Overrated baby cows are back to their European clubs. I told yall I never cared about their performance in Europe but for the national team. Honestly I am fixated on the Afcon in December.
Bro, when you out hope in these guys, they'll dash it and then later their paid actors will come here and say you shouldn't criticize them

The same iwobi is who many people on twitter and tiktok are saying shouldn't even be invited to the National team again. All I'm even saying is that the guy should sit down on the bench and let's give that midfield to hungrier guys. Him and Ndidi can't do more than they've done Iver the past years

That was how these same people compared Chukwueze to arjen robben and even shut down anyone that criticised him that year until his mediocrity became glaring

Hypocrisy stinks!!

It's better than pretending that iwobi is creative abeg

Iwobi like I said before may not be world class but has been decent for the SE to at the very list deserve our respect.

dude is the highest scoring midfielder we've had in decades yet all he gets is abuse.

For the past two games neutral observer didn't fault Iwobi's contributions but you're here hyperventilating.

The day a more talented midfielder enters the SE I will be the first to say that Alex should chill on the bench until then I will appreciate what he brings to the table.

Nobody is begging for your positive opinions I'm just stating the facts as they are.

Plus your opinions have shown to be all over the place. Abi no be you dey drag Osimhen during AFCON the same guy that has been carrying the team on his back.
Yes, I dragged osimhen because he wasn't scoring which was his primary duty as a striker

If you like disagree. If you like, let my opinion be itching you. That's your problem not mine

Calvin bassey isn't world class, neither is ola aina or onyeka but they hardly put wrong foots forward

But iqobi will play nonsense and still would be untouchable. Who the Bleep is he that he cannot be criticised?

Why don't you defend moses Simon the same way? Is iwobi significantly better than moses simon? Yet mos3s simon gets criticised and you guys don't cry on my mentions like when it's iwobi

No amount of your abuse will stop me from calling out a player who should be held to a higher standard than his peers

Why don't you go on tiktok and twitter and attack those criticising iwobi there? Am I the only one critiquing him?

Iwobi is mediocre. I said it!

If nobody likes it, that's their headache and not mine

And if tomorrow osimhen plays nonsense, I will call him out. Nobody is God that we can't criticised. Even Messi got criticised by argentinw fans at some point before the world cup win

Abeg make una getat!!!

Iwobi is not the second coming of JayJay and Ronaldinho but scapegoating him whenever things go south is unfair. Thank God he wasn't on the pitch when Zimbabwe scored.

As 'below par' as Alex has been if other midfielders have been dropping even just equal of his performances we won't be in jam we're in.

Every time Iwobi Iwobi was he there when Ghana qualified ahead of us for 2022?

Was he on the pitch when CIV scored the 2nd goal against us in the final?

Was he on the pitch when Rwanda beat us in Uyo? A game that Onyeka played o!

Yes I desire top tier talent to feature in our team but I won't lambast someone who's always there rain or shine trying his best even if sometimes inadequate while giving others a free pass.

Ndidi even though I like him has never dropped great performances for the SE yet we seem to give him a free pass.
I never gave Ndidi a free pass.

Go through my earlier comments

Okay, when Iwobi was on the pitch, tell me something extra he added to the field of play

Tell me a notable significant impact he has had

Tell me (since group stages of AFCON) when Iwobi's passes proved dangerous for the opposition and it led to a goal for Nigeria

Oga, when someone is the fulcrum of the teams midfield, he must be able to get blamed. It's a requirement of the job.

The truth is Iwobi is an overrated player. Same with Ndidi. Same with Moses Simon and definitely Chukwueze

Left to me, it's either these set of players should yansh down on the bench or not even get a call up again

It's called am opinion and I'm entitled to mine

if I write this same comment as yours they will call me a conspiracy theorist...

Eguavoen or a group of people in the NFF keep writing the same list of players without any young new additions to the list.

without Ndidi the SE made it to the Final of the AFCON.. so why is Ndidi still given a starting shirt just because he plays in the EPL..

its because of things like this I was not happy about Onyeka moving to Germany because I know the NFF won't invite him anymore..

both Orban and Ejuke can play Chukwueze's wing and Chuks needs someone to bench him in that wing.

