PoliticsSudan: Air Peace Offers Free, Immediate Evacuation Of Nigerians. by blazesam(op): 4:43pm On Apr 24, 2023
Aprivate Nigerian airline, Air Peace has stated its readiness to evacuate Nigerian nationals who are stranded due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan for free.

This was announced on Monday by the airline's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Allen Onyema, who added that the offer could only be possible if the Nigerian government can transport them to a safe and secure airport in any of Sudan's neighbouring countries.

This comes barely a few hours after the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs revealed the government’s plans to evacuate the stranded Nigerians by road from the Northeast African country.

The statement reads: “Again, Air Peace is willing to evacuate Nigerians stranded in Sudan free of charge if government can get them to a safe and secure airport in any of the neighbouring countries bordering Sudan. Everything must not be left for the government and government alone.

“It will be a privilege and honour of tremendous pride that we will be out there to give every Nigerian stranded in Sudan a sense of pride and oneness in their country.

“We are very ready to do it immediately. No time wasting. Any action that would promote national pride, national cohesion, peace and unity, we are for it.

“Again, we have no apologies for believing in our nation and loving the nation despite certain national challenges. If they are moved to Kenya or Uganda or any other country, we will move in to get them out. Some parents have started calling on us to help. We are ready to do this again and again.”

This is not the first time that the airline has offered to be of service to the nation by flying stranded Nigerians back home from foreign lands, especially in dire circumstances.

In 2019, during xenophobic attacks in South Africa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Air Peace volunteered to send an aircraft to South Africa to evacuate Nigerians who wished to return to the country, free of charge.

The airline later evacuated willing Nigerians out from South Africa at no cost on September 11 and 18, 2019.

This is an IPOB AGENDA...MUMU PEOPLE SUPPORTING RUBBISH. Will they even care if we all die in the Sudan? This is another Anambra son trying to use his resources to help you vulnerable people in the North that refuse peace.

PoliticsFG $22bn Loan Request Rejected By Chinese Bank – Reps by blazesam(op): 6:20am On Mar 29, 2023
The House of Representatives, on Tuesday, approved the request by the Federal Government to borrow $973,474,971.38 from China Development Bank.

This followed the decision by the China-Exim Bank to reject Nigeria’s $22,798,446,773 loan request earlier approved by the National Assembly.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business, Abubakar Fulata, moved a motion for the legislative chamber to amend its resolution granting approval for the failed loan deal.

The motion was titled ‘Rescission of the 2016–2018 Federal Government External Borrowing (Rolling) Plan.’

Moving the motion, Fulata said, “The House notes that the 2016–2018 Federal Government External Borrowing (Rolling) Plan was approved by the Senate and the House of Representatives on March 5, 2020, and June 2, 2020, respectively.

The House recalls that the National Assembly approved the sum of $22,798,446,773 only under the 2016–2018 Medium Term External Borrowing (Rolling) plan. The House is aware of the communications from the Federal Ministry of Finance requesting approval of modifications to the financing proposal for the Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project (Kaduna–Kano segment) occasioned by the COVID–19 pandemic, whereof China Exim Bank withdrew its support to finance the project.”

He added, “The House is also aware that to secure funds for the project, the contractor (CCECC Nigeria Limited), in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Transportation, engaged China Development Bank as the new financier in the sum of $973,474,971.38 only.

Fulata, therefore, prayed the House to “rescind its decision on the financier and harmonised terms and approve the change of financier from China Exim Bank to China Development Bank.”

The lawmakers unanimously granted the prayer.

The House also approved the conditions provided in the harmonised term sheet: Segment – Kaduna–Zaria–Kano; financier – China Development Bank; type of loan – commercial loan; maturity – 15years; currency – euro; interest rate – 2.7% + 6 months Euribor; commitment fee – 0.4%; and upfront fee – 0.5%.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Treaties, Protocols and Agreements, Nicholas Ossai, who commented after Fulata moved the motion, stated that the Executive arm of the government failed to present details of Nigeria’s commercial agreements with other countries to the National Assembly.

Ossai added, “Secondly, we are now changing from China Exim Bank to China Development Bank, it then means an addition of another agreement. And if we are going to pass this resolution, it then means that members of this honourable House will not see those agreements.

