In religion their are countless example on the issue. One his God calling Samuel in the bible but he was afraid. The priest told him to tell the voice to speak whenever he heard it again. He did and everything he was told was fulfilled in the bible. This things can be proved traditionally, spiritually and religiously.

My advise to him is to summon courage and speak to the voice and hear them out. He can also declare that he has nothing with them that they should leave him alone. It might work since he don't believe in anything. Better than being afraid and becoming a psychiatrist patient. In all the people in psychiatrist hospitals how many have you healed? Most of their cases are spiritual not medical.

Meditate on the issue. Sit quietly in a very calm place and ask what it want from you. Breath slowly. Ask and wait for answers. If you dream you may get answers through dreams or vision or even hear them out. Try and do that first since you don't believe in any spiritual or religious stuff. Many medical problems people face today has some spiritual tones

Moses, Joshua and all prophets wrote about the restoration of Israel. Daniel said it in Daniel 12: 1 where Micheal will appear at endtime to save them. Zachariah 12: 9 God promised to destroy every nation that will gather against them at endtime when restored. Isaiah 11:11-12 is their. Christ said he will not return untill they acknowledge him and say "blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord". In the endtime they will acknowledge him and only him will restore them. Daniel said All Israel shall be saved. Even Paul stated in Romans 11:25-26 that it was blindness that befell Israel. He says the gentiles will take over but when the blindness fell from the eyes of Israel they will acknowledge Christ and be saved .
