@sista-jay, I've gotta have an idea of the business is first before coming down to Nigeria to do assessment if necessary. If I come down (as I have done for holidays) I will see a lot of business opportunities but not the challenges and mitigating factors inherent. The last time I came down I saw a few business opportunities but after consultation with experts in those fields they told me the pros and cons and I had to jettison those ideas.

@newmusic, I will never call anyone, the reason is, I want them to post their ideas and Nigerians can tell me if its worth doing.

@aasog, I already have landed property in Lagos.

@cvibe, like what?

@femary, my friend is doing the same and he is incurring lose(fuelling generator) as a result of bad power supply.

@opata, my passion is managing people which I am presently practising as a career. I want to do business, that is, make money from a venture.

@megadeals, I have a landed property in Lagos.

I cant believe the level of response to my post, I am just coming back since last time and I have come to realize Nairaland is not for people who pick on others but knowledgeable and intelligent eggheads.
I would like to respond to all the replies so if you reply off recent, aint ignoring you I just have to take it one at a time.

@Tayo-UK, thanks

@benin-man, thanks

@sly-k, I can do some of what you listed. What I am really after is for me not to be duped or conned and most importantly I want to have proper accounting.

@Suriuno, I will look into that and give you feedback.

@stormm, thank you. I cant find the book you suggested.

BusinessRe: What Business Can I Do In 9ja From U.k. Pls by bol(op): 6:58pm On Feb 24, 2010
@joebol & john_sho,  I dont think that is a business I can effectively manage. If not in good hands I will bite my finger at the end of the day.
In case my posting is vague, what I mean is a business I can supervise, clear and accurate accounting(If I run a fish business I cant ask you to send me dead fishes as evidence).

whats going on here seyemon replied to my post and I think the mederator deleted it, anyway @seyemon I understand interswitch entry charge is 150k which is too much while WEBPAY through GTBank is 75k, I was keen on the WEBPAY but was later told I need to have a corporate account despite having a current account with them.
I will give libertyreserve a go and give you feed back.
BusinessMode Of Payment For Services by bol(op): 3:49pm On Aug 10, 2009
Hi mates,
I have got a service(s) I want to introduce to the Nigeria market which will be a replica of what is being done in UK. As a result I have registered a company which was done in proxy and every other thing is set except for the mode of payment. Even banks would not open a company bank account for me except I am there in person,  so can you please suggest ways this service(s) can be paid for?

Bank transfer is the safest and best option. It will take less than 24 hours
banks in nigeria don't transfer to UK banks without stressing you out - they tell you about NDLEA and EFCC rules and regulations on money laundering which you have to comlpy with . Even to buy $ or £ they ask you to go and bring ya visa and ticket.  Can I know the bank in Nigeria that can tranfer to me in UK without stress please.

i see nothing wrong with the pics by the way. that red pepperm only will tempt anyone to come visit and taste real food(no gm nonsense)
why arent the red pepper displayed in Nig standard  supermarkets compared to ASDA or TESCO .At least we've got Shoprite, Sherries,shopingmall e.t.c in Nigeria.

I get your point, but we already have threads on this board that showcases our highbrow areas in Nigeria:

why try to sugarcoat  things what is odd/bad  in what he has shown?  undecided
I'm simply saying we've got to show the best of Nigeria. Had it been the pics was not going  beyond Nigeria it would have been a different ball game as it would be an awakening call for our Leader/rulers.
  What he has shown is  a fact, no doubt about that but I want to see the best of home. It's been ages I've visited Nigeria and such pics will not send the right signal.

@4 play

I ain't waiting till then, I do invite my white friends to this site and it will be completely eyesore if they get to see this.Many I have invited got to come to this site and on seeing this,my invitation may be rejected based on what they saw about Nigeria.
 You know first impression last longer, if they get to see this they would be of the impression that's the way the whole Nigeria is.
 Even in London their hardly a  minute stabbings or attempted stabbings are not perpetrated and this Britons have got the deceptive instinct  to paint London and UK in general as one of the best places to be on earth.
TravelRe: Over 1 Million Nigerians Live In The Uk, But Are They Useful To Nigeria? by bol(m): 7:50pm On Apr 21, 2007
Nigerians in the UK are useful perhaps you are judging from your experience from your unhelpful kinsmen in UK
TravelRe: Remembering Home (Nigeria) by bol(m): 7:45pm On Apr 21, 2007
@davidylan

Its good remembering home as a river who fails to remember is fountain will go dry but one reservation I have about your way of remembering home is the way and manner you go about it. You ought not to have showed the odds of home for the whole world to see. You ought to have shown the luxuries of home the supermarkets,the high brow areas e.t.c
Before I came to the UK I thought UK was heaven on earth judging from the clips of BBC,CNN and Sky but on getting here I discover they've got also their odds too .So we've got to potray home in a good light.