It is incumbent and important for the Minister of Finance (Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed), when you are coming (to the National Assembly) on these issues to come with the agreements as agreed with the China Development Bank, so that members can be guided when approving such conditions for this loan. Mr Speaker, I believe that this motion should be stepped down while we ask the relevant authorities to forward all the agreements as agreed with China Development Bank.”

Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, who presided over the session, however, argued that the substantive committees, especially Committee on Transport, had gone through the details.

The senate later dissolved into the “Committee of Supply” to consider the report before it eventually approved and passed the request to extend the life of the 2022 budget till June 30th, 2023.

The man Peter G. OBI must be aware of the plans ahead of 25th Feb 2023, the plans to Rig the election and make him come 3rd. However, you should be aware that this plan would only work to his advantage. The Man Mr Ahmed T.B would be destroying himself by himself, there would be an arrest on the swearing in date after he must have won by Dubious means and corrupt electoral practices. We are aware of the 10million dollars deal made with a man named Wike Nyesom, a Governor in the southern Region. The man Nyesom Wike, shall be engaging in this rigging too. All this shall happen but you all must be careful, there might be a break out of war which should be totally avoided by all means. This war would cost a lot of lives if it happens. This war would totally not be necessary as the Anonymous would do the needful in making Mr P.G Obi the next legal president of the country.

Do not forget, all these are connected to the declaration of the new nation which would happen by 2024. The Man Peter Obi must be careful of Handshakes, there is a plan to eliminate him as soon as possible by the use of Biological means. A handshake would be the the only option to execute this

Keep your fingers crossed and you must not forget,

Peter Obi wins "Tinubu's" Lagos. But you are still saying INEC is rigging for Tinubu just so that when Tinubu wins Katsina, you will say it was rigged.

Oh wait. Atiku won Katsina, Buhari's State.

So really how many persons do you want to accuse INEC of rigging for? Why not accept where your candidate lose?

So Obi can win Lagos, it is not rigging. But Amoda Ogunlere cannot win Osun that you said he is from, it is rigging.

Oh wait. Tinubu did not even win Osun. Atiku did. So what are you saying please? You thought Obi will win Osun??

Obi went to Kano and went straight to Sabon Gari where you have Igbos and minority Christians.

That is the divisive campaign Obi ran yet you will shout rigging if Tinubu wins Kano.

Oh wait. It is Kwankwaso that is winning Kano despite being an enemy of the sitting APC Governor!

Again, what are you saying

In the South East where Obi is from, Obi is winning by 90%

In the South West where Tinubu is from, Obi has won Lagos, Atiku took Osun. But when Tinubu takes Ekiti, it is rigging.

What is wrong with you guys?

Obi is winning in Edo State. If you add PDP and APC votes and times it by 2, Obi is still winning. This is a State where there is a PDP Governor and a Former APC National Chairman.

But it is rigging anywhere Obi is not winning. How can a people be this bigoted?

I have read people here saying they will never give a Northern beggar any money for not voting Obi.

Meanwhile Obi is clearing the South South and South East and Northerners are not threatening anyone. And you will call them uncivilized?

An unknown Labour party candidate for House of Rep, defeated the APC and PDP to win Etin-Osa Fed. Constituency in Lagos.

The APC guy was Obanikoro's son. The PDP guy was Banky W the musician. Both floored by a Labour party candidate people didn't know.

But the election was rigged is coming from the mouth of Labour party supporters.

8. Another unknown Labour party candidate defeated the APC and PDP in the major Senatorial Election in Edo.

The gap was almost 200%. If you add the PDP and APC votes together, the unknown Labour candidate still beat them with over 50k votes and these were not small candidates. They are the two most influential people in Benin!

But Labour Party supporters are still shouting rigging, failed election. Does this make sense

Obi is heading to 500,000 votes in Enugu. Whereas Tinubu has less than 5,000 votes in the whole Enugu.]

