PoliticsRe: Could The Change We Voted Be A Scam? by boldaslion: 1:53pm On Mar 10, 2016
semochendo1:
COULD THE chANgE WE VOTED BE A SCAM?

Many conscientious mediocrity like me might have been worried if we had not made the wrong decision voting for CHANGE, especially at the federal level. I decided to post this after realizing some of my political associates, who on countless number of times, have asked if we had not made a huge mistake voting CHaNgE, and as such decided to resign to a regrettable silence. But before we scold ourselves let's think about these.

1. Replacing PGEJ in 2015 was indisputably imminent, and the only tested and trusted option was PMB, hence, voting him was never a wrong decision, let's get that straight.

2. The change is not materializing at expected frequency because the Buhari we voted can not act like the Buhari we knew. The Buhari of action was in the military, when he can take actions without recourse to democratic procedure, but now, the so called democratic processes is part of the reason we've not felt the chanGe we voted. One thing we can be rest assure is that, you will always get justice under PMB.

Now I think we can forgive ourselves?

MY WORRIES!

I deliberately chose to write chAnGe in this manner of mixing alphabets to portray the unbearable situation we've found ourselves as a country. Even the non living things and animals could feel the pains. People are carrying their phones about looking for where to charge, I had to feed my birds with cooked rice because the woman who sells their food around couldn't get fuel to grind and mix. The power outage coupled with fuel scarcity is a frustrating and unimaginable circumstance.

I'm as worried as every supporter of change, I'm most worried that our President is frustrated and confused by now. Frustrated because he couldn't exercise his power as much as he wants, confused because his appointed ministers he so much believed in couldn't come out with reasonable programs/project Nigerians should be feeling by now.

I'm most disappointed that an administration that based his campaign on a solid propaganda of identifying almost all the problems of the last administration and the need to vote them to solve it, an administration one would expect to hit the ground running, is now full of blame games and excuses. No man has ever achieved something profound giving excuses and pointing accusing fingers.

MY CONCLUSION.

As much as this administration deserve a serious objective criticism to get them on their feet, we need to understand there's no GAIN without PAIN. Maybe, this is the pain we need to endure to gain the CHANGE we want. Don't let us just criticize, let's suggest solutions for them when necessary. So that even when they are confused, they can tap from us as concerned citizens.

