TravelLagos Airport Completely Transformed In Just 2 Years - Tourist Hails Nigeria by BlessedGift(op): 10:28am On Apr 11

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWSCnpneT7s
A Ugandan traveler has sparked conversations online after sharing her improved experience at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria. According to her, unlike two years ago when airport staff allegedly demanded dollars and other foreign currencies, her recent visit was smooth, professional, and free of any form of extortion. This development raises important questions: Is Nigeria finally addressing long-standing issues at its international airports? Are recent reforms delivering real results? In this video, we break down: Past complaints about Nigerian airports What may be driving this change Whether this is a consistent improvement or an isolated case Nigeria’s global image, tourism sector, and investor confidence all depend heavily on first impressions — and airports are at the center of that experience. Join the conversation: Have you noticed any changes at Nigerian airports? Write a news story

A Ugandan traveler has sparked renewed discussion about service delivery and passenger experience at Nigeria’s major aviation gateway after sharing a noticeably improved experience at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

According to her account, her recent arrival process was smooth, orderly, and professional—marking a stark contrast to her visit two years earlier, when she allegedly encountered airport staff who demanded foreign currency payments. Her latest experience, however, was described as free of any form of extortion or undue interference, suggesting a possible shift in operational standards.

The viral testimony has reignited broader conversations about long-standing concerns previously raised by travelers regarding conduct at Nigerian airports, including issues of unofficial payments, inconsistent customer service, and delays in passenger processing. These concerns have often influenced perceptions of Nigeria’s aviation sector among international visitors.

In response to such criticisms over the years, authorities have introduced various reforms aimed at improving transparency, strengthening oversight, and enhancing passenger experience across international terminals. While official improvements have been reported in some areas, public opinion remains divided on whether these changes are systemic or isolated.

The recent account is now being used by many observers as a case study to assess whether reforms are translating into real-world improvements for everyday travelers. Aviation stakeholders argue that consistent service delivery at entry points like Lagos is critical to rebuilding trust, improving tourism prospects, and strengthening investor confidence.

As the conversation continues online, the key question remains whether this improved experience reflects a sustained transformation at Nigeria’s airports—or a positive exception in an otherwise uneven system.

PoliticsYou Can’t Bully Your Way To Presidency - Shettima Blasts Obi by BlessedGift(op): 7:59am On Apr 09

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7b-a6SZDkA
Vice President Kashim Shettima has said that no one can force their way into Nigeria’s presidency.

In a viral video, Shettima spoke about the nature of Nigeria’s politics, describing it as one that involves many ethnic and religious interests.

According to him, anyone seeking power must connect with people across regions and build strong relationships instead of relying on pressure or threats.

Shettima said he supports the idea of a president from the South-East, explaining that such a move could help address long-standing concerns linked to the Nigerian Civil War.

However, he warned that the approach taken by some supporters from the region is not helpful and may not lead to success.

The Vice President went further to say that there are other individuals from the South-East he believes are more prepared for national leadership than Peter Obi.

He pointed to Rochas Okorocha as someone with strong ties across different parts of the country, noting his experience in both the North and Lagos.

He also mentioned David Umahi, describing his time as governor as one marked by visible development, especially in infrastructure within Ebonyi State.

He said: “In a multi-ethnic, multi-religious politics like ours, nobody can bulldoze his way to power through deceit, lies, intimidation, threats and blackmail. You get to power by building bridges, by reaching out.

“I am for the emergence of a Nigerian president of South-Eastern extraction to heal the wounds of the civil war. But the models of engagement adopted by the delusional audiovisual crowd is condemnable and it will take them nowhere.

“Shehu Musa Yar’Adua crisscrossed the whole of this nation building bridges and when he defeated the late Lateef Jakande in Lagos and Lateef Jakande invited him to a contest, to a popularity contest along the streets of Lagos, he retorted by saying go for that contest with Sarumi because it was Sarumi and co. It was the likes of Sarumi and Bola Tinubu that delivered Lagos during the presidential primaries.

“I believe even in the South-East there are better qualified people to rule this nation than Gregory.

“Honestly, I dare to mention my friend Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha. He was born, bred, buttered and toasted in the North. He speaks Hausa with local fluency. He made his money in the North and in Lagos and he’s at home in all parts of the country.

“We have David Umahi. Yes, you can call him a provincial politician but there’s no governor in the South-East that has performed better than David Umahi. Go to Ebonyi and see the roads constructed by him, then you’ll come to appreciate this great son of Africa.”

Political activist, Aisha Yesufu, has said that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were bribed to remove the leadership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Yesufu said this on Monday during a live interview programme on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’.

The co-convener of BringBackOurGirls Movement also said that there are alleged reports that the INEC Chairman was threatened into his action.

Recall that INEC recently stripped former Senate President David Mark as national chairman of the party.

Airing her own opinion, Yesufu said, “There are reports that INEC officials were allegedly bribed with monies up to $50,000, and lands were given. Where is the EFCC and ICPC in all of this?

The judiciary has turned itself into the plate of corrupt politicians. And that’s not what it should be. You’re having places where houses are being built for them, where all sorts of meetings are going on and stuff like that. Then that’s what worries every one of us.

“My thinking is that one institution should be independent, and if you have institutions that are independent, not the one that you’re hearing people being threatened.

“If there is independence, if there’s accountability, transparency, we don’t have all of these shenanigans going on.

“Let’s all go to court and have whatever it is there, but when you see the institutions, and also the judiciary, have turned themselves into weapon of oppression, willing tool of oppression against opposition parties, then that’s something that worries us, and the democracy of our country.

“This democracy, by the way, many people died for it for us to have what we have today, and we cannot have a few people come and destroy it just because they want to hang on to power that they are not deserving of,” Yesufu stated.

If you take 50 dollars right now in Nigeria, convert it to naira, what you buy from the markets you cannot buy in any West African country. Nigeria has significantly more purchasing power.”

He maintained that ordinary Nigerians are experiencing the benefits of the administration’s policies, especially in the area of fuel availability and pricing.

“Since Bola Tinubu became president, they (Nigerians) have never had to queue at the petrol station to get fuel. Fuel is readily available. Fuel is inexpensive.

“This is the first government that we’ve seen since the Yar’Adua government, where fuel has gone down in price multiple times. Not once, multiple times. So, in their pockets they are feeling it.

“Do not allow yourself to be moved by these people who go to the National Assembly to protest. Those are elites. They are trying to snatch power.

“Right now, we have the second-largest manufacturing capacity in Africa. We have added $67 billion to our GDP in two years,” he said.

Political commentator and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has stated that his role as an ambassador is to serve Nigeria’s interests and not that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Omokri made the clarification amid criticisms trailing his recent engagements and comments on national issues, insisting that his commitment is to the country and not to any individual political leader.
