It doesn't matter how you cut and dice it, solar is still almost maintenance free unlike hydro, turbines, and even wind.

Solar have little or no moving parts or mechanical formations so breakdowns is minimal and repairs doesn't take days, weeks or months, it takes minutes or hours.




You can not support any argument based on suggestions, unrealistic and impractical ideas.

10 Plants X 5000MW @ $1 Billion/1000MW = $50 Billion


Do you have $50 Billion or do you think Nigeria have N50 Billion?


You plan based on unique situations and available resources, not on fairy tales and what you can not do to sole your immediate problems..






Pakistan is building a collection 10/1000MW solar plants for almost the same amount we are spending so your point is kind of mute..


And about maintenance, this is just ridiculous, Solari is sustainable energy and requires little or no maintenance..

1. These are solar panels with almost zero breakable moving engines and little or no maintenance, zero breakdowns and the fact that we have almost year round sunshine means solar has remains the best and cheapest option. They also take little time to complete. The worst is replacing solar damaged or broken panels which takes minutes to replace.


2. The hydro dams you are suggesting are labor intensive and their performance is based on water level, constant maintenance and repairs means shutdowns or reduced output.


Seems you enjoy disputing your own views with your own views..

A little education: Solar is sustainable and renewable energy.

Truth is as long as these politicians use this party line politics to divide the Nigerian youths, this country will never progress... They don't understand how these things work in real life, that's why you see them call you ignorant even before they understand your point.

I still stand by what I said, that the true solution lies on mega power plants not small solar farms ...we need every power we can generate, but the government shouldn't stop at that, they should tackle this issue head on

I read some things here and I'm grateful to God, I'm also a graduate with no job but some youths still in the education system re really finding it hard. only if I had money, I wld support you all and infact call for a forum or seminar nd meet you all to organize a way to make our tears seen by using the human rights body, lawyers, journalist, media house, social network till they(politicans) give us listening ears..
just like OCCUPY NIGERIA did, we the youths can do such and put fear into them. we re all computer literate, programmers, writers, speakers; let us use our talent or knowledge to pass this message to them. we won't be violent but dialogue can go along way to solve our problems. Sahara Reporter(media house) will be willing to push our pleas.
The politicians don't care about the youths anymore, they only use them as instrument of destruction and money laundering especially those bloody senators at the house of assembly don't care anymore. they are responsible for the poor state of this country

I'm a graduate of mechanical engineering with knowledge in the oil and gas industry gotten from my IT and NYSC but yet, nothing to show for it cos my surname is not tinubu, otedola, buhari, malaye, ashafa, nd co. After that money never came, did he not go cap in hand to beg China for a paltry $3bn loan which they tactically posted him ? Has he accessed the $3bn chinese loan? Or how about the Yuan currency deal?
