Shettima is a big goat. He thinks Nigerians abroad are like the meek ass kissers he has back home. Kemi takes no crap from anyone. She's an example of what all Nigerians could be in the right environment. Shettima should cover his big head in shame, going around shouting Nigeria is the greatest black nation, when we can't even generate a 10th of electricity SA generates.
We will be here when the same white British rubbish her.

We be here when they tell her she an immigrant or a black monkey.

Na today...........she knows deep down herself just doing everything possible to please them cos of her own selfish interests.

Go and read all the nine pages before we begin to argue. The sensational ones were posted and everyone is already reacting to it. What the RMAFC did was to draw the governments ear and give advice on the best way to go. We keep allowing politicians to intefere into the affairs of our institutions. Look how docile and comical INEC has become. What the RMAFC reminded the executive was that some it is constitutionally empowered in regards revenue mobilization and fiscal policies and enactment. They should be carried along thats all.
Does reading the 9 pages change the fact he goofed and that the reason he clearing things??

Nigeria lecturers don't even deserve the 400k

Imagine having a lecturer who takes you automobile in 500lvl and he can't even fix lil issues in his own car.

This man had to call road side mechanic to fix battery issue in his car.....I almost insulted him that day cos he was my project supervisor.

Just come to the classroom tells us to open to page so so in our manual while reads to us like tales by moonlight and that lecturing.

I don't care whether that refinery is working or not, but next time make sure you do fact-checking with people with vast industry experience. It makes your story more believable.

Na for this country dem dey use generator supply power to a power plant just to deceive one president who came to commission it.
So when dangote refinery started it was engineer he invited to fact check if it was running?
Nah engineers go do investigation about the refinery huh

Custom uses Vehicle Identification Number to determine the amount imported vehicle would be in US dollars and use their calculator on computer to calculate the duties the importers will pay.

The total custom duty to be paid is the summation of all the charges above; that is
Import duty + Levy + SUR + ETL + VAT = Total custom duty payable
Do you now see that VAT is inclusive?

There is element of truth in what they guy said even though it may not be absolute.
The VAT they charge is for service they rendered at the port.....It isn't custom duty payable.

I will post custom duty someone paid in semptember to clear you.
PoliticsRe: In Support Of The Tax Reform Bills - Punch Editorial by Bobodee09: 1:36pm On Dec 04, 2024
EXPRESSSMAN:
VAT is value added tax. This is how it works. When you import cars or other goods, you pay VAT based on the duty you pay. It is not based on the value of the goods.
Then when you sell the car or the goods, you made some profit. This means that you have added some values to the car or the goods. So you pay another VAT based on the value you added. That's if you make 100k as profit. You VAT will be based on that profit not on the value of the car.
If the person who bought it sell it and make some profit, he will still pay VAT based on the profit he made. It goes on like that. This is how VAT works.
So if I sell my car to you ...you will pay VAT??

Guy, don't argue what you don't know.
You pay 7.5% of your assessed duty as VAT, . Later the customs passed The VAT to Firs. That's how it works. You can ask anyone. I don't need to post any receipts because it is a common knowledge.
VAT is only pay for goods and services.

You pay VAT when you purchase a car only in Nigeria.

You can't pay a levy and still be charge VAT it doesn't make any sense.....custom duties is a levy.

Donatus Mathew, an ex-okada rider who surged to victory on the wave of the Labour Party’s momentum during the 2023 election in Southern Kaduna, has abandoned LP and switched allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Mathew, who represents the Kaura federal constituency under the LP, defeated Gideon Gwani, the House of Representatives Minority Chief Whip from the Peoples Democratic Party.

His victory sparked enthusiasm among many activists in Southern Kaduna, particularly as he unseated a four-term incumbent lawmaker of the Kaura Federal Constituency.

Stephen Kefason, an activist who celebrated Mathew’s triumph at the time, has now voiced his disappointment over the lawmaker’s defection to APC.

