A dissatisfied aspirant, from the All Progressives Congress, APC, has claimed ruling party sought to marginalise him following his reports of investing more than N100 million in his political aspirations for the party.
The aspirant, Ambassador Fubara Dagogo, has gone to courts and sued the APC and some of its senior officers in a Federal High Court in Abuja, claiming he was wrongfully excluded from contesting for the position of National Vice Chairman (South-South) before the party’s national convention.

According to the court papers filed to Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, Dagogo said he had duly paid for the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms, but was denied access to them despite meeting all necessary requirements.
“You can’t just disregard me after I invested more than N100 million for this ambition”, the disgruntled aspirant said in his legal pleading, claiming party officials had obstructed his participation in the process.

Dagogo named APC, its National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, National Vice Chairman (South-South), Victor Giadom and National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, as defendants in this lawsuit.

The plaintiff is seeking for an order dismissing as null and void all the results acquired by the South-South zonal congress that was held without his contribution, and N100 million in damages for purported humiliation, emotional distress and mental anguish suffered as a result of the party's actions.

According to Dagogo, wherein he claimed, on March 13, 2026, payment of the required fees and he headed to the APC national secretariat to collect the nomination forms but was informed that the documents were no longer available.

He also further explained that some party officials tried to obstruct his attempt to collect the nomination forms because they were of the view that he will defeat the incumbent in the election.

However, the APC through its counsel has asked the court to strike out the case as it stood on ground that the issue lies on a ground that is without merit.
