Congrats dear. You trully came saw and conquered. Iv been looking for a dr that does Vbac in houston area. luckily this particular dr does it. I'm a December mum looking forward to seeing him this month. Was this all you spent for the whole dr and hospital fee? Thanks awaiting your reply Toks07: Congratulations @olokings @gaggle @shawlar @ bestsnews.
To God be the glory, I had my gorgeous, oyinbo princess on 12th of sept at houston northwest medical centre via Cs. Had a wonderful experience. My Dr was Dr ikeda Marcos. He is young and very friendly and very easy to talk to. I enjoyed all the freebies and their pain control was good. They have a mother and baby package called miracle moment.
Hospital bill Vaginal delivery 2 day - 2,000 Cs. 3 day - 3,500 ( was discharge on day 2 so I paid 3,000) Anaesthesia - 750 The package includes blood work for mother and child during delivery and after. Dr's fee - 2,000 for vaginal delivery - 3,000 for cs Dr fee include post natal care. He accepts lab test from nigeria and does the one not included. Baby's 1st paediatric appointment - $75 2nd appt and blood work -$55 Baby's document are ready just waiting for nija visa. This na my journey. I give God all the glory that I come, I saw and I conquer. |

Thanks a lot your info has been really helpful
quote author=olokings post=38532820]Hospitals presumably equipped for vbac includes: Baylor medical centers Texas Presbiterian hospitals Methodist medical center etc.. Google for more
Vbac friendly obgyn around dallas area includes: Yolanda - baylor Charles Griffiths - presbiterian Downey - methodist Carlton - methodist. Google for more and be quick to hola at them because the doc's don't take late patients especially if they ate vbac because there's a lot of parameters required to be considered to decide weda the woman is a gud vbac candidate or not.
Google vbac friendly doctors in Texas and a few names will pop up then go further by researching personally each of the doctor's of their experiences with vbac and patient review on that specific practice. .
My wife used methodist Richardson n Downey as obgyn. He did pretty well and no drama.
U ll like to note that hospitals that are vbac friendly are usually large and have dedicated various med practices housed in the same complex such that d docs are practically available all thru the delivery n labour pls they are ready for any emergency. Mostly the labor rooms (private) are equipped to go to emergency c section without moving the patient during delivery.
Gud luck on ur further endeavor. ..[/quote] |

Thanks so much for touching that matter, can you help out with the name of hospital and dr your wife used for the VBAC. olokings post=38526365: Quick note. .. On the VBAC case. .. there's really no special (or different hospital/ obgyn) price as to normal/cs and vbac delivery. Is just a matter of whether or not the hospital is equipped to handle likely emergencies that may arise during a vbac and further if the doctor is experienced at handling vbac cases. My wife just had a second vbac with a 4kg+ youngie n the doctor and hospital charges were same as a normal delivery.
My advice is for your location just Google obgyn that encourages and performs vbac however from research only a handful does it and are successful at it.
Please a word of advice really research the doctor by reading vbac mums review of him/her because some of them will tell you they ll give u a vbac only for them to ve premeditated n offer u an emergency c-section few days to ur EDD wen dey know u got no where else to run to. ..
I noticed that during my research whilst looking for a vbac friendly obgyn. ..
2 cents for who cares to pick. . .. out for a bit again I'm seriously in need of a shutter-eye |

@ MumTee I called Ben Taub too but they didn't help much, was just given a range of price 3967-4975 for just hospital fee was asked to look up Drs affiliated to the hospital and get the Drs fee, I saw 1 Dr Adebayo Adesomo tried getting through but not mKn much headway I'll keep trying. When do you plan going to Ben Taub to find out details? I'm presently in New York should be in Houston by end of October. Thanks would be awaiting a reply from u MumTee: @bizzle6, I am also searching for a VBAC hospital but my discussion with the Oak bend Doc shows most hospital around Houston don't do it. I found out Ben Taub General hospital Houston TX 77030 does it but when I called them, they couldn't ascertain anything and insisted that its when I come in person that we can discuss on it, other birthing options and cost/fees. So in d meantime, I'm settling for Oak bend and staying in Richmond (a private paid arrangement) unless a good VBAC deal comes up. If u can call Ben Taub Hospital, u might be lucky to get a better response on cost breakdown and other info. If you do, pls let me know.
@Embermum, I could find out for you if they have another spare room, when are u leaving? have u bought your ticket, which airline and POE are you using? |

Tobermom: Hi If Youre looking for a hospital or doc to carry out VBAC then you might have to cross out el paso doctores para ti that is. They dont do VBACs ( i was told this) . what i did was to search out a hospital of choice then check out the obgyns attached to the hospital on healthgrades one after the other. If any of them have carried out a VBAC it will appear under procedures performed. thanks but I contacted University medical centre directly, I didn't go through doctors parti and they said they do perform VBAC just that it depends on my doctor and the test result performed on me upon arrival. |

I haven't really made up my mind if I would have my baby in richmond( oakbend precisely) or el paso. I'm really looking out for a hospital that would agree to a VBAC, any information on that would help greatly. If I'm having my baby in richmond I'm likely staying in Pearland or Ild have to look for accommodation within richmond. Kindly share the prices u r getting on accommodation |

ObRochec: My spouse and I are currently in El Paso, having come in through Dallas hitch-free, probably because we travelled as a couple. The popular hospital here is Las Palmas Del Sol Medicals, sometimes referred to as University Hospital. The currently used residence here is Intown Suites which we found unsuitable based on services, hygiene and security. We thus decided to find an apartment after a week stay. We found several apartments with better services and better homely living even at a lesser or same cost. The 2 bedroom apartment we rented for 3 months stay is better convenient for birthing/holiday stay, has pools, sporting facilities, gym and parks within a controlled entrance area for security. The snag is renting or buying furniture and paying utility which in the long term is advantageous as you would have set up accounts in the process which makes your subsequent visits more convenient and trustworthy.
Any expectant mother arriving singly or with family desiring further advice should feel free to ask cos this forum greatly helped my wife in the quest for US delivery. Hi please what's the cost of having a baby in the the university medical centre? |
