Renowned Nigerian preacher Apostle Joshua Selman has addressed societal and religious pressures around marriage, stating that choosing to remain single will not condemn anyone to hell. Speaking during a sermon, he urged people not to marry out of fear or obligation, but rather by conviction and purpose.
It's better to marry than to burn..don't let anybody give u a fight u can't win...didnt sleep with a woman till I was 25yrs in a space of 2yrs I slept with over 5ladies..2 virgins 3 non virgins all over the age of 24yrs The oldest 36yrs
For men dress neat, smell nice, speak clearly and boldly,be physically fit, smile often, have a nice apartment and car, have a good trade or profession, make money for urself not to impress any gal, and have good height dis one na follow come nothing u wan do abt that one.

As they are usually desperate at that period of their life, they are prone to be easily deceived and exploited by hawks and scavengers masquerading as potential suitors
May Baba God continue to protect such ladies, most especially those good ladies in that category, who out of no fault of their own, are still single even though they desire marriage
Amen
In my early 30s I saw first hand how desperate those ladies are..at work..in church..outings...some will come out plainly and ask a guy out...some will give Greenhithe that even the blind can see it, I just wish the good ones among them find their soul mate.
DyshApp: A hot take from Apoorva Govind, CEO of Bestever, has gone viral, pulling over 10 million views on X (formerly Twitter), and it’s shaking up conversations on modern dating.
Reacting to a Wall Street Journal article titled “American women have never been this resigned to staying single,” Govind claimed many single women in their 30s are looking for the perfect man that doesn’t exist.
Her words:
She blamed media and dating apps for feeding unrealistic expectations, adding that the abundance of matches makes it seem like there are endless good options—when in reality, commitment and flings run on two very different rules.
Her advice?
This hot take has split the internet. Some say she's right, others say she's oversimplifying.
Ladies over 30yrs are a mine field I dey pity for them cos they are so vulnerable..at that point they need to open their eyes clearly cos they might miss it if a man's means them and pretends to be who he is not.
When I dey school I get this son of a billionaire as a classmate...this guy drives the latest car but was always borrowing 5k from my hand..he go refund after 2 days but he dey everyly borrow.. now a politician I won't mention his name but was down to earth very free guy
Death is a mystery no living know anything about it. we can only imagine...it takes a higher power to separate the soul from our mortal bodies that why one has to be careful with the kind of powers or forces one get in contact with or messes with.
Liazz: Am I being unreasonable being mad at my wife? We relocated abroad 3 years ago but she isn't helping to settle any of the bills.
We both are gainfully employed though I earn much than she does. Our monthly expenditure is about £2000 and she doesn't care to help in any way. I foot all bills making me struggle to save while she keeps all she earns to herself. We also had a loan of over 10 thousand pounds to settle when we relocated, she didn't help with a dime till I paid all bits by bits which took me almost 2 years.
Despite this, I still help with house chores like taking care of our kids, home cleaning and even washing dishes though she does all the cooking. I've expressed my displeasure several times but she keeps insisting I can't force her to financially assist, it's my job as I'm the husband. She seems convinced she isn't doing any wrong and no sign of remorse whatsoever.
I financed our relocation 100% without her contributing a dime.
This is causing a strain in the marriage and I am thinking if I am unreasonable in my demand, am I? Your comments are highly welcome.
Your wife wan kpai you..abroad no be nigeria oo especially when she no be full time house wife...na almost 50 50 una suppose run am for abroad if not u no go fit reach that wealthy investor dream of yours u go just kpai cos u go just dey live for billings.
She should hustle and create an enduring investment and prepare for care home. The chance of meeting a single man at that age bracket is almost impossible..probably divorcee, widower, married men or baby daddies...her character go bad.
ruffhandu: Nigerian married women have gone Haywire: This One Is Unheard Of
Caveat: You don't need to watch the video, I'll summarize and give you even more context.
This is the first time I will hear a Nigerian woman desisting from giving birth to a child in Nigeria because she wants to maintain her shape. In Nigeria of all places where childless women are called barren just after one year of marriage, where they face immense pressure from their family, the man's family, and the society at large. A society where they are shamed and looked upon as having lived filthy lives and, in most cases, nobody ever looks the husband's way, the woman is always the first to be blamed.
Now here, a cult disguised as a club where only married women are members. They are coached on how to prevent themselves from getting pregnant so they continue to look elegant and beautiful. Some, like the lady in this video, did not only rely on pregnancy-preventing pills, she did other forms of family planning just to be double sure she doesn't get pregnant.
The reason why I tag the club a coven is that these women are so wicked that they not only pretend to their husbands to be innocent , they most times initiate the moves to go with him in search of solution. The sucker in this act is that it elicits more trust from the husbands and and blinds them from even reasoning clearly. Imagine one of the women prays 3 hours every night for the fruit of the womb, the man was hooked.
