HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Kai, these your posts are cringe-worthy, i swear! Everyone is telling you that you're an Olodo and you still persist in shaming yourself. What sort of masochistic imbecility makes you persist with these inane replies?

Why stop at assault helos sef? Why not exhort 'Nigerian intellectuals' to develop aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines that surpass anything in the US Navy?

I pray that in a few years, when you would have had the opportunity to finish secondary school (i refuse to believe a graduate can be this brainless) and hopefully when your IQ improves, you will look back at these posts and cringe.

Now, betake thyself and thy addled brain out of my presence. I will jape no further with you, half-wit cheesy
Olodo raised to power 20

India is 13yrs older than Nigeria but today produces advanced weapons

South and North started their true modern nation hood after the Korean war 1953(7yrs before Nigeria's independence) but today produce advanced weapons.

Why can't we make our own weapons? We need to be self reliant? Make our own hellicopters, planes, tanks ,etc. We should put our money into that instead of begging.

No. You didn't say 'advanced weapon'. You said 'better attack helicopter'

So you see a scenario where someone will wake up and make a superior attack helicopter than the Cobra that Bell Helicopter Coy built? And you forsee this happening in less than a decade?

LOL

Please keep posting. Every single post you make cements your reputation as a grade-A Olodo in everyone's eyes.
Someone called your attention to the fact that you don't know what you are talking about.

If a Nigerian intellectual develops a better attack helicopter compare to cobra is that not an advanced weapon.

I should think that the person who expresses confidence that a Nigerian can wake up and design and build a better attack helicopter than the state of the art models being built for the USAF - just because he's given a contract - is the actual olodo grin

These things take time. Investment in education, training, manufacturing...state of the art testing facilities.
We're talking YEARS or work here. Many, many years.

I notice you haven't volunteered to build or design or engineer anything. Color me surprised tongue
Olodo cube

I said

if we challenge our intellectuals in weapons development, any of them who successfully develops an advance weapon should be given a contract to

a) Teach our military intellectuals

b) Approach DICON to help him mass produced the weapons and if DICON can't do so, he can then approach any industry to him mass produced the weapons.

Yes, we have dis challenges but only d living can/have plan. Lets stay alive first.
Ogbunigwe gave biafra victory by buying enuf time for them . To me that is victory in a way.
Abi u feel contrary?
I understand your point of urgency of buying weapons in a time like this but remember the war might last for years
Politics › Re: We Won’t Sell Fighter Helicopters To Nigeria, US Insists by BlackTechnology: 7:10am On Nov 14, 2014
It might surprise you that a Nigerian intellectual might be able to develop a better attack helicopter if promised to be given defence contract if he or she succeeds.

Ojukwu will never miss this kind of opportunity to showcase black men brilliant minds

for the longterm plan yes, i agree with u. In the interim, we need to get out of where we have found ourselves alive..we have no structures to pull through on our own so for now, we just have to be d end users we have always been. Buy from them and stay alive to plan for tomoro.
While we are importing weapons it is advisable we encourage our intellectuals in weapons development because we never know if it is imported or indigeneous weapons that will save us. Eg Ogbunigwe though never gave Biafra victory but it gave Biafra respect by striking fear into the heart of Nigeria. True or False

"There is a need to drive domestic resource mobilisation,”
How long will it take the government to realise this? Borrowing money is like postponing the evil day. It is better to face the situation and look for ways to generate revenue from within.
I partially disagree with you on internal generation of revenue for a nation like Nigeria

Reason

Most of the electronic mechanical etc products we use are imported. We need dollars to buy these products.

If Nigeria was producing the electronic mechanical etc products we import, your view would have being the perfect solution.

So I will advice her to finance global electronic mechanical etc industries to establish their industries in Nigeria in order to prevent dollar flight out of our reserve.

I see russia also finding a reason to turn us down. Only china has 'genuine' interest in assisting us.
A nation that has lots of natural resources and by commission and omission refuses to develop her indigenous military technology is only inviting a clandestine and covert take over by neo colonialists.

China Russia might disappoint Nigeria leaving Nigeria more vulnerable .

My advice

Stirrup our intellectuals in weapons development.

Good point,

Kuwaiti state was base on the agreement between the victorious powers in the first world war and Saddam only tried to correct the sykye pickots agreement. i agree with the fact that nigeria needs a formidable military i am only empathizing the fact that we need a strong economy as well
Do you know that some nations feed themselves from the sales of weapons eg Israel.

