Billyonaire: This is a welcomed development. It is called Quantitative Easing and will be readjusted in the future. This will jump-start the Economy.
Instead of ignorant people complaining about Fiscal Policies they know nothing about, why not just ask questions ? Or better still, find a product or service to export and earn extra on foreign exchange.
Anyway, I dont blame una, when student protest N60,000 a session school fees, what do we expect ? If we had encouraged resource control and fiscal federalism, Nigeria would have developed so many export products that situations like this would affect only oil producing states. States that export non oil products, would still be receiving inflow of dollars |

They say they want to cut subsidy into half because of sharp falling in crude oil prices. The fact that crude oil has fallen, does that not automatically reduces the amount of subsidy necessary. Or was not the high price of crude a major cause for the high cost of subsidy. We call it black magic economics. |

Am a staunch supporter oF good luck but hE keeps disappointing me That subsidy will be halved doesn't mean the price should increase or increase sharply. Except Okonjo is performing black magic , halving subsidy should not lead to price increment or sharp increment. We must ask Okonjo to tell us how much government pay as subsidy per litre and how much government plans to be paying now per litre |

MB: I said to grab power from PDP SS: Ok, how can you improve the economy? MB: I will fight corruption SS: What are your plans for healthcare and education? MB: I will stop corruption SS: What's your plan for housing and urban development? MB: I will kill corruption SS: How can you fix insecurity, especially Boko Haram? MB: I will murder corruption SS: How can you build roads and upgrade infrastructure? MB: I will finish corruption SS: What are your plans for youths empowerment and agriculture? MB: I will destroy corruption SS: Excuse me Sir, why is your agenda centred on corruption alone? MB: It’s because the corruption under Goodluck Jonathan is unprecedented and I'm the only person that can end it. SS: Really and you didn't end it during Abacha's regime when Nigeria was the most corrupt country in the world in 1997, second most corrupt country in 1996 and third in 1998 according Transparency International Report? You quietly served under that most corrupt government and nobody heard your voice about corruption. MB: **his face changes** I beg your pardon Stephen. Did you bring me here to insult me? Was this what we discussed when you invited me? SS: Mr. Buhari, this is BBC HardTalk - a no-hold barrel interview session. Pls, can you kindly answer my question? MB: I ain't gonna answer you (he tries to speak like an American but with Fulani accent) SS: Why Mr. Buhari? MB: Because I wasn't the president then SS: Ok, that reminds me. During your illegitimate regime (1983-85), you jailed the following persons between 70-100 years jail terms even when some of them did nothing: Alex Ekweume, Sam Mbakwe, Ambrose Ali, Emeka Ojukwu, Lateef Jakande, Jim Nwobodo and Fela etc. MB: They were corrupt. That was why I jailed them. SS: What about Ibrahim Awwal - your personal friend and the then governor of Niger state? MB: He was not corrupt SS: Excuse me Sir. Ibrahim Awwal was arrested at Heathrow airport right here in London with £14m. You simply placed him under house arrest for few weeks; the same way you placed Shehu Shagari (the then president) under house arrest, but locked up Alex Ekweme (the VP) in Kirikiri. Why? MB: Ain't gonna stay here and listen to this f**king bullshit (still speaking like an American) SS: Mr. Buhari, it seems you're a tribal bigot because it's on record that you never jailed corrupt politicians from your region even when they were the most corrupt. ---------------------------------- At this point Buhari couldn't bear it anymore. He got up and grabbed Stephen Sackur on his shirt collar. Met Police invaded the studio and got him arrested. The Police said, do you think here is Nigeria where you threaten "dogs and baboon" or where you lament that the "fight against Boko Haram is war against the north"? This is the United Kingdom...you'll be jailed for assault! Buhari stops speaking like an American and switches to Hausa language: Don Allah kada ku kurkuku ni. Kamar mayar da ni zuwa Nijeriya. Wani ya kamata don Allah sa ni El-Rufai wayar o. (Please do not jail me. Just send me back to Nigeria. Someone should please get me El-Rufai phone o) LMAO! Its unfortunate that the most sophisticated tribe in Nigeria is busy supporting an old man who don't have a single ideal about transformation other than fight sectional corruption. I believe , the heavens kept him alive to see where his false Nigeria will end.
As Gowon said he is happy that Ojukwu died being a Nigerian, so we will tell him that he will die never being a Nigerian.
God has a way of teaching an ardent liar a lesson he won't forget.
May God cause Gowon to face war crime tribunal and be given a criminal burial in contrast to Ojukwu's hero burial. |

Stylz69: What fuel subsidy? If the price of crude is falling then the price of fuel and diesel should fall as well. Why aren't we seeing a fall in the price of diesel which is fully deregulated? Secondly, we should also see a fall in the cost of fuel, assuming there is a subsidy then we should hear an announcement that the government will be spending less on subsidy than before due to the fall in prices. What we shouldn't be hearing is an increase in fuel prices due to the removal of subsidy!!!! Simple economics If you are a woman, I would have kissed you. |
Politics › Re: Fresh Air:Naira In Free Fall Against Dollar May Reach N200 To A Dollar This WeeK by BlackTechnology: 11:14pm On Nov 19, 2014 |
saxywale: I believe that $45 is not likely too as I got that figure from a friend working in the financial advisory sector. I believe Saudi would make the oil fall to a point where US drillers would be forced out of the market and oil price increases again. But analyst believe that when that happens, larger firms would take over smaller firms and increase in price would lead to more oil output in the US thereby forcing the price down again. All in all, this is a big lesson for economies dependent on oil alone for income. You have brought out a valid fact To me Nigeria must think outside oil wealth or end up in the same economic failed league as Ghana. Our motto should be THINK NON OIL OR PERISH. |
Politics › Re: Fresh Air:Naira In Free Fall Against Dollar May Reach N200 To A Dollar This WeeK by BlackTechnology: 11:05pm On Nov 19, 2014 |
atlwireles: $45 is not likely, 90% of the new oil sources from the North america cost over $70 per barrel to produce. If oil slides to $70 most of fracking and heavy sand oil from North America will shut production down. Many projects for 2015 are already on hold, because of price uncertainty. If this information is true, I throw my cap in respect to you for your fact finding missions. Nigeria is living on a borrowed time of wealth. We must diversify our export trade and encourage indigenous production of essential products especially electronic mechanical etc goods which is best achievable through resource control and fiscal federalism |
Politics › Re: Fresh Air:Naira In Free Fall Against Dollar May Reach N200 To A Dollar This WeeK by BlackTechnology: 10:56pm On Nov 19, 2014 |
saxywale: price of oil is not going up soon. McKinsey predicted $45ish dollar / barrel in January. This is the drilling season of shale oil and SADG oil in north America. The drilling coy are in full blast. Saudi is ready to sell its surplus oil for cheap as it has huge forex reserve. former troubled regions Libya, Iraq, Isis(Syria) e.t.c are all pumping out oil in full force and selling for cheap. Russia has signed multi billion dollar deals with China ( one last week) to supply China oil and gas. Shell had a good foresight by selling off its huge asset in nigeria. So who is going to buy our oil Nigerians should brace for impact. people should start large scale farming as Agric export and remittance from Nigerians abroad would be the countries life line. Its unfortunate that the absence of resource control, fiscal federalism etc has deprived us the opportunity to diversify our economy at state LGA community levels. Is there hope .? Yes If only we encourage resource control , fiscal federalism and most importantly indigenous production of essential products especially electronic mechanical etc goods which depletes our foreign reserve when we buy dollar in order to buy and Import foreign products. |