One of the men, on one of their numerous visits to the hospital, was called aside by the doctor who had conducted deep tests on the wife and reliably informed the man that the woman had been consuming something that had been preventing her from taking in. Instead of the man to conduct an independent investigation to ascertain the veracity of the claim, he "subtly" confronted the wife, which of course she denied.
The tragedies is this dilemma is that most of the men are taken to white garment churches amongst other places they were taken to (hospital, churches, native doctors, herbalists, etc), where they are flogged. At least in one case, the couple were flogged mercilessly. This has not mentioned the amount of money the man is made to shell out in the search. Some have flown these women abroad in search of solution.
One wise woman, once her dear husband suggested taking a second wife who will bear them children, she covertly got pregnant immediately and tricked her club members. Disappeared for a while, and after delivery, hired a nanny to take care of the child. Five years later, she took in again, hoping to pull off the same stunt. Mind you, the first child was born 10 long years after their marriage.
Advice to men: If medicine has proven that both of you are ok and fit to have a child, and you are still childless, do the following: 1. Be observant to see that your wife does not take anything immediately after sex. 2, If there be any medication both of you should be taking for fertility, make sure she takes her own (they are able to deceive the man that they have taken it. If it is tablet, they hide it in their mouth and shift to dispose of it in the toilet. Another said she consumes another substance that looks similar to the concoction they are given. Like when they are given animal urine, she arranges lucozade or wine, or some soda to drink in his presence.) 3. If you are rich. Arrange for abroad treatment. Find a way to make her accidentally lose her luggage (including her handbag), then while abroad guard her like a toddler to ensure she doesn't visit a pharmacy, then make sure you knack her everyday. 4. If you can, also arrange with a good doctor to ascertain that she is not undergoing any form of family planning (especially the one they implant). 5. If you notice your wife belongs to any association, pry in as know exactly what is going on there. 6. Discuss having a second wife. Many of them rely on the fact that the man may get tired and seek to adopt a child, which they will gladly accept. Honestly, the foolishness of these women beat me. 7. Some of the women said they gave in to the invitation because their husband had emphasised on their shape while they were dating and they feared he may leave them if they lose the shape. To this, I advise men to be subtle about this and help their wife stay fit, WOMEN ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK EXACTLY THE WAY THEY DID AFTER CHILDBIRTH AND BREASTFEEDING, IF YOU GET IT EXACTLY THE SAME BEFORE AND AFTER, NA LUCK.
Advice to Women. 1. If you need to maintain your shape, you know what to do. 2. If you must form a club of married women to war against losing shape, it should be teaching them how to maintain shape after childbirth, don't be foolish and evil. to even think that this club goes about recruiting newly married women is not only self-destructive, it is a crime against the institution called marriage.
Although many things could lead to childlessness, including witches and wizards, village people, God's timing, medical conditions, etc. But this self-inflicted childlessness from women is one thing I do not understand and may never understand. If this is happening in western countries, I won't bat an eyelid. But in Nigeria? Something is definitely wrong. E be many things for these days. These women are worse than the devil. Imagine your wife causing her childlessness, causing you shame, making you spend money unnecessarily, causing you bodily harm, wasting your time, and causing you financial strain. I simply spit.
Any woman wey no fit keep her household will have another woman fill up her place..I married my wife a virgin she doesn't like sex but does it to make me happy I love women who initiate sex and during pregnancy my sex life went to almost zero even in the early stages and late stages..met this lady who was ready for me I am sure my wife would av noticed bit I cared less I take care of her needs and my son I am proud of how he is growing up...naso women dey lose their husband..outwardly we are a perfect couple cos she trusts me so much but I can't keep up with this kind of life some sex styles are just out of the question it made me even invest in this other lady buying her an entire building to open a fast food outlet..she satisfies me so much but I won't marry her and she is cool with it..never tot in my life I would cheat on my wife but it is wat it is.
Are you in lagos...use the 1.5m...use 1m do down payment for keke and spread the balance over some years use 1 month drive ur keke and see how it goes..ask questions before you start to understand the nitty gritty...getting a rider to have returns is deadly Or open a barbing salon in a good location and employ barbers. A hair cut is now at least 1k
MrHandsome2013: A civil servant that started working when Nigeria was booming in 1970s.
He Worked 12 years being single before getting married. That 12 years he worked was useless.
He didn’t marry his wife properly. No wedding pic of them as husband and wife. No house of his own, no property, No car , nothing. What did he do with those 12 years.
Is it the remaining 23 years remaining to serve or retire , he will achieve anything being married with responsibilities.
This my unfortunate dad never achieved anything throughout his 35 years of working. He was busy blaming his wife for putting him in chronic debt, Now I sat down and began to think that this man was already a failure before he got married. Because you have use 1/3 of your 35 years as a single man yet no single achievement.
