Tank uu PETERSHOR: Instead of being confused by people's responses, why can't you take your case to the King of Kings. John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” All of man's questions of life are answered in this verse. This can make you in life if you follow God's will. Shalom! |

Tanks Poleski: I know a few nurses today who are owed many arrears in salary and are poor. If you really trust your uncle, then take his offer, but make sure he'll not give you an ordinary visa.
Make sure it's a permanent residence visa (green card). This will help you find your way comfortably (and not be deported) if he fails to fulfill his promise. |

Tank u very much omasa: Am a nurse here in the United States. I got my nursing certification from Nigeria and it was like a golden ticket to travel. Many agencies will rush you. Nurses here are comfortable. To school here as a nurse is very expensive and I don't know if your uncle is willing to pay for that. There is nothing as better as being independent here. No one I repeat absolutely no one wants a liability. Best thing will be to pray about it and let God lead you. |

Congrats solaty: When you have a dream, you've got to grab it and never let it go — Carol Burnett
I congratulate myself today, as I shine out to be the Best Graduating Student, Geology Department, Federal University of Technology Minna. I am the first girl in my family to have come this far and it matters to me! It's a credo that dreams are valid if we have courage to pursue them. I was raised in a kind of community that has not much keen interest in girl-child education but yet I kept the believe and remain resolute to my dreams. Today, I feel proud to be inspiration to girls in my town (SAKI) that they can achieve their dreams too.
It all started 9yrs ago at The Polytechnic, Ibadan before proceeding to Federal University of Technology Minna as direct entry student. Although the journey was really rough but I didn't give up. In the darkest moments, I was focused to see the light. The moment I deemed the toughest as a Student Nursing Mother, amazingly turns out to be the simplest when I bagged on 5.0 semester cgpa. The rigor of combining motherhood with education poses great challenge to student nursing mothers but with grit, grace and style I triumph against all hurdles. I return my glory to the most exalted.
I give thanks, adoration and utmost gratitude to Almighty Allah for making this long journey a success. My undiluted appreciation goes to my parents ( Mr and Mrs Abdrasaq) for their support. I commend the efforts of my dear husband Iyiola Mubarak Oladimeji, you are God sent in my life. My appreciation is never complete if I fail to salute the efforts of my mentor Maranroola Isiaka Olaniyi, indeed you are a great man. To everyone who have supported me along the journey, who have invested in me to be better and trusted me, may God positively reward you all.
I see this as a completion of one phase in life at the same time beginning of new chapter. I pray May Allah put Barakah in it and more wins to come my way.
Thanks to my friends and family.

Tank u nervorum: Depends on what you really want; join the 'abroad wagon' now now or education. Whatever the case, grabbing the schl of nursing offer maybe the easiest route. With schl of nursing, you can still get to that America on your own terms, at worse, to the UK. The 2 years you would use baby sitting would push you more than half way thru nursing training. If you go to the US now, say, on a visitors visa to help your uncle, even when you start any form of college education, you may not be eligible to free or 'home tuition'
Sometimes the best route is usually not the shortest.
You have a potentially fantastic opportunity with the offer of nursing education. Don't tie your destiny to the promises of a mortal. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To USA Or School Of Nursing??pls Advice Me. by Blissbath(op): 7:38pm On Feb 01, 2022 |
Tank u nervorum: Aunty, calm down. Don't be carried away by his profession or practise.
It's exciting to emigrate now, especially when you have an opportunity.
Take the schl of nursing offer. You'r alrdy 25. You would still land in the US with any form of nursing education from Nigeria, ON YOUR OWN. TERMS.
What will you do if he doesn't send you to schl?
Don't be deceived by those who say you'd get student loan for education while you're there, the reality maybe different cos of your visa status. |

