As legal fireworks continue at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has insisted that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu has been disqualified. One of Atiku’s spokesmen, Daniel Bwala made the remark in response to a comment by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, on moves to disqualify Tinubu. Keyamo had said some people were searching the constitution daily on how to disqualify Tinubu. He stressed that the ignorance displayed by those trying to disqualify Tinubu was very interesting. Keyamo said those who were defeated during the last election were behind the plot to defeat Tinubu. Reacting, Bwala said Tinubu was disqualified through the Electoral Act. Tweeting, Bwala said: “The spokesman said people are searching the constitution from sections 1 to 320 to find a ground to disqualify Tinubu. No no no. He has been disqualified from the electoral act before we even reach the constitution. By the time we reach the constitution it will be to convict him.” https://dailypost.ng/2023/04/18/presidential-election-tinubu-already-disqualified-atikus-camp-fires-back-at-keyamo/ |
One of the top aides to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has disclosed why the Independent National Electoral Commissioner, INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, announced Aisha Binani as the winner of the governorship election in Adamawa State. Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, said Yunusa-Ari announced Binani as the winner following an order from above. Shaibu said the electoral fraud committed by Yunusa-Ari was nothing different from what the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, did during the Presidential election. A statement by Shaibu reads: “From all that has happened, it is obvious that Yunusa-Ari was acting on orders from above and that is why Ahmadu Fintiri’s warnings were ignored. “This carefully orchestrated action is a reflection of the electoral heist of February 25, 2023 when the INEC Chairman, Yakubu, decided to announce Tinubu of the APC as winner despite the many irregularities and complaints from several opposition parties. Indeed, Yunusa-Ari acted like his father and boss, Mahmood Yakubu.” Yunusa-Ari had announced Binani as the winner of the supplementary election in Adamawa State amid the collation of results. The Commission immediately voided the declaration and suspended the REC. https://dailypost.ng/2023/04/18/binani-vs-fintiri-adamawa-rec-acted-based-on-order-from-above-atikus-aide/ |
The APGA chief and others are being prosecuted by the police at the Abuja court. There was mild drama, on Monday, at the premises of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Bwari, Abuja, as the factional Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Edozie Njoku, was arrested by the Nigerian police. The arrest followed a complaint by the prosecution lawyer, Ezekiel Rinamsomte, that Mr Njoku, prior to the commencement of the criminal case filed against him, had verbally threatened him as counsel in the matter. He told Justice Mohammed Madugu shortly after the case was about to be adjourned. He said the complaint had already been lodged at the Bwari Divisional Police Station. “My lord, this morning when I came to the court, he (Njoku) saw me, waved his hand at me and said prosecutor how are you and we shook hands. “I did not even recognise him because there is nothing personal between me and him. “The next thing this man started telling me was that he was going to send calamity upon calamities upon my family; that members of my family will be dying and that he would deal with me. “I asked him what have I done, he said he was a very dangerous man. He said he was the reason why Director, Litigation of Supreme Court, Mr Dikko, was removed and dismissed. “That he was going to shake the Nigerian Police Force; that he was the reason why the daughter of (Onyechi) Ikpeazu, SAN, died; that he was going to deal with everybody in this case. “And I said does it mean that this man is above the law or what is the problem,” the lawyer said. Mr Rinamsomte said he decided to inform the judge so that the court could take judicial notice of what transpired between him and Mr Njoku earlier in the morning Justice Madugu, who hinted that he had already closed proceeding on the suit, however, asked Mr Njoku, who was standing in the dock with his co-defendant, what happened. Responding, the APGA factional chairman admitted exchanging pleasantries with Mr Rinamsomte earlier in the day. But he denied the allegations that he threatened the prosecutor. “My lord, I only said that anybody in this case, who lied against me to go to jail or send anyone to prison by telling lie, calamity will befall that person,” he said. Mr Njoku said he neither mentioned anything about the late Ikpeazu’s daughter nor made any such comments attributed to him by the prosecutor. The judge, then, jokingly said Mr Rinamsomte should have avoided Mr Njoku who he knew was standing trial. “You should have greeted him from afar,” he said. NAN reports that at the commencement of the trial, the prosecutor sought to withdraw the amended charge filed against Mr Njoku and his co-defendant, Chukwuemeka Nwoga. And after it was not opposed by the defence counsel, Panam Ntui, Justice Madugu, granted the prayer, and the 1st prosecution witness, Godwin