I want to state clearly the seven Pillars of Wisdom. Of course, Wisdom as often said is the application of Knowledge. I agree strongly until you apply what you know, you are not wise.

1. Instructions
Another word is Training or Correction. According to Proverbs 8:33-36, no man submit to corrections and remain the same. The more you listen and obey instruction, the more you become wiser.

2. Association
This has to do with who you walk with. Do not be yoked by unbelievers. In Proverbs 13:20 "Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble", fools don’t always destroy themselves but also destroy people with them. A man who stays with the wise will become wise but if after staying with the wise, he is not wise then there is a wrong attitude.

3. Medidation

Meditation simply is brooding or pondering on what you have been taught. Joshua 1: 8 tells us meditating on the Word of God brings success your way. You should understand that how you get success depends on how you react to success.

4. Information.

This is seeking knowledge, the hunger for truth and knowledge. How do you get information? Listening to tapes, video messages, Reading books, getting articles related to you field and so on. If there’s anything in shortage today it is real fathers that take responsibility for their actions and take care of the financial, spiritual, emotional well being of their homes. Real fathers serve God; real fathers are men of action; real fathers prepare their children for adulthood; real fathers take responsibility, and real fathers are reliable. Today I’m going to talk about six attributes of good and godly fathers using the acronym F-A-T-H-E-R.

The “F” in father stands for Faithful – Good Fathers are Faithful

Abraham faithfully believed in God’s promise that his wife Sarah would bear a son at over ninety years of age and he would be the father of a great nation.

Most dads like to watch their sports on television; some have a few hobbies, and engage in some “down time” to relax. Despite occasional laziness, good fathers are men of action, especially when their families need them. Good fathers just don’t sit there, they spring into action when: The toilets overflow, the garbage disposal breaks, or when something important around the house that needs fixing. Good dads know how to get things done; they solve problems, and always rise to the occasion.

Good fathers also instill a good work ethic in their children and teach by example. Children need to see hardworking fathers and good fathers challenge their children to learn through activity. Good fathers watch over their children and give them the spaces they need to try new things learn from the mistakes they make. Good fathers are active and engaged parents.

No spirit is given different interpretations. The words, the book is given different interpretations, true, but the spirit behind the word is still the same. One may study the NIV bible and the other KJV bible, if both of them touch the spirit behind the word then they receive the same interpretation. You could be a kjv user and another man niv user, if both of you receive revelation or touch the spirit behind the word, you will both see the same thing. Why do you believe the Bible is the Word of God?

I was brought up to believe that the Bible was the Word of God. In early life I accepted it as such upon the authority of my parents, and never gave the question any serious thought. But later in life my faith in the Bible was utterly shattered through the influence of peer group. I found myself face to face with the question, why do I believe the Bible is the Word of God?

I had no satisfactory answer. I determined to go to the bottom of this question if I must serve God as presented by Preachers. If satisfactory proof could not be found that the Bible was God's Word I would give the whole thing up, cost what it might. If satisfactory proof could be found that the Bible was God's Word I would take my stand upon it, cost what it might.

I doubtless had many friends who could have answered the question satisfactorily, but I was unwilling to confide to them the struggle that was going on in my own heart; so I sought help from God, mentors, Fathers of Faith and from books, and after much painful study and thought came out of the darkness of skepticism into the broad daylight of faith and certainty that the Bible from beginning to end is God's Word. The following are largely the outcome of that experience of conflict and final victory. I would say I believe the word of God is one book that changed my life as a person and I have proof of how it changed me from a cultist to a Minister of the Gospel.

I will give THREE Reasons why I believe the Bible is the Word of God.

FIRST, on the ground of the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Many people accept the authority of Christ who does not accept that of the Bible as a whole. We all must accept His authority. He is accredited to us by five Divine testimonies: by the testimony of the Divine life He lived; by the testimony of the Divine words He spoke; by the testimony of the Divine works He wrought; by the Divine attestation of the resurrection from the dead; and by the testimony of His Divine influence upon the history of mankind. It is true God has said in His Word, "Open thy mouth wide and I will fill it" (Psalm 81:10), but this promise, as the context clearly shows, has nothing whatever to do with our opening our mouth in speaking. Most people who take this promise as applying to their preaching, and who make their boast that they never prepare beforehand what they are going to say, when they open their mouths have them filled with anything but the wisdom of God. Christ did say to His disciples, "Take no thought how or what ye shall speak; for it shall be give you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you" (Matthew 10:19-20); but this promise did not have to do with preaching, but with witnessing for Christ in circumstances of emergency and peril. In all cases of similar emergency, we have a right to rest in the same promise, and we have a right also to take the spirit of it as applying to our preaching. But if one has an opportunity to prepare for the services before him, and neglects that opportunity, God will not set a premium upon his laziness and neglect, by giving him a sermon in his time of need.