He shared his sentiments via his X account, saying, “This opportunistic okada rider, who capitalised on Peter Obi’s popularity to secure the House of Representatives seat for Kaura constituency in Southern Kaduna, has shamelessly defected to the APC. He has failed miserably as a lawmaker, boasting 0 bills and 0 motions to his name since joining the National Assembly.

PoliticsSome Nairalanders Ignorance About VAT, What You Need To Know by Bobodee09(op): 7:51am On Dec 04, 2024
It is clear alot of people here don't even know what VAT is and is depressing.

Firstly , 4 tax reform bills was proposed and only one of this bills is actually causing issues cos selfish northern governors don't care if VAT is increased to 50% but fighting against sharing formula cos of there own pockets.

VAT means Value Added Tax.
It is actually a small tax people pay mostly on groceries, drinks, internet subscriptions, cable subscriptions, tickets etc
It is totally different from co operate tax ,income tax etc

Now people saying lagos will benefit the most cos most companies head offices are there are totally wrong, the tax this companies pay is totally different from VAT.

Lagos will actually benefit cos of it population and purchasing power of the people there. The more people buy things from stores, check into hotels, bar ,bet etc the more money for lagos.

Most northern governors are against it cos they mostly dont run stores or places were VAT can be charged on goods purchased in the north, there internet and cable subscriptions is also very low which means they won't be able generate much.
Alcohol and betting which is one of the major sources of VAT isnt allowed in there region.

We citizens majorly pay VAT on goods and services we purchase (selected one actually)
When next you go to your groceries stores kindly check the payment receipt you given so you see VAT you paid for what you purchased.

Lastly let read more and ask questions before writing about things cos is actually appalling seeing someone writing lagos will benefit the most cos oil companies head offices are in lagos, like what does oil companies have to do with VAT.

Omo I actually refrained from calling him an illiterate. I now see why the bill is having challenges. If he could articulate such rubbish in English language. Asides that car has nothing to do with VAT, how does the excise duties on cars be paid to Lagos instead of NPA? It's so tiring!!
Honestly am tired of reading people showing pure ignorance with so much boldness.

Most of them don't even no the meaning of VAT to start with, imagine him saying oil companies paying VAT.

Honestly people need to read more in this country cos it is appalling seeing an educated person writing about something he knows nothing about with confidence.
PoliticsRe: In Support Of The Tax Reform Bills - Punch Editorial by Bobodee09: 7:01am On Dec 04, 2024
Macphenson:
One of the most controversial issues in this Tax Reform Bill is that 60% of VAT to be shared by states will be given to the state it was collected from, It seems by this it will only favour mostly Lagos and Rivers State to the detriment of the Northern states who are collecting more VAT based on population.

Here is my concern, Lagos state was deliberately made the commercial headquaters of the Nation to the detriment of other states the more reason it collects more taxes.

Practically, All the cars entering the country pays their tax to only Lagos state. Even the cars to be used in Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta and Cross River states. Now this is not fair to these states as they have their own seaports but cars are not entering them, the taxes they are supposed to get as a state goes to Lagos state.

Also, Telecom companies pay their VAT in Lagos because their headquaters are located in Lagos, If this new bill is passed, that is no longer fair to all other states where the Telcom companies operate. Telcom companies should now start paying VAT to each state they operate as you can no longer rob Peter to pay Paul.

Oil companies have their headquaters located in Lagos while they operate in different states especially in the Niger Delta. This will no longer be fair if the bill is passed becaused those states where the oil companies operate will start demanding that the oil companies pay thier VAT in those states they operate.

The truth is this bill if passed, is seriously going to open litany of issues which I dont think at the moment the bill captured or resolved it.

Another worrisome dimension, this may prompt the oil producing states to start demanding for 60% of the oil revenues from their respective states, once this happens, chaos will reign supreme in the country.
Most you are just educated illiterate honestly.

So duties paid on cars is VAT, oil companies tax is VAT??

Like do you know the meaning of VAT??

If you are an undergraduate or a graduate you are a disgrace to Nigeria education system.
