Allow them go...

Then yoruba nation follows.

And then Niger delta... Then middle belt and others.

So which part would he be president of?

He must be naive to think the rest of the country will remain the same if he decides to let any part of it go!

PoliticsWe Won’t Allow Crisis Force Peter Obi To Join Atiku—arabambi, LP Publicity Sec by Bobloco(op): 2:26pm On Jun 07, 2024
The National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Abayomi Arabambi, said the party won’t allow Peter Obi to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite the crisis in the LP.

Arabambi states this in an interview on Channels Television on Friday.

He said the party is seeking a political solution to its crisis so that its 2023 presidential candidate won’t work with his PDP counterpart Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 poll.

The Labour Party chieftain said, Politically, we will not allow the crisis to fester for long that we will now allow Mr Peter Obi to join Atiku.

“We knew their plans, that was why we said ‘we need to explore political solution between ourselves.”

Arabambi also spoke on the recent legal tussle rocking the party wherein an FCT High Court restrained Julius Abure and two others from parading themselves as national officers of the party.

Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT High Court, ruling on an ex parte application on April 5, 2023, had restrained Abure, Farouk Ibrahim, Clement Ojukwu, and Oluchi Opara from acting as national officers of the LP.

But in March 2024, the Court of Appeal in Abuja set aside the judgment of the lower court which restrained Julius Abure and two others from parading themselves as national officers of the Labour Party.

Justice Hamman Barka, leading a three-member panel of justices, held that Abure’s appeal had merit and was accordingly allowed. He held that the FCT high court was wrong to have assumed jurisdiction on the matter.

The court also awarded the sum of N1 million in favour of Abure and other appellants in the matter.

Arabambi said every action taken by Abure between March 2023 and March 2024 is a nullity.

He said, “Since the Court of Appeal just set aside the judgement in March 2024, every other thing done between March 2023 and to 2024 by Julius Abure is a nullity.”

PoliticsN5.4tr Fuel Subsidy: APC Govt Cesspit Of Corruption, Deceit, Says PDP by Bobloco(op): 9:08pm On Jun 06, 2024
…charges Tinubu to come clean, demands open investigation

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the scandalous revelation that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration is secretly paying a whopping N5.4 trillion as fuel subsidy for 2024 has exposed the administration as a cesspit of corruption, lies, and deceit.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, said this in a statement in Abuja yesterday.

He said this revelation came on the heels of President Tinubu’s declaration that his administration no longer pays subsidy on fuel.

Ologunagba said, “This revelation by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, shows the callousness of the APC administration, which is forcing Nigerians to buy fuel at very exorbitant price of over N800 per liter in various parts of the country while trillions of naira is allegedly being paid as fuel subsidy into private bank accounts associated with corrupt APC leaders.

“Nigerians can recall how APC leaders, in their characteristic manner, tried to divert public attention when the PDP earlier alerted of this fraudulent act in a statement on May 28, 2024.

“This revelation by Wale Edun after series of denials by APC leaders and government officials validates the axiom that no matter how long lies appear to thrive the truth, like the sun, will always prevail.

“Is it not provocative and an act of extreme insensitivity that while our nation is suffering from grave infrastructural decay and millions of Nigerians subjected to punishing hardship, acute poverty, life of misery and utter despondency by the removal of subsidy without cushioning measures, a staggering N5.4 trillion, in the name of fuel subsidy, is reportedly being cornered by corrupt APC leaders?

“The deceit which is prevalent in the APC government is responsible for plunging Nigerians deeper into destitution with no hope in sight under the current administration.

“Nigerians deserve to know; Where is the N5.4 trillion being taken from? Which agency of government is responsible for the payment of the said fuel subsidy, and to whom? What is the criteria used for payment?

“What volume of fuel is being subsidized and at what cost? Why is petrol still selling exorbitantly even with the revelation of the continuing payment of fuel subsidy? These are questions that need to be answered.”

The PDP further demanded that President Tinubu immediately clear the air and come clean by personally addressing Nigerians and ordering a public inquiry into the reported N5.4 trillion fuel subsidy under his watch.

The party also asked the president to immediately review his economic team with a view to getting capable hands and checking the corruption prevalent in the administration.

The PDP equally said, “Mr. President must also review the economic policies of the administration that is strangulating the people. Recognising, accepting, and reviewing a flawed economic policy is not weakness but courage. That is what defines a leader at a time like this.

“President Tinubu should listen to the heartbeat of Nigerians. There is hunger and destitution in the land. The reaction of a hungry people is better imagined! Mr. President, please act now.”

PoliticsWale Edun Has Not Proposed N105,000 As Minimum Wage — Bayo Onanuga by Bobloco(op): 6:10pm On Jun 06, 2024
The Presidency has debunked the report making the rounds that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has proposed N105,000 as new minimum wage.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, while reacting to a report claiming that the Minister has submitted a report with N105,000 as new minimum wage proposal, described the news as false.

“The Honorable Minister of Finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun has not proposed N105,000 minimum wage. The contrary story being disseminated is false,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tribune Online reports on Thursday that the Minister of Finance, following the earlier directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presented a template with cost implications of a new minimum wage to President Tinubu

Recall that following a two-day strike by organised labour over a quest for an increase in minimum wage, the President had ordered Wale Edun to, within 48 hours, present the cost implications of a new minimum wage.

SportsPremier League Clubs Vote In Favour Of Keeping VAR by Bobloco(op): 1:58pm On Jun 06, 2024
The Premier League will continue to use video assistant referees (VAR) next season after Wolves were the only club to vote in favour of scrapping it at Thursday's annual general meeting.

Wolves triggered a vote on the use of VAR in the 2024-25 season after formally submitting a resolution to the Premier League in May.

In order for VAR to be scrapped, 14 of the 20 Premier League clubs needed to vote in favour of doing so.

However, BBC Sport understands Wolves failed to gain support from other clubs in the top flight.

The Premier League has come under increasing pressure to modify VAR, which was introduced at the start of the 2019-20 season.

It was reaffirmed at the meeting that semi-automated offsides will be introduced at some point in the autumn, while the Premier League confirmed in-game VAR announcements will be put in place.

The in-game announcements, which were used during the 2023 women's World Cup, will see referees explain post-VAR decisions to supporters in stadiums.

PoliticsLP Crisis: Party Bows To Pressure, Renames Obidient Directorate by Bobloco(op): 11:49am On Jun 06, 2024
Following a backlash over the naming and composition of the leadership structure of the “Obidient Directorate,” the leadership of the Labour Party (LP) has renamed the directorate.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, announced the party’s decision in a tarse statement in Abuja on Thursday.

According to him, the Obidient Directorate will now be known and referred to as the Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration.

Ifoh said, “Following the controversies arising from the creation of the Directorate of OBIDIENT Affairs, in the party, the Directorate is hereby renamed the Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration.

“The inauguration will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the party’s National Secretariat, Utako, Abuja, by 10 a.m. Party members and the general public should take note.”

Recall that over 200 support groups, which make up the Obidient Movement, had denounced the LP leadership for setting up the directorate and naming some persons as directors.

The support groups, in a statement dissociating themselves from the new directorate, accused the National Working Committee (NWC) of the LP, under the leadership of Comrade Julius Abure, of trying to use the directorate to strip the movement of its independence.
