Indeed, Wike called him a fool, and the soldier simply replied, “I’m not a fool, sir. I have integrity.”
That line alone finished the argument. You could almost hear sense leaving Wike’s body.
When wisdom failed, Wike switched to the big man script: “You were in primary school when I graduated.”

Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress has called for the dismissal of the soldier who engaged in a heated exchange with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The unidentified soldier had blocked Wike and officials of the FCTA from accessing a portion of land in the FCT.

The officer, claiming he was acting on instructions, told Wike that he would not be allowed on the property. Wike, however, questioned his authority, leading to a heated confrontation.

Reacting on Facebook, Igbokwe questioned who was behind the military officer in challenging the FCT Minister.

He wrote, “Who is this man in uniform? Of what meat is he fed? Who is beating the drum for him? This is unacceptable? His uniform has to be removed.”

He also stationed armed Military Men to protect the illegal development, with the Military Men threatening to shoot anyone who interfere with them.

Today, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, visited the site, after talking to the Chief of Defence Staff on Phone.

Wike Condemns Military Takeover Of Abuja Land, Orders Halt To Illegal Development ...Says Former Naval Chief Behind Encroachment, Vows to Resist Intimidation

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has condemned the alleged illegal takeover of a disputed land in Abuja by military personnel reportedly acting on the orders of a former Chief of Naval Staff, describing the act as lawless and unacceptable.

Wike, who personally visited the site on Tuesday after receiving reports that soldiers had driven away FCTA officials enforcing development control directives, said no individual no matter their former position would be allowed to intimidate government authorities or obstruct enforcement of the law.

“You are aware that the land departments and the Development Control have the mandate to monitor illegal development and land grabbing,” the minister said.

“When this was brought to my attention, I instructed them to ensure that nothing takes place there, as there were no legal documents—no regional approval, no valid acquisition.”

According to Wike, while officials of the Department of Development Control were on site to implement his directive, they were chased away by armed soldiers allegedly acting under the instruction of a retired senior officer.

“I was informed that the soldiers of the military had to chase them away, and I thought they were acting illegally,” Wike said. “Today, while I was in the office, I was called again that the military had taken over the place. I had to come myself to see things. It’s really unfortunate.”

He expressed shock that a person who once held a top military position could resort to such intimidation rather than follow due process.

“I don’t understand how somebody who attained that position cannot approach my office to say, ‘Look, this is what is going on.’ But simply because he’s a military man, he thinks he can use that to intimidate Nigerians. I am not one of those that will succumb to blackmail or intimidation,” the minister said firmly.

Wike also disclosed that when the FCTA officials demanded documents to justify the occupation, none were produced.

“The Director of Development Control said, ‘Bring the documents’ they don’t have them. ‘Bring approval for building’ they don’t have it. How can we continue to allow lawlessness to prevail? What about those who don’t have the military behind them? What about ordinary Nigerians?”

The minister maintained that the FCT Administration would not tolerate the misuse of military power to obstruct legitimate urban regulation, stressing that the rule of law must apply to all.

“I have spoken to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff. They assured me that the matter will be resolved. We’re not here to have a shootout with anybody or cause chaos,” Wike said.

“But I will not allow this to happen. The same way we enforce our laws in other areas is the same way it will be done here. Nobody whether a former Chief of Naval Staff or anyone else will be allowed to carry out illegal development on government land.”

Wike reaffirmed his commitment to restoring order and accountability in Abuja’s land administration, warning that the FCTA would continue to reclaim encroached areas, no matter how powerful those involved may be.

I lost my polling unit because I refused to buy votes, says LP's Moghalu

George Moghalu, the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the Anambra governorship election, has explained why he lost in his polling unit in Uruagu Ward 1, Nnewi north LGA.

At polling unit 017, which has 463 registered voters, only 86 were accredited for the November 8 governorship election.

Chukwuma Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, led the unit with 57 votes, while Moghalu of the LP secured 22 votes.

Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in the Anambra election, Dr. George Moghalu, has rejected the result of the November 8, 2025 poll in which incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking to journalists in his Nnewi office on Sunday, less than six hours after the official declaration of results, Dr. Moghalu said he was dissatisfied with the conduct of the election and alleged that several irregularities occurred during the process.

He claimed that the exercise was marred by what he described as widespread vote buying and reports of underage voting in some areas.

“The November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, in my view, fell short of expectations. I hereby reject it in its entirety,” he said. “I have contested in previous elections, but this one was different. The level of vote buying was alarming.”

Dr. Moghalu further alleged that minors were seen in possession of voter cards and that some were allowed to vote.

“Children who were not supposed to be carrying voter cards were openly seen with them and allowed to vote,” he claimed. “These are issues that raise questions about the integrity of the process.”

He also said he received reports from his team that in some polling units the LP name appeared on the ballot paper without the party’s logo, making it difficult for voters to identify the party’s position on the ballot.

