Kriff: You can state that the property will devolve on you afterwards. But seriously, you can just use the fact that your parents and all siblings are in Nigeria as a home tie and it will surely fly. |

Very long post! I applied on the 1st of May. I applied for a Masters of Law in University of Saskatchewan. The documents I used are: The normal CIC forms. I got a 20k scholarship from U of S. Though I got later got bursary and offer as Graduate Teaching Assistant which I didn't include in my application and never bothered to send to CIC. A sponsorship letter from my employer stating that firm intends to take care of my flight ticket and other miscellaneous not covered by my scholarship. Admission Letter. My Employment Letter. Police Clearance Certificate Transcript and all my academic certificates. Letter of Purpose and Explanation especially emphasizing why I must do my program in Canada as such program in research is not done in Nigeria and not even in the US. I think my strongest ñoint was my statement of purpose and explanation. At least I can write well. NB: I didn't include personal assets, statement of account or even that of a family member. No paystubs. While filling the form, I didn't include the end dates for all my employment history, including the present one. I sent about 14 mails to different Canada embassy offices, and about 6 webforms when I was waiting for them to send me a medical request. I even told them that I am running out of time to make my travel plans. Did Biometrics on the 3rd of May, updated the same day. Then my trouble began. Lol. Long wait was really a serious trouble. Friends that applied were getting updated nothing for me and thats where the real problem started. My BP got so high. Finally on 24th of July, I got medical request. I couldn't go for medicals till 1st of August for some reasons. I later went and everything went right except that my BP was high. 152/90. I was never a known hypentensive. It all boiled down to high BP garnered over the wait period for my approval. The doctor asked me to wait for sometime. I repeated it, the same thing. I was asked to do 3 more tests, Electric Cardiograph, Echocardiogram, and Serum Creatinine Test , and then get a cardiologist report which cost me a lot. On Friday I got the report from the same hospital. Just yesterday I did a mail to the hospital to enquire why they haven't sent the medical report, they generated it yesterday night and sent to them. Then today, my medicals was updated as passed ND in less than 1 hour an approval and request of original passport. In all it was about God, I did countless fasting and praying, sowing of seeds and all that. Especially when the reports I was getting here were not favourable. Bye and large, I think it is most appalling to see us trying to compare our application with others. That alone is enough to increase your BP and can even cost you your success in medicals or at least extra expenses for further tests that is even costlier than the medicals itself. Quit worrying, your worries can't change anything. Rather it can even kill your hopes of having your studies abroad. Please those going to U of S can you hit me up! All the gurus in the house thanks for all you do here. I quite appreciate Hardy and Nyjunwa for sharing the email addresses I sent mails to. 15 weeks no be beans o. We expect more approvals here soon. 15 Likes 1 Share |

Please house I intend to go drop my passport tomorrow in Lagos as I am currently in Lagos. However, I did my biometrics in Abuja, does it make any difference? If yes, how? Thanks for your contribution. And what am I expected to go there with? Does going early save me from anything? |

Frankrobbn1: Not just that it is wrong to compare one's application with PhD applicants. It is totally wrong to compare your application with anyone's own whether PhD, Masters or PGD/C. Applications differ in all aspects. Continuous comparison will lead you into HBP and you will not like the outcome. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

pchilaka: I did online too and I got the same message. The question is not whether an online applicant can get the message, rather, it is whether upon receiving such message, you can use it to track anything. And to the best of my knowledge and experience, an that of few others that I know, you can track the application with that number. |

emeka27: Sorry for your denial. I don't think it is an issue if you get admission to a different School. Although other guys in the house should also have their say too. Meanwhile, I don't think the problem for your denial was financial status, you simply have good sum of money as closing balance and your sponsor's SOA is also in good shape. I strongly believe that the reason is the reasonability of your intended program. That is the existence of carrier progression between your first degree, work experience and the intended study. I think u should apply for your GCMS notes to get the actyrrason for refusal. 1 Like |

orobs93: Oga just calm down. Once your application is done online there is nothing to track. It will continue to show that Record Not Found. That stuff is meant for people who did paper route. I applied almost 3 months now it is still showing that same thing till now. Come to think of it, once you open your profile, everything is there for you to see and that explains why there isn't anything to further track. 1 Like |

Frankrobbn1: You already exchanged words while claiming that my argument is blind. I won't join urther issue with you on this. But I will say it for the umpteenth time, there is no hard and fast rule for determining which one is better. We have seen paper applications denied several weeks after application. We have also seen online applications denied with 3 weeks. So, you can continue to deal on 'facts'. 4 Likes |

ote author=Frankrobbn1 post=69678885] Biakwa, The moniker that was rejected is an online applicant. From recent findings, it happens to be that paper route applications seems faster to online route, which makes it easier for an applicant to know the fate of their application and as well quickly refire once refused. Paper route applications doesn't waste time in calling for medicals once an applicant has successfully submitted their application, this usually takes place 2-5 weeks after application submission. More so, Paper route applications are very fast in dishing out refusals, within the space of 3-4 weeks. Paper route takes a longer time on review of eligibility which can last for about 2-8weeks after medicals has been called and updated as PASSED. On the other hand, online applications appears very slow, and once review of eligibility starts it doesn't take much time for a decision to be made by the Visa officer, this happens within the space of 3hrs-48hrs. Finally, online applications are unpredictable due to the slow rate of processing. An applicant might stay up-to 10-12weeks and above in online route and still get a refusal. But such is very rare on paper route application. The above are the recent happenings for Nigerian applicants study permit application both online and paper route. [/quote] There is no hard and fast room in both the online and offline application. Non is predictable until you have your approval. We have seen online applications that didn't take up to 4 weeks to get a refusal here. Nothing is cast on a stone. Just do your application, putting the right documents and continue to pray until it is approved. 2 Likes |

Aphrikanna: It is over normal self. But it depends on the school. Some give administration on rolling basis, while some give admission after a deadline for application. So it depends. Those in the category of the later can take up to 3 months or more. |

Please house, I made an online application since very early May. I did my biometrics early May too. No update since then. I have equally sent emails accros to some addresses, yet no plausible responses. Only 2 responded and apparently they are not the offices handling my application. I have equally called Visa Office Lagos to see if I can get where the application is being processed. All to no avail. Please does anyone know what best I could do again or should I just continue chilling and praying over it ? |