Odu, the Deputy National Secretary of APGA, gave his testimony. The judge, consequently, adjourned the matter until 27 April for trial continuation after Ntui cross-examined the PW1. Mr Njoku, in an interview with journalists shortly after the proceeding, said Mr Rinamsomte’s allegations against him were baseless. “The prosecutor made a terrible claim against me and he has already brought policemen to arrest me. That is their Option B. “That I said I killed Onyechi Ikpeazu’s daughter; that I said he will die, that I said I am a very dangerous man; that he has gone and brought the police to arrest me and face charges,” he said. He said “It looks as if their initial case against him is dead” and they were looking for another way to delay justice. NAN reports that Mr Njoku was later released at the police station after Mr Rinamsomte withdrew the case. Messrs Njoku and Nwoga were, on 28 November 2022, arraigned on a 14-count criminal charge bordering on forgery, an offence which attracts imprisonment of a maximum of 14 years jail term if found guilty. The Inspector General (I-G) of Police had accused them of forging a Supreme Court judgment and the letterhead paper of retired Justice Mary Peter-Odili. In the 1charge marked: CR/12/2022 and dated October 21, the defendants were accused of conspiring with others to forge a judgment of the Supreme Court. The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the entire 14-count charge. They were remanded at Suleja Correctional Centre and granted bail on 30 November 2022. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/593863-police-arrest-apga-factional-chairperson-in-court-premises.html |

They were shouting that they were out to kill me. “I have to run to a very far place in a missionary house. I presented some videos to the mission house people, who decided to provide me with protection. “When the pressure and fear of further attacks started coming, I had to escape to a family friend’s house in Lagos with the help of the people in the mission house. I was directed to another mission house which I cannot disclose the location publicly, and I even learned they came to look for me after I escaped to Lagos.” She added that it was from the mission house in Lagos that she got the help that made her escape from the country for her life. “As it is now, I don’t know the whereabouts of my other family members,” she added. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/04/lady-raises-alarm-over-threat-to-life-urges-police-to-investigate/ |

It has never been this bad naa. @Obongowoibesik1: INEC in all honesty should be scrapped and built again. The current INEC is absolute garbage. @Lawmac5: The INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, trampled on laid down rules and procedures when he declared a winner while election results were still being collated. The REC for Adamawa state is merely following the footsteps of the boss. These are pointing to the end of democracy in Nigeria. @GasmalielAminu: Inec don run April fool for Aunty Binani @Wabbillionaire: It’s obvious that this is not a well-structured body. A herb vendor with the username Mideshaven has called out Davido’s Logistics Manager and socialist, Israel Afeare, popularly known as Israel DMW, for blocking her after collecting N800,000 from her. The herb vendor made the call in a video shared on Instagram on Friday. In a now trending video on social media, Mideshaven said, “I contacted Israel DMW for an advert promoting my herbs on his page. He charged N1 million, and I deposited N800,000. “@isrealdmw wants to rip me off 800k. I am calling online because all effort to reach him has failed. I’ve been begging since December, I sent emails to the Dmw lawyer and managers to speak to him no response guess they didn’t see it. ”In December, I contacted Isreal DMW for an ad video of him promoting my herbs to be posted on his page. He charged one million, and I paid N800,000 deposit when he did the video, and I like it, I’ll send the balance so he can post. ”So, I met him at the airport to give him the products, but he never told me he can’t post. A few days after, he started asking for balance, and I asked for the video. Then he mentioned he can’t post at the time because of what happened to Davido’s son, but he had never told me this before. So I asked for a refund, and he said 30BG don’t refund. Okay, when will you post? He said he doesn’t know. ”After he mentioned this, I also understood the situation, and I was like, I didn’t even think of this, and you didn’t tell me either. Meanwhile, the money was my marketing budget for December. So I said okay, make the video since you can’t post, I will take it to blogs to promote, but he refused, and he said I should send the balance first. And I was like wouldn’t that be stupid of me to give him more money when I haven’t gotten value for what I paid before. he blocked me, and any number I reach him with will block. He has blocked four numbers so far. ”It was just this month after the album launch that he posted a picture of my product bag on his story. This was never what we agreed after waiting four months plus. So when I called him, he said I should bring 10 million for video. Tunji Dmw also talked to him, but he still refused.” https://dailypost.ng/2023/04/14/herb-vendor-calls-out-davidos-manager-israel-dmw-over-n800000-business-scam/ |