Moghalu stressed that he would make a more detailed statement after receiving a comprehensive report from his agents across the state.

“Once I get the full report of the election, we will analyse it and then determine our next course of action. But one thing is clear: I reject the result,” he said.

When asked whether he planned to challenge the outcome in court, he declined to give a definitive answer, saying it would be premature to make that decision without reviewing all reports.

Responding to claims that some LP agents were not present at certain polling units, he said some may have left out of frustration over situations they observed during voting.

Christianity EtcRe: Adeboye: Order Service Chiefs To Defeat Terrorists In 90 Days Or Resign by BlessedGift(op): 6:12am On Nov 09, 2025
“What should we do now? If I was asked to make suggestions, I will say quietly to our government: move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely. Find a way to convince the President of America to please delay his actions for about 100 days, and then come home and tell our security chiefs to get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.

BlessedGift:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAO3ISQ8gNI
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged President Bola Tinubu to act swiftly, wisely, and diplomatically in addressing the growing concerns about the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.

Speaking during November Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption City camp ground, Adeboye said that the government must adopt a balanced and strategic approach to the security challenges confronting the nation.

“If I am asked to make suggestions, I will say quietly to the governments to move wisely, diplomatically,” he said. “I have cousins. There were times in Nigeria when Christians and Muslims were living together. I have families that are Muslims till date. When I was little, I ate sari with them, and I still eat my breakfast, but the issue of religion started when politics came into religion.”

Adeboye explained that he had previously advised past presidents privately on security and religious matters but emphasised that such efforts were limited since only the Commander-in-Chief has the power to take decisive action.

“All the presidents who were around when this trouble started, whatever I discussed is top privacy. I have done my best behind the scene, but as I have always told you, you can only advise a Commander-in-Chief; you cannot command him. But I have tried. God is my witness.”

The cleric then outlined what he would do if given the opportunity to advise the government again.

“What should we do now? If I was asked to make suggestions, I will say quietly to our government: move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely. Find a way to convince the President of America to please delay his actions for about 100 days, and then come home and tell our security chiefs to get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.”

He recalled a similar directive issued by former President Muhammadu Buhari, which he said was not effectively followed through.

“There was a President, Buhari, who issued such an order. He called the service chiefs together and said, ‘Get rid of these Boko Haram people or resign.’ He ran with that advice but he did not follow through because he gave the order as the Commander, but he did not follow up. The work was not done after three months, so I went to see him. I asked him, ‘Why did you not proceed with your threat?’ One thing came out of the meeting which will lead me to the advice.”

Adeboye further advised that any new order from President Tinubu to the military should go beyond fighting insurgents to targeting their financiers and backers.

“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, he should make it clear to them they are not only to eliminate the terrorists but also eliminate the sponsors, no matter how influential they may be.”

He also cautioned that Nigeria should tread carefully in its diplomatic dealings with global powers, warning that no foreign nation would come to its rescue if conflict escalates.

“When I say our leaders should move diplomatically, we must take note of the fact that if America should attack us, China is not coming to defend us. Likewise Russia and Britain. All the so-called world leaders, they will talk and condemn what America has done, but they won’t help us.”

Adeboye emphasised that the moment called for action rather than debate or excuses.

“This is not the time to joke. This is not the time for grammar, not time to argue, is it suicide or kidnap? This is not the time to say it’s not Christians alone, Muslims are also involved. Innocent people are dying.”

The cleric said he was nearly moved to respond publicly after hearing a recent speech by President Tinubu, whom he referred to as his in-law, particularly the portion that painted a positive picture of the security situation in the country.

“I almost spoke last month when I heard the speech of my in-law (Tinubu), particularly that section that spoke about security. I heard him saying, all is well now, that displaced people have returned to their villages. I almost said the one who wrote that speech does not like him. Somebody wrote it, but it was the President who read it. There are several people around Tinubu who are not telling him the truth. The following day we read that a traditional ruler was killed in Kwara or Kogi.”

Adeboye stressed that the current administration inherited a longstanding crisis but must now focus on concrete solutions.

“Our President inherited this problem. I am an applied mathematician; I am only interested in getting the problem solved.”

He restated his earlier call for diplomacy with the United States, suggesting that the Nigerian government should engage with U.S. President Donald Trump for a temporary reprieve while demanding accountability from security chiefs.

“Let the government use diplomatic methods to convince Trump to give us 100 days of grace to call our service chiefs to perform within three months or resign. Now, where do you come in?”

Adeboye concluded on a note of hope, reminding his congregation of God’s promise of peace despite turbulent times.

“I shared with you, my children, that God said this will be a remarkable year, that the wind blowing last year will be more violent this year. Any time we have meetings like this, God picks the topic. By this time next week, we will be having the Holy Ghost service in Abuja. He gave us the theme, ‘Fear not,’ that months ago before Trump spoke. One way or the other, there will be peace again in Nigeria.”