Some men don’t deserve to married. My dad is an evil man seriously speaking, He knew he was a devil that has failed and instead of him to go to one seminary school.
He choose to go one village to deceive one illiterate girl to marry so they will bring innocent kid to suffer untold suffering. Is this not pure witch crafts
I feel ur pain..make a difference with your life since you dad has failed in life as a man in ur words..no be osimhen bring him papa out of trenches to magodo... U can change the story of your family.
Taquin: This one is for the babes who are starting to question their worth because of what they see online. I turn 30 next Sunday, so I believe I’m in a good place to write this, not from a place of fear, but from experience and sense.
Over the last few months, I’ve seen some wild comments from men on Nairaland. Things like “after 7”, “evening newspaper”, “depleted ovaries”… you name it. But let me tell you: that’s not on you. That’s on them.
If you're feeling down because of these words, pause and breathe. . These men; the ones who use these terms. I’ve studied them. Yes, I went through their old posts. The youngest among them is about 43. 😂 Imagine a 43-year-old man online calling women expired. God forbid my own future husband is wasting his time typing such rubbish on a forum. One even replied me once saying I should "rest". This is someone struggling to pay N150k school fees for his 8-year-old child and rent somewhere in the bush in Ikorodu. 😭 Another one, sleeping in the office Monday to Friday because transport to Ajah will eat his entire salary. We already had our third degree by 23 but one man from Ogbomosho thinks he would be doing me a favour by marrying me. These same people shouting “in saner climes” but the only airport they have seen is from watching James Bond movies. 😭😭😭
And these are the same ones screaming "I can't marry a 25+ year old, they’re too old." At 40+? You’re not even ashamed. Ato ole.
Ladies, these are the ones calling you evening newspaper. Do you now see that it has nothing to do with you? If you’re here and you’re worried about these people, don’t be. This message is not for the real men who respect women and are just struggling financially. My message for you is: it’ll be okay soon, amen.
Now for the rest of us baby girls 👸🏽: There’s a flawed logic these same men like to push. This idea of "100 women to 1 man". It’s a lie. Statistically, there are more men than women in Nigeria and in the world. You can Google it. They just use that flawed stat to make women feel desperate. Let me say this clearly girls: If you are not earning your own money, you have no business dating. Once you start making money, your standards go up naturally. That’s why you’ll see Regina Daniels with a Ned Nwoko, but you’ll never see Temi Otedola with Dangote. 😏 I saw a thread the other day. One Nairaland uncle asking for advice on dating an 18-year-old. By page 2, he had mentioned giving money to her mother. So please, work. Even if it’s small. Take yourself on mini-vacations within Nigeria. Join clubs. Play sports. I play chess. In fact, there’s no antichess player in Africa better than me. Just recently, I came 3rd out of 2,500 players globally in the Antichess World Championship . 💅🏽 I’m also starting Pilates with my girls, and I’m going to take standard chess seriously again. I want to become Nigeria’s first grandmaster by age 37. So please my girls: 1. Buy good skincare. 2. Learn how to do your makeup — Mac, Fenty, Lancôme… get at least one. 3. Look younger, stay fresh. 4. Don’t ever beg for transport fare to go on a date. 🙅🏽♀️
Don’t settle because some man with a “Akungba university 1984” ID is calling you names online. 😭 Look at Asa Asika. Look at Davido. Look at Toolz and Tunde. Real rich kids marry close in age because they’re not looking for desperation, they’re looking for a match. Take your time. Don’t lower your crown. Someone will love you fully with money, respect, maturity, and peace of mind. There’s someone for everyone. Just don’t rush because of what these agbado philosophers are saying on Nairaland . 😂 Remember: When they say “You’re too old,” just remember, The only thing outdated is their mindset which expired after Jonathan’s first tenure. Stop explaining your standards to people who’ve never met them. There’s a man for every woman and yours will see your worth without needing you to shrink or beg for it. So to every woman reading this: You’re not behind. Evening newspaper still has breaking news. Bye baby girls
There are more women than men in nigeria And there are more women than men in the world The default setting of creation is female
U see Nigerians being treated like Kings in the us army driving benz...living in their own homes and being treated as veterans with respect after retiring...too bad of them
I stopped by Iyana Ipaja Bus Stop in Lagos and took two quick shots to show this busy transport hub just as it is — raw and unfiltered.
How often do you pass through here? What comes to your mind when you see this place? Any memories or interesting experiences at Iyana Ipaja? What do you like or dislike about this area?
Feel free to share your thoughts!
Don't knownif lagos is moving forward..or backward if u look at fashola BRT U WOULD HAVE PROJECTED THE GRADUAL FACING OUT OF THE YELLO BUSES BUT THEY ARE NOW BACK IN FULL FORCE.
