all4naija: I laugh in Mandarin, the language that is gradually becoming the official language of SA. If you asked me how, I would quickly say I don't know - for the basic reason SA is intentionally romancing China to have say in the BRICS. So, it would do any thing possible to have its voice heard including officially adopting Mandarin. Isn't that funny for a speculation? Bwahaha...

Now you claim Nigerians and their government chased Ghanaians out of the country in the past in the 'Ghana must go' campaign without given us detail information on what lead to that, forgetting that Ghana did it to Nigerians first. Just like what SA is doing to Nigerians in their society today. You wouldn't expect Nigerians to extend hand of respect to them if Nigeria happens to become the superpower of Africa tomorrow. That is it. One good turn deserves another, the English idiom is very clear on that. You can cry me a river if you like about the Ghana-must-go campaign least I care.

Terrorism is a global issue and there is no nation which have totally find a permanent solution to this evils surrounding its doctrine and attacks. There has been terrorism happened in American soil, it has happened in Canada, UK experienced attacks in the past, Tanzania American embassy was bombed one time, Kenya citizens have been maimed and killed in a suicide explosions, including SA and just to mention but a few. If you are trying to spite at us from that perspective you just lost your argument there. Take the time to rethink and think properly about what you are going about. Extremism in Nigeria is mainly religion infiltration that gave rise to people who allowed themselves to be used to cause harms to others. Terrorism comes in different forms and many countries all over the world have experienced it in one form or the other.

The USA cation their citizen about Nigeria for the reason of terrorism and people are being cautioned to avoid SA for reasons of crimes and xenophobic attacks. It is not only USA that would advise its citizens before we will know there is a problem in your country. Instead you keep fooling yourself and think your country is nirvana, which, it is not.

Can you give me the reasons why I have to believe this your claim? That I am waiting for you to explain to us with detailed and factual information.

Thank you.

So your government practises the "eye for an eye tooth for a tooth" principle? wow how democratic. I would be ashamed to quote that about my government if I were you, but I guess that's a norm in Ngria. My point to you is that you have no business labelling my country as xenophobic when xenophobia is practised by your government. in SA it was only the poor who felt that foreigners were after their jobs who practised xenophobic against other African nationals, our government never encouraged it and. if fact the majority of the country was disgusted including me.

I love the way youre quick state that terrorism is a global problem. I cant argue with you on that front it is very true. but the US, Europe and other countries that experience terrorism they normally deal with it and it doesn't involve citizens jumping the border to seek refuge in other countries or does it? they have a database that helps them track down those terrorist cells before they could do some damage even if in some cased they fail. in your country they blow up churches, school children my G@d why would anyone blow up a child in school?. so as I told you before you have no right to label my country as unsafe, your countryman blow up kids in school, its just hypocritical dude. you also claim that people are cautioned to avoid SA because of crime and xenophobia hahahahahahah really dude are you serious right now? tell me which government cautions its citizens to avoid SA because of crime and xenophobia? please just name one.

south Africa has its problems just like every country in the world, I think that's basic knowledge for everyone. but for Nigeria of all countries to have a thread like this is just beyond me, countries who have something better to show can talk all they want about the ills of SA, I wouldn't care less, but not Ngria. the same Ngria that has its nationals living in SA in their thousands, there was a thread here a while back that talked about the long lines of Ngrians at the SA embassy trying to get A VISAS, that same Ngria? im finding it hard to believe. id like to know what inspired this thread, what is the purpose of this thread?
Foreign Affairs / Re: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by blitz8701(m): 8:57pm On Jul 17, 2013
Wow this all4naija character amazes me. Didn't Ngria have a champaign called "ghana must go" a while back? Didn't that involve you people chasing ghana nationals out of you country with the help of you government?

Doesn't the US advise its citizens to stay away from Ngria because of the terrorist elements there? I find it strange that you would say all uve been saying about SA whilst you have nothing to show in your society that's better. B/H is bombing schools left right and center, yet you say ud be concerned about crime when you visit SA hahahahah...how lame. Ngrians are crossing the borders to cameroon as refugees, because of your B/H rash, geezzz dude are you serious right now? You live in a glass house my african brother don't let your country-men that encouraging you're behavior here make you forget that.

The US government doesnt caution its citizens from visiting SA like they do Ngria and that's a fact. Its time to accept that whites laid the foundation and the blacks are building on that. For your info SA belongs to all who live it, that is in our constitution and it will never ever change, stupid, lame and baseless threads like these will never take away the achievements that my people have made whether they are black, white ,green purple etc. Deal with it!

all4naija: This is the reason blacks remained backward and the least developed people on earth, for the simple reasons they fail to take actions and face with realities on ground. Any person that says the truth about the lackadaisical nature of most Africans is quickly labeled as worshiping whites. Such psychological battle is pulling most of us down because we don't admit the truth and face reality to tackle them than blab about color.

