I swear to God Almighty, I've never done this before, and this is the last thing I want to do, but I have no other option now.
Please have mercy on me and help me.

As long as the foreign exchange is high, food prices and other essentials would always be expensive and affordable.
Govt has a mesa of the economy and monetary policies, the result is mass hunger we are experiencing now.
Let Dollars come down to less than #1000, things would normalize back on its own. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Wumi Tuase Reacts To a Banner She Saw At The Gate Of Lekki Central Mosque. by bjcole(m): 1:38pm On Dec 18, 2024 |
UncleAyo: To the Nigerian Police and all necessary stakeholders,
While individuals and groups have the right to express their beliefs, the content and tone of this banner are provocative and directly challenge the core tenets of the Christian faith. Given the sensitive religious diversity in our society, such a statement has the potential to incite public uproar, disturb communal peace, and cause avoidable tensions between religious groups.
Reasons for Concern:
1. Religious Sensitivity: The message is confrontational and could be seen as an attack on Christian beliefs.
2. Potential for Conflict: Public displays of such messages may provoke strong reactions, leading to unnecessary public disorder or confrontations.
3. Violation of Neutral Spaces: Public spaces should remain neutral and inclusive, fostering respect for all religious beliefs.
In light of the above, I respectfully request the following:
1. The immediate removal of the banner to prevent any form of public disturbance.
2. Appropriate measures to ensure similar provocative displays are not erected in the future.
Ensuring peace, harmony, and respect among citizens of different religious affiliations is of utmost importance. I trust that you will take swift action to address this issue and safeguard the public order. You are not serious at all. You think those that put that banners don't know what they want to achieve |

nairalanda1: MIllei also
1. Froze salaries
2. Cut all subisdies
3. Stopped spending on new projects
4. Sacked a lot of civil servants.
You sure you want that type of leadership for Nigeria?
Tinubu cut subsides only, you people cried. GEJ, Buhari did the same, you guys cried....so why are you praising a leader who cut a lot of subsides?
One governor sacked workers to reduce cost in 2001, you guys removed him from office next elections...so why are you praising a leader who did same.
And the workers and unions in Argentina protested against MIllei. Well well.
Also poverty has gone up in Argentina, the only benefit is hopefully the country is ready for investment. You analogy is impecunious, Tinubu removed subsidy and concocted a monstrous and colossal problem by floating the naira. Naira skyrocketing from #700 to #1900 was reason for the bad economy |
Politics › Re: 2025 Budget: ₦13 Trillion Deficit To Be Financed Through Borrowing – Wale Edun by bjcole(m): 9:16am On Dec 17, 2024 |
Cut down the ministries from 47 to less down 20. We don't need most of the ministries. Slash down recurrent expenditure by half and stop most of the loop holes.
We don't a bi camera legislative house.
Cut the waste and stop the looting |
Politics › Re: 2025 Budget: ₦13 Trillion Deficit To Be Financed Through Borrowing – Wale Edun by bjcole(m): 9:06am On Dec 17, 2024 |
casualobserver: 1: subsidy removal simply means we no longer borrow to pay for subsidy. It isn’t money we had and save due to subsidy removal. It is additional debt we save. Understand the difference! You can’t save. What you never had to begin with.
2: FG only gets 15% of the VAT collected. Ask your governors where the VaT money is.
3: the sensible question is where is the gain from floating the Naira and again the majority of it goes to the governors. Again ask your governors what they are doing with the windfall! If we are no longer borrowing to pay for subsidy again, what are we borrowing again to pay for? 13Trilllions loan again in 2025 |

IMAliyu2: ≈N450 cbn rate (This rate was virtually inaccessible to the average man) ≈N780 black market rate (The free-market rate) if I'm remembering correctly. You are not correct. Black market was #735 to a dollar when Tinubu took over. The govt actually fumbled. their thinking was that after floating, the currency was going to stabilize at #700 to a dollar, but they failed to realize that Nigeria is just a consuming nation with very low productivity. Also in addition, this govt have been intervening by defending the naira in so many instances so as to keep at the rate it is presently. |

dalitigator: True talk. This man is a silent working monster. Within 2 years, petroleum products import has dropped by over 80%. Nigeria now exports refined crude. I am just praying this tax reform bill scales through. By 2027, Nigeria should also be a net exporter of Agricultral products. Electricity is stable 18 to 22 hrs daily. Just Imagine what he will do before 2027.
Most states will definitely go back to massive large scale farming if they can longer rush to Abuja for free money. Where is electricity stable for 18 to 22 hrs? Can you pls educate us , because here in Lagos I m staying, electricity is a thrash compared to what we enjoyed under buhari. And again there is nothing Tinubu would do that would make much impact to the people as far as prices of foodstuffs, goods and services keep increasing on a regular basis. It's almost Christmas, and there are no signs of festivities and glamour that we are used to. |

Nigeria should go back to free and fair elections, not these jamborees we call elections both at states and federal level. Let the govt allow electronic voting along with Bvas accreditation.also Diaspora voting.
Let the election results be seen in real time. Let us move forward as people and be truthful to ourselves. Righteousness exalts a Nation. Nigeria can only move forward on the basis of truth, justice and honesty, but unfortunately, I don't know if Tinubu as a president would ever allow this. |

femisplash: N216 to $1 whereby using $20billion to defend the naira annually, with an unchecked pervasive of FX arbitrage within the system. How smart are you? You are not smart at all. Tinubu himself used the exchange rate to campaign and said 1Dollar would equal to 1 Naira. If Tinubu knew that it would be counter productive defending the naira, why did they used that to deceive the people. If #216 to a dollar was not good then #1600 to a dollar is criminal. Return the dollar back to what u met it period. |
Politics › Re: Despite Takeoff Of Dangote, P/H Refineries, Nigeria's Fuel Import, 2.3bn litres by bjcole(m): 7:02pm On Dec 05, 2024 |
BoldBrainz: But wait o, is it that basic understanding of everyday dynamics is a problem for Nigerians?
Yes, the Dangote refinery is producing fuel and already selling same into the Nigerian markets, but it is equally exporting fuel to other international markets as we previously read on this same platform. Even if Dangote concentrates on feeding our market, the current output is not going to meet the daily fuel needs of 220 million Nigerians.
Don't even get me started on the Port Harcourt refinery because that one is still on shaky grounds, post rehabilitation. We're yet to be certain even, as to what's coming out of there and into our consumer markets.
Then factor in the fact that we are still buried deep in the menace of fuel smuggling across International borders and this is a scourge that's a daily source of income for thousands of Nigerians engaged in it.
If we abruptly cease importation of petroleum products at this point, the magnitude of scarcity that's going to hit us will have all of you here lamenting and abusing the government.
This thing is a process. Those of you who were born during the privatization of the Telecommunications sector in OBJ's regime can recall how long it took for us to start buying SIM cards for 200 naira. The healthy competition and reduced prices vis-a-vis the surplus availability of petrol that y'all are clamouring for, is going to take a decent while.
Y'all should learn to calm the fvck down! You are talking scraps. The price of petrol is dependent on the current exchange, crude and petrol.are all international products and unfortunately Nigeria govt is do dependent on earning forex from sales of crude. Until we can operate like Liya, Saudi Arabia etc where the govt prioritize local consumption, then Nigerians can begin to enjoy less expensive petrol. We need leaders that are not selfish, leaders that truly want this country to work, not personal pockets. |