Tank you very much sir...I will get back to you when I am done. hosey: You are welcome. I am resident abroad and talking from experience. They usually show all these immigration palava on TV.
What your uncle wants to you to do is illegal and he will use you as a nanny slave and sex object for him and his freinds. This is also prevalent in Asia communities.
Graduate in Nigeria and obtain work experience. Then I will connect you to my friend that works with NHS in UK.
Note that you must have nursing work experience and pass the UK exam. After 5 years of working, you can apply for UK Permanent residency and Citizenship. Your husband and children will also get citizenship.
You are 25 in your prime. Use this time to get your husband in Nigeria. Most high value men do not want women above 28 years old irrespective of your status . In abroad, it is very hard for black girls to marry due to racial stereotype.
Let me know when you have graduated and acquired nursing experience. Get married and don't risk your future for slavery.
Your uncle is a wicked man. Someone that have never visited you and he wants you to be a nanny for free. Tell him to sponsor your Nursing education first in USA and see how he will fleece away. He is a poor man looking for free labour for survival. |

I replied... tanks metalgear11: This is a very dicey situation and many points have to be answered before you make your final decision.
1. Your uncle wants you to come to take care of his children. In America today, people really need childcare especially in this COVID era. That's his primary concern, not your education. How sure are you that he will sponsor your education as he said when the time comes? Childcare here in the US is EXPENSIVE.
2. How are you going to come? Like someone said, are you coming as a visitor? I hear getting visas other than student is a daunting task now and that interviews are backed up until 2024,, and there's even no assurance you will be granted a visa. Are you willing to hold your education on the premise that he will "sponsor" your education after two years?
If I were you, rather than wait, I will enroll in Nursing school. Getting into the US these days is not as easy as it was before. Don't build your future based on mere promises. Get your qualifications first, then write your NCLEX exams. You will have a better chance that way than to come empty handed. Nurses are in high demand here in the US. I know that cos my mum is an RN here and i know how much she makes. Your uncle's priority is his children, not you. |

Tanks chaloskyx: hanty think well o cause you see once you dont have legit papers in the us you are forever held captive by ur uncle you cant work etc so if he decides not to send you to school you would be helpless and shame would not want you to come back to Naija also you cant leave his house cause if caught you would be deported. ask yourself why hasnt the so called uncle sent his kids to day care and hes looking for the cheaper option of bringing a house girl from Nigeria to save his costs? o yes you are a house girl o even lower than that cause he wont pay you you would also cook clean the house do groceries and clean after his kids better do your nursing school then relocate to us or Canada who recruit nurses from Nigeria through their immigration programs. your so called uncle does not have good plans for you or wish u well |

Tank you hammed71: Aunty you better stay in Nigeria and finish with your nursing school, Nursing is a hot cake, you will see how opportunities to travel legally abroad will open up for you after you finish your nursing school. Don't mind your uncle and don't let your family pressure you to go. Goodluck |
Travel › Re: Travelling To USA Or School Of Nursing??pls Advice Me. by Blissbath(op): 5:53pm On Feb 01, 2022 |
Tanks Govocrete: I will advise you numerically.
1. Check if truly your uncle owns a hospital. Google is name and cheek on the BBB website to be sure.
***Some years back an American lady was introduced to my friend for marriage, he was told she owns 3 hospitals we later discover it to be false.
2. Due to covid 19, most embassies unofficially suspend visa issuance. They also give denials for those with previous interviews appointment.
***I don't want to mention their names but I know of an embassy that has a 30-month backlog of visa applications. They have decided that throughout 2022 they will only issue visas for undeniable cases, they have decided to use 2022 to restructure their staff and do renovation work.
Given the above, I will advise you to pursue your nursing career and before you know it, you are done. With your nursing certificate, you have something to fall back on and if your uncle is sincere, he can then help you.
3. Signing a contract with your uncle is not advisable.
*** Your uncle may likely use a visiting visa, what if after two years he tell you babe you are on your own. By then you would have overstayed your visiting visa and been branded as an illegal migrant. Do you know the pain of being illegal when caught?
4. If you don't have a passport now, it may likely take you 2-3month to obtain one. Another 3 months to get an interview by then you have wasted a year.
Please pursue your nursing career now you have the time. |