God bless Nigeria.
After reading your write-up I was full of pity for you. I will speak the bitter truth to you. 1. You justified the forced removal of GEJ (because he was NEVER voted out.) and concluded that INSTALLING PMB at all cost as part of the agenda of 'THE BORN TO RULE' owners of Nigeria to take over (OR NIGERIA WILL GO TO CIVIL WAR,ACCORDING TO THEOPHILLUS DANJUMA) better option. If he is actually a better option, why the regret now, just 9 months after. FACT. You made a MORTAL MISTAKE voting PMB.
2. You claimed to know PMB but REGRET that the present PMB is NOT the one you knew. REASON. He cannot perform because of 'the so-called democratic procedure'. Now I ask, was it not under the same democratic procedure that GEJ worked?. PMB is already a failure because in your own estimation he can't perform under democratic dispensation. Then, why did he come out?. You said you can get justice under PMB. Is it the kind of justice that shiites muslims are getting? Is it the kind of justice Nnamdi Kanu is getting while Buhari is looking for genuine boko haram so that he will give them amnesty (source: his first media chat). Is it the kind of justice the people in Benue are getting with a LOUD SILENCE from the presidency over their massacre.(BECAUSE OF COURSE IT IS PART OF THE FULANI EXPANSIONISM). Well, you said you can forgive yourself, go ahead but God will not forgive you UNLESS and UNTIL you repent of your evil gang up against the innocent GEJ.
YOUR WORRIES. It's still very early in the day to get worried 'cos your pain will end up being a needless pain without gain.
MY CONCLUSSION.
GEJ came on as acting president in 2010 and you guys accused him of destroying Nigeria and concluded that he was the problem of Nigeria. Here are some of his modest achievements,
1. Establishment of 12 plus 2 New Federal Universities,
2. Privatizing of the power sector that strongman OBJ could not do and Commissioning of about 33 power plants,
3. Revamping of the agricultural sector,
4. Youth Empowerment through YOUWIN programme e.t.c.
5. Revamping of the moribund railway sector.
6. Signing of the FOI bill into law which other presidents before him avoided like plague.
7. Maintaining a stable economy for the period of his stay.
8. Maintaining a single digit inflationary rate.
9. Creating of over 5million jobs, check bureau of statistics.
10. Implementing integrated payroll and personnel identification scheme (through which he fought corruption scientifically)
11. Implementation of e-wallet for all registered farmers (through which he scientifically eliminated fertilizer subsidy scam of over 40yrs)
12. Implementing the National auto policy plan (today we a locally manufactured car brands)
13. Creating enabling environment for investment (today Nigeria is a net exporter of cement).
14. Africa's biggest rice mill was established in Adamawa by Olams farms.
15. Africa's biggest tomato puree paste factory was established in Kano.
16. Kaduna textile mills came to life.
17. ABOUT 22 car assembling companies came into Nigeria.
18. Maintaining of rule of law and freedom of speech.
19. Reconstructed about 25000km of our roads that were hitherto un-motorable.
20. Making Nigeria biggest economy in Africa.
21. Restructuring the oil and gas sector (by implementing local content policy thereby making Nigerians become major players in the sector)
22. Sending Ebola away in 2months while limiting the spread to only three states, recording only 7 deaths (while a less dangerous lassa fever has killed over 100 people, spreading to over 21 states.
23. UNTH Enugu emerged the best hospital in the world in cleft-care management out hospitals from 86 countries tested.
24. Our airspace became safer with the remodelling and upgrading of our airports.
25. The only president to commission 4 warships at a go.
26. He defeated boko haram in six weeks making it possible for both governorship and presidential elections to hold in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno.
27. He is the only president that told as that fuel subsidy is a fraud and needs to be removed but you and your compatriots opposed him in the name of politics. Today, what is the story?
28. Construction of east west road.
29. Awarding of 2nd Niger bridge.
30. Reconstruction of Lagos Ibadan exp. way
For want of time I will stop here.
NOTE: GEJ's greatest undoing. NOT BLOWING HIS OWN TRUMPETS.
BOTTOMLINE: You can regret as much as you like, but too late. Unless you repent and apologize to GEJ, there is no remedy for you and you Nigeria. Ignore at your own peril.

Zoharariel:
Shut the fvck up! The is the price you pay for your avarice, over-ambition & greedy lust for power.

In the early hours of January 15th, Kaduna Nzeogwu disgruntled over a list of items with the ruling political class and with disdain for certain regionalists, led an army of fellow Igbo Majors and a Yoruba, Ademoyega Adewale, in a military coup against the political leadership of Nigeria.

Kaduna Nzeogwu’s Igbo squad killed the premier of the Northern and Western regions but of course left the Igbo Eastern premiere alive.

He killed the Finance minister (Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh), who was Nigeria’s #3 man, but left the number #2 man. Azikiwe was left alive.

As if that wasn't enough, an Igbo bakery made a loaf of bread, depicting Nzeogwu as the Saint in the ‘Saint George and the Dragon’ medieval crusader story, from the 7-11th century.

The loaf of bread had Nzeogwu as Saint George, standing over and  killing Sardauna, who was depicted as the bleeding dragon.

This depiction was highly provocative to a welcoming Hausa-Fulani, still licking their wounds and being hospitable, after an unprovoked Igbo led military coup and assassination of their finest.

This triggered the first inter-ethnic crises in the North. Igbos fled to the East, and returned only later under guarantee of their safety by president Ironsi.

