Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has said the state was not impacted by the recent power shortage experienced in parts of Nigeria, attributing Abia’s resilience to its control over critical electricity assets.
Speaking on the development, Otti explained that a significant portion of the state’s power infrastructure is under Abia’s authority, enabling uninterrupted electricity supply despite wider national challenges.
Reacting to the development, VDM expressed displeasure over the ridicule directed at the president, stating that he found it inappropriate to mock an elderly leader over such an incident. He urged Nigerians to show empathy, comparing the situation to how people would react if their own fathers were involved.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlT5X5esjz8 Nigerian social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has criticised Nigerians who mocked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after he briefly stumbled and fell during an official engagement in Turkey.
The incident occurred in Ankara, where President Tinubu was walking alongside his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, when he momentarily missed his step and fell. The video of the incident quickly circulated online, triggering mixed reactions across social media platforms.
Reacting to the development, VDM expressed displeasure over the ridicule directed at the president, stating that he found it inappropriate to mock an elderly leader over such an incident. He urged Nigerians to show empathy, comparing the situation to how people would react if their own fathers were involved.
“A lot of you are laughing at the president. I wouldn’t, because he is older than my father and older than a lot of your fathers on social media. If your father falls, will you laugh at him? The answer is no,” VDM said.
While condemning the mockery, the outspoken critic maintained that the incident raised legitimate concerns about President Tinubu’s physical fitness. He noted that falling is not exclusive to the Nigerian leader, referencing similar incidents involving other world leaders, including former United States President Joe Biden.
“I believe there are many things you can criticise him for, but laughing because he fell makes no sense. Is he the only leader that has ever fallen? No. Look at Joe Biden,” he added...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L5788_MzXM Controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo has reacted to a video made by Davido’s father, Dr Deji Adeleke, concerning the ongoing paternity controversy involving the singer.
In her reaction, Olunloyo criticised Dr Adeleke for allegedly involving her autistic son in the matter, stating that she would not tolerate any situation where her child is dragged into public controversy.
She further claimed that she was responsible for opening Anu’s Instagram account before leaving Nigeria and later handed over the login details to the girl.
Speaking further in a video, Olunloyo addressed Anu’s mother, Ayo, and Davido’s alleged involvement. According to her, Ayo told her she slept only with Davido and not with multiple people, insisting that she was communicating directly with the singer. Olunloyo, however, alleged that her investigation showed Davido may have used his cousin B-Red’s phone to communicate with Ayo before the encounter.
Olunloyo also made unverified claims regarding autism within the Adeleke family, alleging that Dr Deji Adeleke has two autistic children and that Davido’s twins are also autistic.
She stated that her interest in the matter is centred on Anu’s wellbeing, explaining that she opened a savings account for the child and has been setting money aside for her future. According to Olunloyo, Anu will gain access to the account when she turns 18.
Additionally, she claimed she attempted to raise funds for the child and enrolled her in school, paying for her first year’s tuition.

Nigeria’s vice-captain, Victor Osimhen, says the Super Eagles are fully confident, united, and focused ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final clash against host nation Morocco.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Osimhen dismissed any suggestion that the team is under pressure, stressing that the players view the match as an opportunity rather than a burden.
“The Super Eagles are approaching this game with confidence, not fear. For us, this is an opportunity, not a burden,” the Galatasaray forward said.
Osimhen acknowledged the high expectations from Nigerian fans but noted that the squad is drawing strength from their unity and belief in one another.
“We understand what our people expect from us, and we respect that. But we also believe in each other, and that collective belief is what drives us,” he added.
Reflecting on Nigeria’s journey to the semi-finals, Osimhen attributed the team’s success to discipline, resilience, and togetherness.
“Our progress in this tournament has been built on hard work, resilience, discipline, and unity. Now our focus is on executing the game plan and giving our best on the pitch,” he said.
Nigeria will face Morocco in a high-stakes semi-final with a place in the AFCON final on the line.

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has launched a scathing attack on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the opposition party as a “swamp” and predicting further defections by key figures.
Speaking during a media engagement, Fayose claimed that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed would eventually leave the PDP for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as internal crises continue to weaken the party.
“The PDP is a swamp. Governor Makinde and Governor Bala will go to the ADC,” Fayose said. “This party is no longer what it used to be.”
The outspoken former governor dismissed calls for his expulsion and that of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, insisting that the PDP lacks the moral and political authority to sanction them.
“The PDP cannot expel people like Governor Wike and me,” Fayose stated. “Ironically, the majority of those who accused us of anti-party activities are now in the APC.”
Fayose further lamented the state of the party, saying it has become irreparably divided and ineffective as an opposition force.
“PDP today is a cloth torn into two halves and of no use to either side,” he said.
His remarks come amid persistent leadership disputes, defections, and internal realignments within the PDP, raising concerns about the party’s cohesion ahead of future elections.
Political analysts say Fayose’s comments reflect growing frustration among senior party figures and underscore the deepening cracks threatening the PDP’s relevance on the national stage.
