EEGA: Don't use a WC semifinalist as a yard stick?
When last did you even get to the Quarter finals of a WC, not to talk of a Semi-final.
The Super Eagles has never made it past the group stage since they made their World Cup debut. Bro, world cup is past tense Morocco got far in thw world cup because of a tight defense. Same as we are fokng now They have deficiencies in their attack That Morocco failed to score against SA isn't what I'll use as a yardstick to compare to the SE. Call some other team. I'd you'd daid Cape Verde, I'll be inclined to agree with you |

zicky: Uncle forget this talk, Nigeria can still win this tournament with or without Osimhen. Yes he's very important to the team but that doesn't make the other strickers less. Team work has been the back bone of this team not one player brilliance. Na southy we dy play, any of the other strickers can come and perform exceptionally well. Personally I want him in the game but saying Nigeria will lose because he's not there, uncle na lie, That's the narrative they are trying to push I wish the lad speedy recovery. He has worked hard for this team However, his absence may be a blessing in disguise for us. I would start Moffi in his place |

EEGA: We should forget the trophy if anything happens to VO9.
These your other strikers can't play under this system.
Iwobi plays a defensive role(DLP), in this set up.
You will need to change our formation and tactics if you are to start other strikers.
Other Strikers will not be able to score against SA in this current set-up, not forgetting the game against SA in Uyo where Iheanacho started and we were beaten 2-0.
Morocco could not even score this SA team.
You expect Moffi or Iheanacho who will be needing a totally different set-up, with about 2 creative midfielders to be able to score to start.
These other Strikers are not anywhere close to Osimhen. They won't even be able to give an "A" game in this set up. When it comes to attack, don't use Morocco as a yardstick. They have a blunt attack. We have far better attackers Take this to the bank!! |

EEGA: Bro, they no dey do experiment for AFCON Semis.
You must continue with the same tactics that got you to the Semis.
Keita's Guinea changed their pattern to accommodate Keita and they lost 3-1 to DR Congo. We have more attacking talents than Guinea I don't think we will have the same outome Mind you, there is also fatigue to think about |

If you don't like what I am saying, please see the following options: 1) Drink Sniper. Although BAT has made it quite expensive but it is still quite affordable 2) Wait till there is light and then quickly run to the nearest transformer. Please our light situation is phlegmatic and you need to hurry up if you want to make it to the other side on time 3) Get a rope and look for the nearest iroko tree 4) Stand in front of a moving truck on the nearest busy highway and then close your eyes. It will be fast Hypocrites |

Joebie: Osimhen is an asset to any team whether he scores or not.
But it’s okay to bench him in some situations I am not saying he isn't an asset But if you watch SE AFCON games without sentiments and judge all our attacking situations, Osimhen has been the weak link in most of them It's either he is offside or he balloons the ball wide But it is a defender (Zaidu Sanusi) that is their problem. Moses Simon who has been playing well has not gotten any recognition because he is not Osimhen You see bro, I want to point out their hypocrisy that stinks to high heavens Do you know benching osimhen would throw the Southies off their game plan because it will be unexpected? |

Type all this without crying Whether you rate him or not, if he continues, he will end up in a mid table team where he would rightly belong If you like rate him, that won't change how other world class teams see him |

Nomyth: Me I don't know if Osimhen should be benched but what i know is that he needs to start against South Africa.
His athleticism and bully-ish nature is exactly what we need to traumatize that SA defence much like chukwueze did to them in 2019.
Come to think of it, I never heard a single fan clamoring for Okocha to be benched in his playing days no matter how bad he plays. Okocha role was not primarily to score goals but to open up defences. Also, okocha was a set-piece specialist. You can't claim to be a world class striker and be bad at basic things like positioning, first touch and finishing You think Mourinho would've continuously started Osimhen if he were the coach despite liking him? |

Ppogbae: I think the coach is banking on him to produce a Cameroon like performance again. He has been given multiple chances. Give the other attackers a chance It is unfair to keep Moffi (a starter in ligue 1) on the bench. Why call him up if you're not going to play him You don't suddenly become a better player at the AFCON. Osimhen is technically poor and he won't change overnight HIs wastage of chances will hunt the SE against SA. I can bet you. |

Osimhen is not as good a striker as he is touted to be. He is overrated Anybody that doesn't like this statement should hug the nearest transformer He has been figured out and in the Serie A, the same thing would happen. If they could do it in AFCON, then serie A defenders are just waiting for him He should be benched. Yes, I said it and I own it with my full chest Simple!!! |

komekn: It's like people are afraid to say the obvious.
VO greatest strengths are his relentless, never stop work rate, the raw determination and blind rage he uses to play . He is like a man on a mission that overcomes his handicap by his unparalleled mental attitude and single minded aggressive force to succeed. In this regard he is the best.
However, against equally fast, physically stronger 💪🏿 more robust and highly determined black African muscle head defenders he is struggling.
World class players use techniques, skill, deceptive play to overcome obstacles. These are not the attributes of VO.
VO relies on his aforementioned unique attributes, it's not going to be very successful in the AFCON that's now proven.
It's time for Moffi to come and maybe Victor can come in as a substitute to replace him or even complement him as second striker. Right now AFCON defenders have read him , he does the same thing he is not unpredictable.
He is still absolutely essential but we need to try Moffi and see what he can do. It's avwin win if Moffi does nothing for 45 minutes.
Then unleash a refreshed and full of running with greater determination VO, for 45 minutes of non stop aggression I think he will score at least two in such circumstances.
Particularly as players always tire in the last 40 minutes of a match . I fully agree with this Folks here are acting like we said VO shouldn't play at all |

codemaniacs: You always wish evil against the Super Eagles.
Benching Osimhen during knockout stages will be a foolish move because it's Onuachu the coach will start and Onuachu doesn't play as if he wants to score goals.
It should have been tested in the group stages.
I wanted to see a fully energetic Osimhen come on in the 2nd as a sub against tired defenders in the 55th- 60 mins mark and see his impact as a substitute.
Because once Osimhen loses his energy and stamina in the 2nd half the Super Eagles attack dies off and with Onuachu as his replacement the SE is toothless.
Please someone should tell JPES to bring on Yusuf and Onyedika.
Aribo at worst should come on for Osimhen because once Aribo comes on as a midfielder the SE loses control of the midfield. Bench Osimhen for moffi not onuachu. Don't think like this. Read to understand. "Lovewins" my foot |