Do you know that lots of people are employed in an efficient and effective weapons research development and production.

Do you know that if we give room for our intellectuals to participate in weapons development, their skills will be sharpen to a point where major economic institutions within and outside will employ their services leading to a robust and highly technological economic just like China Japan etc.

Technologies deployed for military use most time have been found to play a lot of roles in economic development and growth of great nations eg Internet
Politics › Re: Tougher Times Ahead, Says Okonjo-iweala by BlackTechnology:
I disagree with her on the issue of African nations to be affected because their economy is export base

Reasons for my disagreement

1) Most African nations export only one type of commodity which makes them vulnerable to global prices. Unlike China Japan Europe and America which have diversified their export trade to ensure that if one commodity is affected they can be most assured that others will keep bringing in wealth until that commodity price recovers.

2) Nations suffering this global oil prices are nations that export majorly one type of commodity especially oil eg Russia.

Solution

Diversify our export trade in order to keep new dollar notes flowing in. Although it might not be huge but it will be better than our present predicament.

On this I score Okonjo my heroine 50% for identifying the problem but deprive her of the other 50% for not thinking the solution through.

The solutions are

1)diversify our export trade in order to bring more dollar notes flowing in.

2) fiinance global electronic mechanical etc industries to establish their industries in Nigeria in order to prevent dollar flight out of our foreign reserve due to high demand for dollar in order to import these essential products.

the west do not need to invade Nigeria. economic sanctions is enough to cripple the whole country. The nations's resources is in their control since inception. all they have to do is support a leader to keep the status quo, cut aids and acess to international markets etc. and as for regional adversaries, there is none (maybe Cameroon but since they have a security alliance with France, it is counter productive to modernize) Small arms to defend the nation inst the problem, corruption within the military high command is. the BH issue was an eye opener and reforms are needed in that establishment
Russia and China are corrupt but what have protected their sovereignty is their ability to develop and produced indigenous military technology.

Kuwait is not as corrupt as Nigeria but was invaded by Iraq.? True or False.
Politics › Re: Nigeria To Buy Arms From Russia by BlackTechnology: 8:55pm On Nov 13, 2014
Missy89:
That is always the case. strong military has its price. Where do u draw the line?
It was not only a political weakness but a financial one as well. The country was flat broke and the huge military became a burden. U might not know this but Russia still gets military aid from the US to secure/destroy their nuclear stockpile since 1992. military modernization has costs if there is no vibrant economy. Economy should always come first, then military can modernize at the same pace.
There is a difference between military technological know how and excessive military spending

Nigeria is vulnerable to Western backed internal or external invasion because we lack basic military technological know how as a result of not giving room to our intellectuals in our higher institutions to participate in weapons research and development just the way other powerful nations do

Imagine GEJ winning election next year and Buhari's supporters decide to take up arms against the government. What chance do the government has if US decides to launch a naval blockade in order to prevent the government from importing weapons through the sea the way Biafra was blockade from importing weapons through the sea.

Chiwude:
The ways of God is not the ways of Man. Everything that happens to a man in life is geared towards two things: for corrective measures and awakening. The sleeping giant of Africa in the quest for world economic growth abandoned its military project for other frivolities. Forgetting that a prosperous nation without a strong military might draws itself closer to enemy invasion. It is a shame that at this age the biggest economy in Africa cannot boast of a single military high-tech ammunition manufacturing and research complex. While countries like South-Africa is in its advance stage of military technology, Nigeria on the other hand discarded it Gods giving opportunity to leverage on the war time heroics of the Biafran military Obunigwes. Subsequent governments saw the Biafran innovations as a rag tag hardware and preferred begging on their knees to buy outdated and mal-functional weapons from their white masters (allies). Until Nigeria start prioritizing local manufacture of weapons the future looks bleak for the nations sovereignty. Because a time shall come when the eastern and western block may ally themselves against us. And if such happens the China and Russia we now look up to, will turn out to be just a spectator in a crisis between Nigeria and rebels (or aggressive countries) supported by the Americans/French.

What GEJ needs to do are

1) Approach other nations for weapons

2) Setup branches of defense ministry through out all public/ private higher institutions in order to encourage them in weapons development by promising to give them defense contract if they develop advanced weapons and the defence ministry should organize an annual 2weeks weapons show.
