I met this fine geh at a tech event in Lagos.
Before the event started, we had a little chit-chat and mehn, she was exactly my type. Beautiful, intelligent, confident, and we just clicked. You know that kind of connection that feels like you’ve known someone for years? Yeah, that was it.

Throughout the event, we kept vibing, laughing at the same jokes, sharing ideas, everything just aligned.

At the end, I asked for her name she said Linda.
Cool name.

Then I asked where she was from, she said Anambra.
My eyes lit up. I’m from Anambra too!

So I got curious and asked, “What village?”
She mentioned it and boom, it’s in the same local government as mine. I was like, “This is fate.”

Everything was lining up perfectly.
She was single, I’m single, we shared interests, goals, and background… until one tiny moment changed everything.

She gave me her business card and I didn’t see a single Igbo name on it.
Both her first and last names were English.

When I got home, I texted her, I asked, gently, “Don’t you have an Igbo name?”

Her reply?

“I don’t like my Igbo name, and I don’t like speaking Igbo either.”

That one message drained everything I felt for her.
Instantly.

It wasn’t about tribal pride or anything dramatic, it was just the realization that we might see identity differently.
Because for me, being Igbo isn’t just where I’m from, it’s who I am. It’s the rhythm in my thoughts, the tone in my laughter, the root of my values.

And when someone rejects that part of themselves, it feels like they’ve rejected a part of me too.

So yeah… I ghosted her.
Not because she wasn’t amazing, but because something in me went cold.

Amarillo TEXAS Man Fired from Job for Offensive Costume at Company Halloween Party

An Amarillo man is now without a job after being fired by his manager for showing up to the company Halloween party dressed as a terrorist.

Anthony Bianchi says the costume was meant to be funny and harmless, but as soon as he arrived at the party, most people in attendance were upset and uncomfortable. “This whole thing is an unfortunate misunderstanding.

The whole point of the joke is that I’m a Jäger-bomber. I’m not even from that part of the world—I’m an Italian guy raised in Texas.

The price of rice is currently going through the floor in multiple markets all over Lagos, the economic capital of Nigeria.

This has been confirmed by traders and consumers in the city interviewed by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and who disclosed that the essential victual has witnessed a sudden drop in price.

The crash in price affects both local and foreign brands of rice.

In various markets such as Arena (Oshodi), Festac Town, Mile 12, and Oyingbo, a 50kg bag local rice which sold for about ₦85,000 in January 2025 currently sells between ₦60,000 and ₦70,000.

Likewise, foreign rice which was ₦95,000 as at January is now between ₦65,000 and ₦75,000 depending on the brand/location.

The price drop has been credited to improved local harvests and a massive surge in imports following the reopening of Nigeria’s borders.

“Nyaight of the Living Cat” might just be one of the strangest anime experiences I’ve had in a while. It somehow manages to look better than *One Punch Man’s* second-season “cardboard” animation — yet still feels like a total mess in its own way.

The premise sounds wild enough to be fun: a mysterious outbreak turns humans into cats, and everyone seems weirdly okay with it. Sure, the cats are adorable — I get it — but at what point did logic walk out the door and let the fluff take over? And seriously, where are the dogs in this so-called cat apocalypse? It’s like the entire world forgot other animals even exist.

Senegalese Goalkeeper Cheikh Touré Killed in Ghana After Being Kidnapped

A devastating tragedy has struck Senegalese football following the death of 18-year-old goalkeeper Cheikh Touré in Ghana. Authorities say the young athlete was deceived by fake football scouts who lured him with false promises of a professional trial abroad, only to kidnap him upon his arrival.
