spiralwedge: True, but how?
Best way to protest these things are through organised labour unions, but they are rather chasing shadows fighting for about 15% of the people at the detriment of the rest.
Public servants torment the people at their duty posts (civil servants and politicians alike). This strike adds to the woes of the helpless masses and has zero benefits to them.
At this point of austerity, the best of strike actions should be a collective one that benefits all and sundry, such as fuel, foodstuffs, roads, dollar rates, etc Labour Union can not protest against the salaries of politicians. Only the people can do that. Labour is only acting within its purview |

We should be on strike for fuel, better education and cheaper universities, good roads etc . Not for civil servants wages! Actually the money they should use to do those good things you mentioned goes into their private account balance and you couldn't protest |

LilMissFavvy: I didn't know issue of room can be a problem to a man. Most men who build houses usually include a room for their wife. Some who can afford renting enough space give madam a room, but here is a man, whining over nothing. Way back, my mum had her room, so the so called tradition that couples must share a room is not true. Lack of money is what make couples squeeze themselves into one room.
Majority of well to do modern women have huge baggages of clothes, shoes, make-up tables etc, so what size of room would be enough to contain a rich woman's properties?.
After marriage she can always go stay in another room to have her quiet time, or would he not allow it? Looks like the man is a narcissist. It's not lack of money as you have stated. Marriage is a companionship. And for the relationship to be more intimate, there is serious need for the couples to stay together in a room, see their unclothedness together, hug as many times as possible, kiss as many times as possible, touch the each other without permission, feel each other sexually. All these work together to cement the relationship between the couples. So the idea of staying separately is not what you stated up there. It's far from it. |

JudasNaKarrot: Labour lost it the moment they agreed to suspend the strike. The government is a criminal government headed by a drug lord mafia.
They have successfully broken the Labour, next will be to use the courts, religious and ethnic propaganda if the organised Labour tries to go back to strike.
Nigerians deserve the kind of leaders we (s)elect. and now, they have approved 300% increase in the monthly pay of the Judiciary officers |

seguntijan: Use your heads. President Tinubu CANNOT dictate the salaries of Senators or Representatives. They are a separate, independent and self-financing arm of government. They can even impeach the President. The President cannot even determine Judges salary. If the NLC is not happy with their pay, then they should face them. They should not make the rest of us pay for their beef with Senators or the National Assembly. Ask for something reasonable, like ₦75,000, and almost 100% of the populace will support you. how can we reduce the salaries of the rep and senators |

TimeManager: What consequences?, pls stop joking!. FG can pay any amount but can your state governors and private employers able to pay?. Can Ajaero pay his driver 494k?. If Labour is not being careful, government will be forced to retrench workers and private employers lay off their staff and nothing labour can do about it.
--Kiss the truth! Though everyone may not get it, but if you understand the circular flow of money you will understand that this will likely go round. Presently sellers are experiencing low demands as people do not longer have money to buy things. Artisans too are affected as people have stopped buying somethings, and this affects companies too. |

Think about the trader, the private sectors who can't pay, the gatman.
Prices of items. Coz I know a bag of rice will be close to 400k as well...
We need price control. Price control. Reduction I price of goods.. Price control is okay, but do you know that companies now spend huge amount for production and you would not expect them to charge below cost of production...... right now companies are leaving because people's purchasing power have been reduced and their products are now wasting as a result of reduced demand........ |

Image123: And your clue is a minimum wage of about half a million naira for federal workers. it's not bad for an average worker in Nigeria......how much is the equivalence in dollar? Compared to how it was during the past years. Do you know how the minimum wage of common south Africa? Go to ordinary Morocco. When minimum wage was 30,000 in many years back, a bag of rice was around 12,000 and utility bills were lesser, even fuel cost was around 100 per litre...... and a bag of rice is now 80k, I know you know all these, yet you still chose to reason otherwise. Don't go outside to talk like this because you can get beaten, you get it? |

Image123: Did you think about how the government would be able to afford anything more? Would you rather they start to owe months of salary and borrow from World Bank and IMF to pay salaries? Do you think of the implications on inflation? Do you think that state governments and private institutions which are the greater percentage would pay up to 60k for minimum wage? You have no clues about the economy |
