Virus! The freelancer's life is fraught with downloads. I am forever downloading softwares, sample files and project files. Now, virus have invaded the system, and I thought the paid antivirus on it was powerful [bitdefender]. Guys, please i'll appreciate tips and tricks on this topic - how do you manage?

For those finding it difficult to verify their identity on freelancer. You can use your voters card to do that by uploading a clear picture of your voters card, both front and back, and then select National ID card as your verification mode, upload a clear picture of you holding your voters card and keyword.
It worked for me.

Thanks for this info. I'll try although my National ID card is really not clear; then both have different surnames - maiden and married. We shall cross the bridge however.

Would have done it if he had given me 48hours. I jejely tell am make he forget am, after spending 1hour on 1000words. Each hour of recording is about 9000 words. I know say I go eventually disappoint am, so make I kuku disappoint am on time. The other client wants three thousand words in 16hours on ten topics. Time was too short n when I started d job, I realized that there was scarcity of materials. I tell am say I no do. I no want make them come spoil my 5star rating wey I dey maintain. NOTE: they only awarded me the job, I do not accept until I've checked the feasibility of work. Can I offer quality? Can I finish on time?
Hopefully, guyman go buy ASUS x205 lappy as soon as am able to withdraw. The lapi get only 32gig, no CD room. But it will come preinstalled with office suite and the tin wey Trip me pass na the 12hour ba3. I call it the UNDEAD.

New bids are added for you 1 at a time depending on a set interval (determined by your level/membership). You do not have access to all the 100 bids at once.

However, @ Eddlad, I think this is the point at which you pay for another set of bids if you need more than you are gettiing - /renew/downgrade membership to the number of bids you need/ can afford now.

@boladale, how can I get more bids, I used my card to activate the 100 + free bids but I cant say I am even half way through them but am constantly told that I have exhausted my bids left.

How come? There 's a bid counter that should enable you to follow up how many bids you have at each given time. You might need to contact support. but wait! This na Ladywriter question.

Hello. one tip that i have learnt from this house that has greatly benefited me is to stay up to bid in the wee hours. some employers have urgent job to execute and will give it to immediately available freelancers. also weekends. then it is good to be the first or at least one of the first to bid on a job as the employer is posting it. he is likely to see your bid as it comes in and will want to chat you up straight away. then put in several bids daily, don't rest on one. then be available online! don't bid and then go offline forever. after getting your first few jobs and reviews, you can begin to regularise. hope this helps.

Twosquare, he is right. When I saw his comment, I want to Nipost's website and checked for the post codes of other states like Ogun and Ondo. You won't believe that only a few towns, like 2/3 are covered on the site.

I think this is so because they do not have a proper street naming system in place like we do in Lagos. Try it and see for yourself.

or because Lagos is jagajaga and really needs the postcodes.

I am working on my first project,gotten yesterday. My employer is UK-based. I am writing articles at $2.5 dollars per 500 words and she's reliable, at least from her reviews. I've been bidding for quite a while too, without any review. I guess you just have to persist and learn new ways to do things as you move on.

Forget that thing called "chat box" o. The only useful thing you can do with it is to chat with employers and attach documents, lobatan.
The only way you can reach out to new clients is through cold emailing, but not on freelancer.

For those of us who work on FV. If anybody ever asks for work sample, check if the account is new(opened on July and August) Plus the country of registration being Asia, please don't do it!
I was taking for a ride lastnite. One dude asked for a research sample with a long list of instructions. According to him, he wants to make sure I understood all the instructions before ordering my gig. As soon as I submitted the sample, the dude absconded.
I can't still believe I fell for that. Anyway that was lesson learnt. So be careful guys!

I think I allowed myself to be conned actually because I suspected from the beginning; after all I had been well-schooled on this platform. but I thought i should give it a try. It's a very new account, Indian of course, one gouthamharikumar guy. it was a transcription job.After he went quiet, I sent a msg asking for his feedback. when he didnt respond, i just knew and left it at that.

After it all, I thought I should really just have transcribed part of the document, not the whole. I think that's the strategy I will adopt for these set of people who claim they want to conduct a qualifying test now. I see the guy has gone on to post two other projects, I'm following him - I didn't check what about.

Ladywriter and other gurus, not to worry, you can only help us to make fewer mistakes - we will still make some. Why Freelancer allows all these scam on their website is what i don't understand. there is so much. and lots of unserious elements who never close their projects too.

Ok guys, here goes my weird testimony.
To start with, I'm a peppersoup addict. Not just any peppersoup, but fresh fish peppersoup with all the trimmings.
Before I began freelancing, I use to take it maybe once in a week if I was lucky to have any spare cash. But now, I confortably take it everyday without worries. Come to think of it, I was feeding the addiction last night as I completed a job.
