As at yesterday these are the rates for Money Market Funds, with the three firms I have dealings with.

1.FBN Asset Management 5.3%

2.FSDH Asset Management 6.19%

3.United Capital Asset Mgt 7.23%


Rates are determined by the proportion and duration of Treasury Bills, Commercial papers, FG bonds and Fixed deposits, they have in their portfolios.


The rates are poor but still better than buying Treasury Bills, MMF are also more flexible

Please, what's the difference between the three MMFs? Which is the best? They seem to offer a better rate than high yield savings

Exactly, that time it seemed the rate crashed. I was totally dumbstruck when they specifically told me all plans are 1%. I had no choice but to opt for the target savings. Guess the rates was revised thereafter.

Target savings is just like a normal savings account but with better interest rates. They will set up the account for you just go with your ID and utility bill. And you can fund it instantly. The amount you fund determines the rate you will get from 4% to 5% or so. Their rate is better than access high yield account when I did mine. I got 4.45% rate at access while UBA offered 4.5% but maybe access rate has changed now. So visit the bank and inquire more cos I feel the rate fluctuates.

Are you okay? I was given that rate by the two marketing officers I met in the bank. I was surprised myself so I had to go with the target savings so don't confront me, go to the bank to confront them. Generally, fixed deposit rates are not encouraging unless there are new changes. Let's be guided, please.

If you're coming to NEU, try make plans for your accommodation. The school only gives 2 days free accommodation. Make sure you secured accommodation while coming or you have your money handy when coming.
Accommodation off-camp is kinda cheaper here compared to the dormitories

Leave of absence is a date fixed 1 year ago and not adjustable for individual students as it will offset university calendar. However, you can email emu registrar your specific case since you are master student unlike undergrad that takes many courses. In my class I have completed chapter 2 now and chapter 3 next for my undergrad student at EMU. So we can’t wait for individual students but my graduate student we just did first module
