Synthase: I wish I can add to your confusion... grin but I think this thread has given you enough review on different brands, the onus is now on you to check out more online reviews and get the one with the best spec within your budget. Hp is not as bad as people made it to be, at least in time past it was probably the first name to consider when choosing a laptop brand and this informed my own decision to check out and review online only hp laptops within my budget and then I had to settle for a dm4. It is well over 2yrs nw and the only observed down turn is the change in battery life from about 6hrs to 2hrs and I have assisted two friends in getting similar series and and with no issue till date. So, the only reason I will not recommend hp for you now as someone noted is that we have too many fake/made in China hp in the market. Lay your hands on one made in europe, am sure you will not have all these bad hp testimonies we have here.
But how do I differentiate between made in china & europe?

Decibel: Pls i will advise you to add some doe to wat u hv right nw and go for the latest Samsung Series9 .it has durable battery,quadcore,4-8Gb ram and genuine graphics 'cos some Hp laptops rejects some higher programs like Oracle 11g and 12c xcept it's being surrogated using Embedd linux version of such program which might not be compatible with the device. Also Lenovo is good too. You are highly welcome to the programing world.
Thanks so much bro. Computer Sustain Life!

Seun: You need a first class CPU - core i7, core i5, or even core i3 - for fast compilation of Java code and quick testing of scripts.

You need to have as much RAM as possible so your system won't slow down when running IDE, browser, Apache, MySQL, etc at once.

You need a minimum of 720p resolution (1366 x 768, or 1280x800). You need the screen estate to reduce the overhead of app switching.

Your laptop should have decent battery life; at least 4 hours, so you won't be frustrated by PHCN. Otherwise you should get an inverter.
Thanks Master Seun. But you know ci7 PC's damn expensive; I think I may have to go for ci3. But the question now is, which brand?

Okija_juju: I have used 3 HP Laptops in my life... Worst experience ever.

The first one I smashed after it kept crashing every 2 days..

The second one was the variant that had the finger print scanners et. al.. That one packed up in under one year and even HP Nigeria that sold me the darn thing couldn't help me out..

The third one I dashed out for similar reasons..

I would recommend a Dell anyday..

Just got a new 17.5inch Toshiba.. So far, so good.

HP is good for Desktops, but their laptops, I will never recommend to anyone..
Thanks Master for your contribution; but am conpuse, oh sorry confuse I mean to say. What's your suggestion with the price range?

SportsSweden Vs Nigeria: FIFA U-17 World Cup Tomorrow At 5pm by BlogStablecom(op):
Nigeria sent a stern warning to the rest
of the competition here at the FIFA U-17
World Cup UAE 2013 when they
devastated holders Mexico in their first
game in Al Ain, and the Golden Eaglets
are back in action to confirm their tag as
tournament favourites when they meet
Sweden at the Khalifa Bin Zayed
Stadium on Tuesday. Also on the card is
a clash of teams looking to reestablish
their credentials when Mexico take on
Iraq. Over in Dubai, Canada are hunting
an historic win in Group E, where all four
teams are tangled on one point after a
pair of opening-day draws.
SportsMexico Vs Nigeria - (FIFA U-17 World Cup 2013 ) Today At 2:00pm by BlogStablecom(op): 1:18pm On Oct 19, 2013
Match of the day
Mexico - Nigeria
In a worthy opening contest in Group F,
three-time winners Nigeria, the most
successful team in the competition’s
history, face holders and two-time
champions Mexico in Al Ain City. El Tri
caught the world’s attention with glory
on home turf two years ago but face an
immediate test against a Nigerian side
they have only faced once before in the
tournament’s 30-year history. The
Mexicans won 1-0 in Canada in 1987,
although it was the Africans who went
through to the next round by virtue of
their superior goal difference.

Guess Who Will Win
