomi , tecno, new age and all what not wey una dey call are "mass produced contraptions" in comparison. You need to have a taste of quality to know what you're missing out on. Besides, what exactly are the indices for rating or measuring quality, ....Market popularity?? Some people ( tech reviewers) actually take time to do comparisons based on carrying out tests in controlled environments, and not just what they "think" |