How shall you select your text or subject?

ASK GOD FOR IT. The best texts and topics are those which a man get on his knees. No one should ever prepare a sermon without first going alone with God, and there definitely seeking His wisdom in the choice of a text or topic.

KEEP A TEXT BOOK. I do not mean the kind that you buy, but the kind that you make for yourself. Have a small book that you can carry in your vest pocket, and as subjects or texts occur to you in your regular study of the Word, or in hearing others preach, or in conversation with people, jot them down in your book. Oftentimes texts will come to you when you are traveling somewhere or going about your regular work. If so, put them down at once. It is said that Ralph Waldo Emerson would sometimes be heard at night stumbling around his room in the dark. When his wife would ask him what he was doing he would reply that he had a thought and he wanted to pin it. Oftentimes when you are reading a book, a text will come to you that is not mentioned in the book at all. Indeed, one of the best ways to get to thinking is to take up some book that stimulates thought. It will set your own mental machinery in operation. Not that you are going to speak on anything in that particular book, but it sets you to thinking, and your thought goes out along the line on which you are going to speak. Very often while listening to a sermon, texts or subjects or sermon points will come to your mind. I do not mean that you will take the points of the preacher, though you may sometimes do that if you will thoroughly digest them and make them your own, but something that he says will awaken a train of thought in your own mind. I rarely hear a man preach but his sermon suggests many sermons to me. Put but one text or subject on a page of your text book. Then when points or outlines come to you jot them down under the proper text or subject. In this way you will be accumulating material for future use. After a while texts and topics and outlines will multiply so rapidly that you will never be able to catch up with them, and will never be at a loss for something to preach about.

EXPOUND A BOOK IN ORDER. Take a book of the Bible and expound it. You should be very careful about this however, or you will be insufferably dry. One of the best preachers in an eastern State undertook to expound one of the long books of the Bible. He made it so dry that some of his congregation said they were going to stay away from church until he got through that book, they were thoroughly tired of it. Study the masters in this line of work, men like David Oyedepo, David Ogbueli, Benny Hinns and Horatius Bonar. Good fathers accept their role as the spiritual head of the household and set the tone for family worship. Good fathers know God’s word; they have an active prayer life, attend church regularly with their families, and obey God’s commandments.

The Bible lifts up the examples of several faithful fathers: St. Joseph – Jesus’ earthly father was faithful because he trusted the angel when he learned that his fiance, the Virgin Mary was going to give birth to Jesus. He also faithfully moved his family to Egypt when the angel warned him in a dream.

Abraham faithfully believed in God’s promise that his wife Sarah would bear a son at over ninety years of age and he would be the father of a great nation.

The “A” in father stands for Action – Good Fathers are People of Action

Most dads like to watch their sports on television; some have a few hobbies, and engage in some “down time” to relax. Despite occasional laziness, good fathers are men of action, especially when their families need them. Good fathers just don’t sit there, they spring into action when: The toilets overflow, the garbage disposal breaks, or when something important around the house that needs fixing. Good dads know how to get things done; they solve problems, and always rise to the occasion.

Good fathers also instill a good work ethic in their children and teach by example. Children need to see hardworking fathers and good fathers challenge their children to learn through activity. A family is a Gift from God
Next to my salvation and my relationship with God, nothing is more important to me than my relationship with my family. I am very blessed to have grown up in a healthy, spiritual family. My parents were saved before my birth, and early in my infancy they started attending a Bible preaching church. That Bible preaching and teaching helped them in their marriage and certainly helped them raise their children.


Having studied and observed the family of my mentor, I got these five thoughts of raising a godly family.

No matter what your family situation is, I would like to share five thoughts that will help you guide your family in the ways of the Lord.

1. We should live for the future in our families.

Every decision we make as believers ought to be made with the thought of how that choice will impact the future of our family. The reason many families are in a mess is because they make decisions based on the moment and not on the long term.

2. Live with a short memory toward mistakes of the past.

Forgiveness for past transgressions and mistakes is essential in every family. While we might be hurt and bear marks from the past, God forgives us, and we must forgive one another.

3. Love your children unconditionally.

It doesn’t matter how old they are; your children are still your children and are to be loved. You might not like their choices, and you might not be able to approve of their lifestyle; however, they still need to know they are loved.

4. Continually pray for your family.

The devil is very smart, and he is constantly looking for ways to divide. It is important that we pray a hedge of protection around our marriage and our children. I pray every day, and at times throughout the day, for my wife, children, and grandchildren.

5. Live in such a way that your children are never ashamed to say that you are their parent. My friend's dad died a few years ago, and before he died he always tell me that he has never been ashamed to call him his dad. He lived a credible and very authentic Christian life. I want to personally leave my children and grandchildren the same legacy!