In the next international friendlies window, it is still the same list of players they will invite again
.
My brother...you sabi them

All this shout here and you'll still see Iheanacho and Papa daniel on the next list

I was never a fan of that guy from the get go because a winger with no end product and who has refused to improve is not it at all. He must have a good agent because I don't know how good teams like AC Milan notice him

Moses Simon too.

See, what I'm saying is that these guys have no competition in the team and will keep on playing mediocre football no matter what because they know that they're borderline irreplaceable

Iwobi shouldn't be starting if we had a better option. I haven't seen the hype around that guy and I don't know what he actually contributes to that team. We keep on changing his position to accommodate Jo's strengths when the truth is that the guy is an average midfielder on his best days whose only concern is social media and Snapchat.

Iwobi is not the reason why your defense could not hold a 1-0 lead with less than ten minutes to go.

Every time Nigeria loses, you people find a way to force Iwobi into the conversation because the blame card is never complete if his name is not on it.

Una go dey go round and round like this, until you find your actual problem, and it is not Iwobi

My take even though unpopular:

1) NFF is nothing but a corrupt organization. Unfortunately, they are an extension of a failed Nigerian state,so no surprises here. In saner climes, when you miss out on two world cups, the football organization will be overhauled and key men sacked and then probed. But it will be business essential as usual. After all, Tinubu is our president

2) Certain players should be eased out of the national set up. I know someone of them are favorites of people won this thread but if I'm being honest, Ndidi has never had an excellent game for nigeria. His monster performance week in and out for Leicester those days was the reason he got called severally. But even when he was in his prime, he was average at best for the Super Eagles. I'm not surprised at his lacklustre performance over 2 games. What surprises me if why chelle saw this and kept him in the starting line up. This doesn't inspire confidence in Chelle's decision making going forward.

3) This take will ruffle so many feathers but anchoring your midfield creativity on a subpar player as iwobi is a recipe for disaster. The guy is an average player. While I commend his loyalty to choosing Nigeria over England from the get go, the truth is we must not be sentimental. If we're being objective, Iwobi's games are usually a strong 6/10 for us and have been so since AfCON ended. We can't be tweaking positions just to fit someone into the team. We have done this so much for iwobi and he ends up delivering average performances

4) Odimhen is doing too much of a carry job and it's worrying. The moment he looses form or gets injured, we are in hot soup. Literally

4) Lookman didn't really perform well today. 6.5/10. He should pass more, otherwise, he remains a solid member of the first team

5) please stop inviting iheanacho to the provisional list thereby reducing slots for more deserving players. I don't see the justification for his continual invite. I mean, you don't even have to be a UEFA licensed coach to see this. Haba! His time is up in the SE

6) Old man Ekong should be eased out slowly from the team. He has given his best and he can't do more than this. He should be dropped to the bench for a more younger defender and let him mentor from there. From there, let them ease him out slowly. We can't keep depending on a defender his age to anchor our defense. It's not tenable at all.

7) I don't know if it's me being emotional but we need to stop picking players like some are already guaranteed a place in the team. That's why some players don't give their all because even if they perform poorly, next list, they'll be sure to see their names there. As it stands, only players like lookman, Osimhen, Ola Aina, Iwobi and Ekong have really paid their dues. The rest need to be told that they need to fight for their shirts. All this jamboree of Iheanacho and Chukwueze should stop. I mean chunks had 1 goal in how many matches as an attacking winger for his club side. Is he the best we can do at that position? And this is a genuine question please
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Blueelf: 6:32pm On Mar 25, 2025
This isn't really chelles fault

We didn't start the qualifiers campaign well

We have a poor midfield. Ndisi should stop getting invites. When in his prime, he was always average for SE

Missing 2 WC means that the NFF ought to even be probed. This isn't right at all

Drawing this match means we should just focus on next year's AFCON
