People just scream of discrimination instead of looking for solution. You have HND and BSC is what you need to get accelerated and continued promotion, why not get the BSC and stop lamenting? I have HND and have acquired other certs since acquiring my HND. The operational guideline that set up the Polytechnic made it inferior to Universities, so we have to deal with it... |

EdCure:I think you are correct, most staff usually get stuck in between hoping for the salary to be paid and resigning, which means forfeiture of salary |

harveyspec:A sinking fund is a fund established by an economic entity by setting aside revenue over a period of time to fund a future capital expense, or repayment of a long-term debt. Insurance companies here practice it more with varying policies e.g children's education, 5 year personal plan, all you do is drop an amount monthly, and you wont access it within a stipulated time frame, lets say 5 years and upon expiration of the period, you get your total sum plus interest. It takes a lot of discipline and determination....but it is achievable...whenever am invited to speak on financial issues, i always cite this example because a friend did it conveniently and i have one myself currently in its 3rd year... |
Whynotthetruth:I must say you have a good heart, but you should be able to draw the line, there is nothing bad in helping others, like the popular saying..."too much of everything is bad" |
At your spare time, y'all can read Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" ...That was how my journey to financial freedom started...You can watch a few of his seminars on youtube, especially the one on "Financial Intelligence" God bless you OP for the insight.... Lastly, always read books on financial intelligence, financial mgt, money etc...they will keep reminding you of the need for financial freedom |
jaybee3:100% correct. It boils down to discipline. I have ATM in virtually all my accounts, i only spend money i want to spend, only critical emergencies and contingencies can make me spend, not even necessities not budgeted for... |
dearpreye:You are welcome man. The problem is that people do not have financial intelligence...I spend time reading on how rich men make money work for them and the general consensus is..."let money work for you, dont work for money".....Recently i invested into a business that was paying me monthly income and i have since recouped my capital and am still getting my monthly emoluments... |
I had a friend who when we started work, got a job with a bank and was saving 100k monthly from his salary into a sinking fund for 5 years, and by the 5th year, he had enough to buy himself a 3 bedroom bungalow just from money he didnt have need for since he wasn't someone who believed in doing business. Though it wasnt easy for him at the beginning, but as time went on, his salary went up and he was able to save more comfortably...while his mates were getting loans to buy big cars and rent 1.5m appartments, he was saving, I cannot tell you how much he has saved since buying his 3 bedroom flat in 2010 and now is an AM in the bank, do the maths... |
MKO4ever:The earlier you dump this believe, the better...I used to feel its easier said than done until i made a conscious effort at liberating myself...I started off by ensuring i partake in monthly contribution (half of my salary) and then i narrowed my expenses to the balance, that was the beginning of my financial freedom, now i have streams of incomes .... |

I SEE NO CHANGE, SAME OLD STORY! |
So there is nobody below 40 on that list....So disappointed! |
Someone should just go and stand in front of the gate and take a picture of him/herself so we confirm the exact location, not all this Alabama, Ontario, Montenegro etc we are all typing here |
We don't seem to see opportunities even when they abound all around us, fear of the unknown is what besets us, the closer opportunity gets, the vague it becomes...true financial freedom comes from entrepreneurship...even if you earn 5m a month, entrepreneurship can give you that money in a day... |
This has made FP 5 times, but why ![]() |

MrBasketball:In my case, i didn't even ask her, she just confessed while we were having sex and from that moment, i knew that was the beginning of the end for us, it was plain simple! |
I had a similar case, but i couldn't come to terms with why she had to sleep with another man, so i called it quit! |
