Seniors here please help with this. For fee paying PhD student, do one have to pay the full tuition at the time of visa lodging or it can be paid in installments?

@Aussie4life, I think buddie cannot nominate TAS 489 at this time, because, 263212 has been temporarily removed from the state occupation list, except he has a job offer, then he can go for TAS 190. His other option as you have said is 85 point for SA or if he can look at other related occupation that doesn't have strict condition. https://www.migration.tas.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/147267/TSOL_FY_17-18_-_18_September_2017.pdf
aussy4life:
Yes only Tasmania can nominate you and for the yellow colour you need to get high point 85 overall to be able to get nominated because it's already on supplementary list

I think the above mentioned occupations moved from the STSOL to MTLSSL were for visa subclass 186, 187 and 457. Please, the ogas should confirm this as well.

@ oga bellong, I think manucho can still nominate Agric tech. for Tasmania, since they recently relax their nomination criteria, for 489 though, if he wont mind. Please, follow the attached link and check "Category 3A -Oversea Applicant"

I was gathering the necessary documents, but, lately finds out my occupation (biotech) and other occupations its group has been removed.
During my NYSC days, I worked as a Life Science Technician in a University analyzing plant extract.

Questions for my ogas:

1. I am a PhD biotech researcher (1-2 semesters to go), can I apply as an agricultural consultant when all occupation opens in the new financial year by July? Note: My background is Biochem.
2. Can I use my NYSC in this case as a work experience for the agricultural consultant, I have no other experience than this, and my PhD is not a paid position? can this (NYSC experience) fly for VETASSESS evaluation? I can write my carrier episode to match any of the occupation I have mentioned.
3. If the answer to question 2 is yes. Considering the fact that there are two allowances earned during NYSC (Allowee and PPA), am I to use both or one of it? Note: My PPA salary alone was so small (5K) to be used in claiming its earned from the outline job, but I have my payment slips and I can as well get a bank statement.
4. Or should I focus on Life Science Technician/Science Technician?

Thanks to the ogas in anticipation.

Hello to you all,

I will like to commend the effort of bellong for opening this thread, with a step-wise procedure of migrating to Australia, and others for their immense contributions.

I graduated with a Bachelors and Masters in Biochemistry, I am presently a PhD candidate in Biotechnology.

After thoroughly going through this thread, and the links attached. I realize, I will be qualified to apply for the listed occupation below after graduation;

1. Research and Development Manager
2. Life scientist nec
3. Natural and Physical Science Professional nec

These occupations are under Victoria state nomination list (CSOL).

On the "visa occupation nomination list for graduates", 'Biotechnology and Science' is used as a heading of the occupation table, but not in the list. My question is that, should I apply to VETASSESS based on 'Biotechnology' or one of the above listed occupations which are related to it?

Thanks