My argument is clearly not about race, it is about development and those who are behind them in South Africa, which are white people(the reason I continue to use the word. If other color like the Chinese is the one responsible for the SA development, I will use yellow as the skin color. Just for differentiating purpose only).I don't really know what the fuss is all about here. The reason my comments touch on other African countries is because they have all been one time or the other colonized in the past like some other nations in Asia yet refused to wake up and do something than keep glorifying the failure not to move forward. The ineptitude to state things the way they are and the inability to make changes are among these reasons of waiting tirelessly for others. These really need to be addressed if Africa must move forward than these petty counter comments with baseless evidences being brought into the matter by you as though making inroads.

The truth is that the development of SA is the handwork of the white people and it is one of the reasons why other African countries are not as developed as that nation. That is a complete fact!

I give up, there's no point trying to reasoning with u. You want to tell me about facts? Please... The fact is after 94 a black government has made amazing strides everybody knows that including you, your problem is that you lack humility and you're a very proud individual(u drip with pride). If you think whites are to thank for everything that SA has achieved after 94 so be it, I can't force reality down your throat. I'm done with this thread.

The guy worships white people period, its clear to see. The progress made by a black man is confusing to him. He literally ignored my post. This is 2013 wake up! And witness the black man rise. He reminds of all the western media that thought we would mess up the world cup just because of the colour of our skin. Just come to SA stay a few weeks and come back to nairaland and apologize, we will forgive u. We SAs are famous for that.

Wow I knew you would pull those lines, lines like white people built SA because they wanted to stay here forever and what-not. When whites colonized many african countries that's what they wanted they arrived at a place with no infrastructure and they built roads and churches and houses etc. It was their intention to stay. This happened until we as africans started fighting for freedom and independence, it became hard for them to stay here peacefully so they gave the land back to many african countries and went back home. When they went home they ddnt live those countries in the same condition they found them. Now my dear friend this is where you get confused. Instead of taking control of their countries and moving forward united with one vision, every tribe wanted their man in the driving seat resulting in decades of civil wars and coup plots, which are still happening even in this day and age nigeria was one of those nations and the history that u seem to know so much can attest to that. Now when it comes to SA in this sense we chose to not chase the afrikaaners away because they were now more africans than europeans. It just didn't make any sense to chase them out and many white Europeans and americans helped us fight the apartheid government. Chasing them away only proved one thing and that is we were no more different than they were. They have been here for hundreds of years resulting in them inventing a brand new language (afrikaans) that is more african. Africa is their home and that's that

I will not apologize to you or anyone els for being borne in south africa, in this thread it seems that black people in SA are nothing without white people. U fail to understand that whites laid the foundation, and were as blacks are building SA at such a fast pace that many people get confused "and they know who they are". When I was seven years old my grandma lived in the homelands (areas that were neglected by the apartheid government for years). I used to visit her and I remember that she ddnt have any running water, electricity and paved rodes. But today you wouldn't believe the progress that the ANC a black controlled political party has brought to my grandmas rural community.

Nelson Mandela played a very important role in making sure that we allowed peace to reign instead of being filled with vengeance, greed and tribalizm. He taught us that SA belongs to all who live in it regardless of race, colour or creed. And that my friend is the recipe of our success. Yes not all is well in my beloved country, but were making progress, crime rates are dropping, the fight against HIV is starting to yield results and the middle class is growing each year. There is progress everywhere you look. If you consider that as boasting then I don't know what kind of person you are. If I see something positive in africa I smile and congratulate, some people want to share it with other africans. I see nothing wrong with that. but to you that's boasting.

They say jealousy is love and hate at the same time. I wonder what's your story. Could it be that you hate us?

Thank u (enkosi).

all4naija: I will be coming back to reply this your odd comment all rather excuse! It might not be today but be ready to expect my counter argument to put this your wild views to shame.

Thank you.

Wild views? You're a funny guy you know that. All I've said is truth my friend but you've got too much pride to admit that. What you are doing is not right, in fact its ev#l. Making yourself feel good by putting others down yho! You should be ashamed of yourself, what would your mama say?

