People have given advice which I feel most are reasonable.

Now my advice. I'm also a graduate like you and I'm preparing to enter school of nursing this year too so I'm going to be very honest with you.t
1) Do u really want to go abroad to be taking care of your uncles child as a his house girl for 2 years like he said?

2) How well do u know this your Uncle? His attitude? and all?

3) I hope you know u will also be cooking and cleaning for him and u can't say No.

4) Since he is a doctor and has his own hospital, can't he employ a Nanny for all of this or is he not making good money as a doctor in America? Or Am I missing something here?

Even here in Nigeria, I know a lady who runs a Daycare and has a workaholic parent (husband and wife) bring their 3 Months old baby to this woman. They pays the Daycare very well for taking care of her baby and the Daycare takes good care of their child. Case Closed.

My question, don't they have Daycare over there?

5) Are ur family members pressurising you to take his offer?

6) Why did he just suddenly remember u out of the blues when u just got admission to pursue your Nursing career?

Think about all these with PRAYERS and make your decision.

There is nothing I hate more than depending on another person's "mercy". How is he sponsoring you? Is there any childcare visa abi wetin? Hope you know human trafficking is real and thriving? Not saying that's what he plans to do but "the heart of man is desperately wicked. Who can know it?"

My dear attend your school of nursing. Its just 3 years and they're not affected by ASUU strike. Rather than wasting 2 years of your life looking after someone else's child for a "vague" promise of sponsorship.
It's even uncle not direct family member, I doubt he can sponsor you under family visa. Do find out from him the route he wants you to apply under.

If you are lucky to get a visa you will be stamped in for 3-6months and if you stayed longer than that you are an illegal immigrant. Once you became an illegal immigrant your uncle has an upper hand, you will be totally under his control.

He is not sending you to any school, if he has the money to send you to school he will use it to employ a nanny for those kids

It's a golden opportunity for you and if you miss it, you just decide to miss it coz your uncle will call another person. He needs your service now if you turn him down the time is coming you will need him too.

Going abroad and being at the mercy of other people is never a good idea, especially if you're a woman. This "uncle" may be a good guy, but what if he's not? There's little she can do in that situation. It doesn't rain money in America.

Nursing is a ticket to anywhere in the world. It almost guarantees you a good salary, benefits, and job security. This uncle cannot offer her any of that unless he's rich -- millionaire rich.

If you get nursing training in Nigeria, you can get nursing work almost anywhere, including the US.

which visa is he bringing you on Is it visiting or nanny visa. The average American take student loans to go to school. Your uncle has bills, mortgage to pay. Unless he is a doctor or one top earning man he cant pay your fees and you wont qualify for loans. They may even advise you to go marry one older man for paper. Shine ya eyes

I recently graduated from the university and i got admission in school of nursing here in Nigeria.


I have an uncle who is based in USA and he wants me to come over to USA and take care of his child for two yrs.After two yrs,he will sponsor me to any school of my choice n within the two yrs,i will be doing part time program.

I will be 25yrs this year.

Should i continue with my nursing school which will be resuming on April or accept the offer.I am in a dilemna.

I love eating cooked corn with African pear, hence I use to buy raw ones to save cost. I feel that corn sellers sell prepared ones for inflated prices because customers have no choice than to buy from them. So I buy raw ones and take home with cooked corn, to sit down and enjoy myself.

Sorry for the late response, Yes the form is still available. You can apply through lodlc.lautech.edu.ng. Since you have HND in computer science, you should be consider for admission into 300 level and you will to spend 2 years (i.e 300l and 400l)