Tell us about South West results. Let start from Ekiti,Ogun, then talk about other states in far north. Is plateau from South East? You better rest

PoliticsTop INEC Consultant Says Tinubu Planned $170 Million Bribe To Electoral Officer by blazesam(op): 9:59am On Feb 25, 2023
Atop consultant of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Olatubosun Adeniyi Kuku, has been caught on tape revealing that Bola Tinubu, the flag bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), would offer $170 million to the commission’s officials to manipulate the results of the presidential elections across Nigeria.

“Asiwaju is giving INEC $170 million,” Mr Kuku, who described himself as the number one consultant for the commission, told an official in the audio obtained by Peoples Gazette this week. “We will share it around; everybody will do the bidding.”

Among several other midsize businesses, Mr Kuku was identified by The Gazette as the owner of Winning Keys Consult Ltd., located at 9, Usan Street, Durumi, Abuja, which claimed to have helped candidates win elective positions.

Mr Kuku, who said he visited Mr Tinubu when the former Lagos governor promised to bribe the electoral officials, disclosed that he had received N8 billion worth of election-related contracts from the commission.

“Last 2019, it is N7.8 billion the contract they gave me. Ask him who I am. They call me the Hembe Lembe of INEC. That’s what I do,” the consultant said.

In interviews, Mr Kuku repeatedly said he was not the one on the tape.

“It is not me,” the said by telephone on Friday morning. However, after The Gazette told him the voice was authenticated to be his, Mr Kuku abruptly hung up.

When The Gazette made another attempt to reach Mr Kuku shortly after his initial denial, he quickly said in Yoruba that the audio was recorded long ago and wondered why it could cause any troubles now. He failed to elaborate when pressed.

Whereas it could not be ascertained when or where the meeting Mr Kuku said he had with Mr Tinubu took place, his position as one of INEC’s biggest consultants was confirmed by The Gazette. INEC consultants have long been known to exploit their access to the electrical office towards personal inurement.

Yet, the electoral office strongly pushed back and summarily disowned Mr Kuku when asked for comments about the tape, which a pro-democracy activist described as “beyond disturbing.”

“The INEC chairman and national commissioners I know cannot accept money from any contestants,” spokesperson Rotimi Oyekanmi told The Gazette Friday afternoon.

“The processes that have been put in place have assured that no single person or any group of persons at all can influence the outcome of the presidential election in Nigeria,” the INEC spokesman added.

An INEC official said Mr Kuku’s status as a consultant with the agency would be placed under immediate review.

Bayo Onanuga, the APC Presidential Campaign Council spokesman, did not immediately respond to The Gazette’s request seeking his comments on the audio.

But Mr Tinubu has strongly denied all charges of corrupt practices or any attempts to compromise existing democratic processes. He was among the presidential candidates who signed a peace and fair pact in the weeks and days leading to today’s presidential election, saying it was only a continuation of his pro-democracy activity that peaked during the 1990s military junta.

PoliticsAPC Promises To Make Nigeria Biggest Economy In Africa Under Tinubu by blazesam(op): 7:08am On Feb 23, 2023
It okay.

APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu says the party will make Nigeria the biggest economy if Bola Tinubu is elected president. Mr Tinubu, a former Lagos governor, is contesting in Saturday’s presidential election.

“In this connection, we assure that the APC remains committed to implementing ideas that will continue to make Nigeria the biggest economy in Africa,” Mr Adamu said.

He said this while speaking with journalists on Wednesday in Abuja on the party’s chances.

“The APC is fully prepared and ready to go into this election. For us as a party, the only result we expect from this election is victory. We have worked hard, really hard. No party has been able to put up a robust campaign like the APC did,” stated the party chair. “I am sure that the efforts we have put into this campaign will definitely result in successes at the polls.”

He called on the party supporters and agents to conduct themselves peacefully and be vigilant in the polls. Mr Adamu also expressed optimism that Mr Tinubu would bring renewed hope to Nigerians if elected president.

The APC chair added, “We told Nigerians to have confidence in the ability of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to bring renewed hope to them. I assure every Nigerian that the next APC administration will not only build on monumental achievements of the past eight years, it will open new areas of development for the country.”

He added that in keeping with its commitment to a peaceful electoral system, the APC ran an issue-based and hitch-free campaign devoid of mudslinging and other provocative acts.

Mr Adamu said the party focussed on issues concerning Nigerians and assured that it had everything it takes to reset the country.