Nigeria would be far today if it was united. The sooner people like you realize that the better, I believe that it is people like you who are dragging that country down. You have to see beyond skin colour and different tribes. But I guess telling you that is like talking to a rock. You see white people as Gods, forgetting that they are just like me and you. I live with them here, they are my neighbors and it shocks me to hear a black man like me who praises them so much like you do. So come with you're counter argument I'm waiting in anticipation.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by blitz8701(m): 3:39pm On May 21, 2013
White people played a huge role in developing africa as a whole. We all know that, even nigeria wouldn't be anywhere without white people, we wouldn't be having this conversation on niraland if it wasn't for white people. They have invented a lot of things that we as africans and the rest of the world use currently, even the clothes on our backs is thanks to white people, the english we're able to speak and insult each other here with questions like "where would SA be without whites is thanks to westerners. Yes white people build SA at the backs of black people. But whites taught us how to survive in the modern world and we have used that knowledge to build a better and more improved SA. The white mans development stopped and ceased after 1994. In fact a huge number of them left and a lot of western countries thought the country would go to the dogs, but look at us today, we are stronger than ever.

I've said this before and I will say it again "this thread is stupid, and it has been created by people with envy and jealousy of the progress that has been made by SAs. Was UCT the best university in africa before 1994? NO! Was OR Tambo the best airport in africa before 1994? NO! Did the apartheid government host the first world cup in africa? NO!. White people came to nigeria and left 50 years ago, nigeria has been free for over 50 years, so tell me what do u have to show for it? Keep envying our success and I promise u that u will go no-where. U have a 30year head start before SA gained her freedom. We were freed 30 after u and yet we are 50 years ahead of u,I wonder how that works? Ohw I know tribalizm. The real question that I would start pondering and posting it online afterwards if I were u is "where would nigeria be without tribalism?" Always remember my dear friend "TOGETHER WE STAND DEVIDED WE FALL". And ohw all4naija "white-mans lap dog" this is adressed to u.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by blitz8701(m): 5:47pm On May 16, 2013
I've been looking at this thread for a while now, in fact many threads here on nairaland that involve SAs success. Be it military, health, infrastructure no matter what success we will have nigerians, not all of the ofcorse will not accept it they will always say its thanks to the white SAs. Its like saying those that designed the new nokia lumnia shouldn't be credited for their intelligence and success the only people that need to be praised are those who designed and built the nokia 3310,that's just sad really. Some nigerians don't understand that a black government can achieve what south african blacks have achieved in just ±20 years. When they have been given by our Heavenly Father a 30 year head start. South africa is a rainbow nation and we work together to make a better life for the current and future generation. Tribalism will get u nowhere, the sooner u realize that the sooner ul get one step closer to being the giants of africa. Together we stand divided we fall

there's an saying that goes "u can take a horse to the river but you can't force it to drink", no matter how hard u try my SA brothers to convince our nigerian in this thread if they told themselves when entering this thread that they want to prove SA wrong in all their posts ur attempts will just be futile. The evidence is there that SA is #1 in many aspects in africa. We have done the impossible in less than 20 years. Im not saying were perfect, ofcorse were not, we have our flaws no country is perfect. We went to CAR unprepared but we stood our ground and fought thousands of rebels just like the american rangers went to somalia and fought thousands of rebels and were defeated even though they never surrendered.
The thread is good though to anyone who wants to learn more on either SAs or Nigerian military strength. I'm living proof coz I'm learning a lott abt military hard wear and tactics. Let's tone down on the insults though. Happy threading my brothers.

When heitman told of how SA soldiers fought bravely in car against all odds resulting in car rebels asking for a cease fire to end the battle that resulted in car rebels suffering casualties of more than 400 many nigerians were quick to dismiss him as feeding the rest of the world with BS, now all of a sudden u quote him to advance your argument...how typical.

Its funny how now the SA media and Heitman is now all of a sudden used as referencing by nigerians, when a couple of months ago nigerians on this forum labeled both the sa media and mr heitman as full of it (propaganda that is). Well all I can say is that the media and mr heitman are nt all knowing oracles of the SANDF,we just for now need to sit back and watch what will happen when a rebel army fights a government that has many years of combat experience and air support with air servalence drones. No matter how experienced u are in so called jungle warfare if u come against an army that has an effective artillery, ul loose hundreds of fighters, they will first shell the h#ll out of u then move in to finish u off. The un is behind us and the AU. What air force does m23 have? Do they have body armor? Night vision etc? I'm nt saying SA will nt suffer casualties ofcorse they will bt SA will kill thousands of those rebels u just watch and see. I'm sure M23 is used to seeing SANDF soldiers in i riding around in white UN vehicles and poorly equipped. Now they will face special forces, fighter jets, and helicopter gun ships. I'm no expert in military stuff bt I can reason. U have to understand that SA is nt only fighting to eliminate rebel elements in the DRC which is very important ofcorse bt we are also fighting to regain our pride that we lost marginally in the car. Were fighting for our pride. In order for our troops to be respected again in africa we have to defeat these bandits.
They may have all that hard wear listed by the sunday times bt is it sustainable? Is it enough to defeat a government? We have to win this war or our foreign policy will go to the dogs.

