Goodvibes007: Peter Obi has offended so many people including the dead like Dora Akunyili and her husband. The Apga Judas himself, the most selfish human hypocrite, let him just mention 1 commissioner that served under him in his 8 years that amounted to anything politically, be it Minister, house of reps, Senator, Governor, or anyone that is with him today in the laborious parry? |

Praising the government when Naira is 216 per Dollar means praising stagnancy.
Praising the government when Naira is above 216 per Dollar means praising backwardness.

Politics › Re: Air Peace; The Hypocrisy Dragging Nigeria Back by blacknp(m): 3:58pm On Apr 12, 2024 |
NOETHNICITY: As much as I want Air Peace to succeed with FG intervention beyond any stretch of our imagination, I cannot help but point out our hypocrisy as citizens of this great country.
I go straight to point.
I remember during the tenure of PMB as president of Nigeria when he floated the idea of the FG intention to mobilize national resources to resettle herders as a permanent solution to the decades old conflict between farmers and herders, a problem which persists till date, Nigerians particularly from the southern part of the country protested vehemently against the idea accusing the president of being sectional.
The protest was so fierce and so loud that Buhari had to drop the idea. The idea behind the rejection was that it would be improper to deploy national resources to settle individuals who are into private business.
I remember arguing vehemently that it was standard practice all over the world and Nigeria shouldn’t be any different. I still remember the 2008 global financial crises which had its roots in America, the then US government gave out billions of dollars to major corporations as bailouts in other to keep them running.
I want to use this opportunity to urge the FG to continue to support Allen Oyeama with everything he requires so that perhaps one day Air peace will emerge as the best airline not only in Nigeria but Africa. This is something that is very possible. We have what it takes as a nation, considering the advantage our population offers, to have leading private sector companies in various industries. What is wrong if we have 1000 Dangote in Nigeria? Instead of criticizing Dangote and wishing for his demise we should rather encourage the birth of thousands of Dangote in Nigeria. Records show that the wealthiest countries in the world are countries with the highest number of billionaires. For example China, USA, Germany, and now India.
In line with this, the FG should Infact quadruple its support program and initiative for the private sector for its the private sector that is the driver of economy.
If Nigerians had let Buhari carry on with his effort to resettle the herders, perhaps by now the farmer-herders conflict would have been a thing of the past, and maybe, just maybe, Nigeria would have become net exporter of meat to various countries boosting our FX earnings as a result.
This and many more we can achieve if we purge ourselves of tribal bigotry and lame ethnic attachments in Nigeria. True Talk. |

Paraman: The Eko Electricity Distribution Company says the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved the migration of 33 additional feeders to Band A under its franchise area.
The feeders are Adeleke Adedoyin, Ajeast, Annex, Army Resettlement, British America Tobacco, CIG, Coker, Dideolu, Droyers, Empire Court, Estate, Etim Inyang, Firro, Freeman, Glover, Heritage, M&K Express, Mega Plaza, Montgomery 1, Moore Road, Nest Oil, NIMR, Nipost, Osborne, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Palace Road, Rocky Estate, Rumens, Smith, Station Feeder (Nitel), Victoria Arobieke, DPR andNitel.
The DisCo disclosed this Friday in a statement made available to our correspondent by the General Manager, Corporate Communications of EKEDC, Babatunde Lasaki.
PUNCH online reports that on April 3, the Federal Government, through the NERC, announced that subsidy would no longer be paid on the electricity consumed by Band A customers.
From N68 per kilowatt-hour, Band A customers now pay N255/KWh, while others maintain the old tariffs.
Lasaki said customers in these areas would experience “a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours of power supply daily in line with the newly approved Multi-Year Tariff Order”.
He assured customers within the EKEDC network of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of service rendered to them.
He said, “In our bid to serve our customers better, we are looking to even add more feeders to the list of our Band A feeders so that more customers can enjoy a guaranteed 20 hours of power supply daily.
“It is also our commitment to ensure that customers under other service bands, that is, Bands B to E also enjoy their guaranteed minimum supply hours while we work to improve our power supply”.
Lasaki added that EKEDC was working to eliminate supply downtime within its franchise area and achieve its goal of a stable and uninterruptible power supply.
He said, “The EKEDC is dedicated to investing more in infrastructural capacity to improve power supply and is working with all stakeholders to ensure a minimum of 20 hours of supply is available to all its customers”.
