There is something wrong with these policies and they will not end well. First it was banks trying to punish depositors because CBN refused to collect dollars they had "round tripped" (my own interpretation)http://leadership.ng/business/451345/banks-stop-accepting-dollar-deposits, then CBN made it an official policy, now they don't want you to spend your own money how and when you want when there is already a $50000 yearly limit. This is poor management from CBN and banks trying to force CBN's hand by making life difficult for the nation. They need to be called to order and CBN should come up with a comprehensive policy rather than this staccato ones as someone earlier said. And those saying there are other means pointing to paypal or whatever, there is no other means. The only other means is through the Form A and Form M and I guess we will wait to see if the banks will honour these or make things difficult. Last year, it was simply impossible for an ordinary person to get these in GTBank as you will be "advised to open a dom. account and use that instead.

Has any of those advocating Form A and M ever made a request for it? Banks actively discouraged this by making it very difficult to get and sometimes outrightly rejected such requests and encouraged domicilliary accounts and now, there is a sudden uturn? Or try transferring from Naira to dollar using Western Union and see if you will be successful. I believe the major cause of the fall in naira is a direct result of our dependence on oil exports and the recent fall in oil prices. Should there be policies to shore up the naira in the short term, yes; but these should be measured considering all factors not draconian policies that affect everybody (corrupt and legitimate alike). Extreme measures are never good in the long term and unless the government has a long term plan >10years, this is a short sighted solution to the imbalance between the naira and dollar. For those hailing this, know that there is a tendency to apply such mentality to everything (remember Maslow's hammer-Law of instruments: All problems look like a nail when you have a hammer). The next policy might affect you in a meaningless manner

good day y'all, being a long long while, this is gonna be a rather long post so i crave your indulgence. still a noob with this fta thing, just want to get some "clarifier" to enable me. being going throught the previous seasons post but still have a long way to go (the forum is quite prolific, there are over 350 overwhelming pages in all). an installer installed like majority of the sats but what i want to know is can i get the much coveted nilesat using a mesh dish. have the installer strong mesh dish and an orbitron mesh dish carried over from c-band dstv (not too certain of the dish sizes but i think the orbitron may be 1.8 or 2.4 and the strong 2.4 or 3 not really certain) i reside in makurdi, also what is the best lnb and stb to use, have a house strong 4652 but wouldn't want to tamper with that too much. i can take bearings from the working installations and coupled with the directions obtained from here, i think i have a chance. also regarding the nilesat, do i need extra stuff (like a cam) to enjoy the nilesat's or are the firmware updates sufficient? also going through previous posts, i came across something about dead irdeto cards, can i get an info regarding this as a dstv c-band and card are lying around and i would really like to get some sort of salvage value. another question, i would like to know if i can motorise my orbitron mesh dish (pictures attached) as it seems that the bottom configuration is kinda different from that of the strong that supports the motor. these are a lot of question and i would be very grateful for any help thrown my way. is the dstv 90cm dish and universal lnb of any use in fta?

i have a little suggestion, i don't know if this has been covered somewhere in the post but instead of directing new users to previous seasons and posts, how about consolidating all the info into a downloadable file that condenses all the info that they can use as a jumpstart, will upload my efforts towards that and the house can decide as regards the suggestion. it is just a barebones file without any acknowledgement yet as to the great contributors who without their efforts we would be nowhere. if the idea finds favours, we can add acknowledgements and also add some type of revision and volume numbering so as to keep track of changes.

have a strong decoder srt 4562 but it is a "production" decoder, i would like advice on what brand to get (one that is easily upgradeable) and can the dstv decoders be put into any sort of use? have two laying around now that fta seems to solve all our issues.

good day to all. I stumbled on this thread after picking up interest in fta as a result of an installation at my place. bin really impressed with what i have gone thru so far. jumped to s2 thinking it will be more relevant considering it is more recent but it seems i will have to go back to s1. you guys should keep up the good work. don't want to ask questions that might already been answered so will go thru the whole posts before asking. meanwhile i want to list my properties and any advice i can get is welcome. i have a 1.8m (i think) mesh dish lying fallow from a previous dstv c-band setup using a gardiner comm. digital c-band lnb (17K) and another 90cm ku dstv dish and lnb. i am in makurdi, benue and a complete novice but hoping to step up.