That's all I wntd to say. If any of you choose to insult me you won't get a reply from me.

Africans will always kill each other, the international community has accepted that. The same way they have accepted that afghans will die from drone strikes every now and then, and that iraq will have at least one suicide bomber killing scores of people whilst doing their shopping. The media understands that people need to hear what they are not used to than hear something that has been happening over and over again for the past 3 years. That's just my personal opinion I stand to be corrected.

all4naija: Hehehe... grin grin grin grin grin My ribs hurt for laughing hard and loud! Before SA was known many parts of Africa have been trading with outside world. You forget to talk about the Cradle of civilization, Egypt. Don't be fooled by your infrastructural development. When it comes to history and recognition SA is on the low side of the scale.

Country like Ethiopia, Libya, Tunis have been exposed to the outside world for long with good historical outlooks before your over-bloated country. In fact, the name Africa originated from that region. Mind you, Europeans dwellers had settlements in these parts of Africa for long time and their civilization is seen around cities and towns in parches.

Please, stop alluding to false information your country is instilling in you. Get out of your country's comfort zone and step into other parts of Africa to understand how uniquely diverse the continent is despite it is riddled with faces of poverty and poor development.

I must be fooled by infrastructure! Are you for real? Have u ever even been to SA before, I personal don't think so. SA's infrastructure has improved substantially during the past 19 years after white minority rule. We have a better economy after we inherited a bankrupt country from the afrikaaners, we have an improved transport system, the best airports in africa, a dependable health care system etc. all that I've mentioned here my dear friend happened after we got rid of a white government and replaced it with africans who are just like you. Stop worshiping white people its sick really. Now that I've mentioned what black people who don't see themselves as less intelligent than white people did after independence what has the giants of population done for her people since independence FIFTY YEARS AGO? rather than drill for oil and hand it over to your white masters, and ofcorse bomb each other every month?

Don't give me history lessons my friend especially when your history is plagued by nothing but wars amongst your people, u telling me about Egypt and all them, what about nigeria? What has nigeria done in modern times for africa? I say modern because I know you wont be able to resist playing the "WE HELPED YOU DURING APERTHAID card. SA bought the world cup to africa for the first time, SA has the biggest economy in africa, produce one of the best wines in the world, are part of the BRICS nations, have the only high speed train in africa etc...the truth is unlike doing what was expected of us and chasing white people out of the country like many african countries did we chose to forgive them, with the help of my hero ofcorse MR Mandela 'the giant of africa'. SA belongs to all who live in it and we have equal rights and opportunities but you have to live here to see that. We chose to forgive and forget and look where we are today, we have achieved the impossible, and people like u who can't understand our achievements come up with stupid questions like "where would SA be without white people" please! Just tell us the truth, you envy what SA black people have and what they have achieved this is just a smear campaign by you and you alone coz not all nigerians share ur sorry state of mind thinking that white people are superior to blacks, that's not the way of thinking in the year 2013. If you said that in the early 90's I'd let it slide but not now. "Imanstipate yourself from mental slavery" BOB Marley.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Blacks Are Educated To Feel Inferior - Dr Bedford Umez by blitz8701(m): 1:48pm On Feb 01, 2013
fellis: ^That isn't just a theory. Black people are actually covertly being taught to believe that they are inferior mostly through the use of mass media. How many times have you actually seen any of these major foreign television stations potray Africa in a good light? It is always one depressing story or another. If they are not broadcasting news about the wars in some African countries then they are showing images or footage of starving and dying poor Africans.
Even when it comes to giving awards for literary work, you would notice that it is mostly the African authors that write on the darker sides of their countries that get international renown ( Chimamanda for instance). There are deliberate attempts to keep Africans down by downplaying their successes and highlighting their failures, that is the truth it is not a theory.

I'm sorry my brother but I'd have to disagree with what you have said above. I can tell you of shows on cnn,bbc and algezera where they tell positive stories about africa that are uplifting and they show us africans that things are not as bad as we africans think they are, to quote a few, we get shows like african voices and inside africa from the cnn, north 2 south from algezera etc. Also I don't understand you when you complain about the western media showing starving and malnourished- children, remember that no other continent in the world actually starves more than the africans do. Its just my opinion my brother I don't mean to start any commotion, that's just the way I see it