Later that year, in July, General Murtala Muhammed, taking advantage of the precedent, led a very bloody, 4-day coup and overthrew the Ironsi Government.

At this stage, Igbos in the north were highly targeted in outbreaks of ethnic violence. Thousands were reportedly killed, though the numbers can not be verified. And this was the episode of the Igbo exodus to the South.

Deal with it! The Igbos were certainly the cause of their predicaments and we will keep reminding you each time you choose to blame everyone & everything else for your woes.
It's unfortunate that history is turned upside down and people like you are easily deceived. The coup was simply termed an Igbo coup just to justify the planned subsequent killing of the Igbos. A simple google search will help you. Just google 'list of Nzeogwu coup plotters'. Apart from Nzeogwu and one other person from midwestern Nigeria that happen to be Delta Igbos there is no core Igbo man in that coup. It was indeed dominated by the yoruba, middle belt and hausa. Check out the names of the 14 of them that carried out the coup.

Nigeria is not a place for rational or civilized people. This is what made Nnamdi Kanu to call it a Zoo and he is being crucified and villified. If you ever think that these people will ever change, you are making a very big mistake, because it's in their DNA, it's part of their useless culture and religious belief. Forget about those that will come up to defend their religion because of public outcry and widespread condemnation. There is nothing we can do about it as long as we remain in the same entity with these perverts ****

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Needs More Than Patch-patch Change- Tinubu by boldaslion: 8:34pm On Feb 27, 2016
metronaija:
The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu defined today the great task ahead to navigate Nigeria out its present economic quagmire, declaring that what the nation needs is a fundamental departure from the way we have been doing business.

“Nigeria needs some fundamental restructuring both politically and economically. Not the constant tinkering and patch-patch we often resort to. We must therefore begin with fundamentally restructuring the economy if we are to rid ourselves of joblessness”, he said.

He spoke in Abuja today at a ceremony at University of Abuja where he was awarded a doctorate degree in Business Administration. Former vice-president Dr. Alex Ekwueme and two former chief justices of Nigeria, Justice Idris Kutigi and Justice Maryam Aloma Mukhtar were also honoured with doctorate degrees.

Tinubu spoke on behalf of other honorees and devoted his speech on the problems besetting the nation and how to steer it out of the problems.

“Our nation faces many challenges, some imposed on us by forces beyond our control, some self inflicted due to the errant ways of past leadership and governance.

“Nigeria stands at the threshold of sober decision. The ways in which we have grown accustomed to running this nation suddenly no longer suffice. If we are to continue as we have done over the years that malpractice will deliver us into the vice grip of national failure. That which we used to do and laugh at ourselves for our errant ways is no longer a joking matter. It is now fatal.

“We must reform and do so quickly and with alertness to the severity of the circumstances mounting about us.

“While confronting multiple major challenges. I believe this government has the chance and the mission to better our society and forge a new model for our political economy. We have demonstrated the courage and determination to change a non-performing government through a democratic election. This electoral success has brought new chaallenges. These challenges are numerous and we must brace up and confront them.

“We dare not rest on the satisfaction of electoral victory alone. We must continue our strive toward democratic governance that can usher in a progressive era of broad prosperity, development, democracy and human dignity for our people. This is our preoccupation. Our desire.

“If you asked me to describe the state of the nation I would say it is a difficult but encouraging one, we are emerging from a period of great moral uncertainty where vice and virtue were too often indistinguishable and too often confused, one for the other.

“We must ask- are we hopeless due to the sordid nature of the past 16 years? No. Are the challenges left behind too much to surmount? No.

“Even though the nation before stood half in the light of progress and half in the darkness of injustice, there is much hope because we now have a government committed to a new era of discipline and prosperity. The journey we have embarked upon will not be easy. It requires us all to make sacrifices and persevere until we achieve…

“Agriculture remains a key pillar in our development. We must return to the days when Nigeria had surplus and exported food. Now we import too much food for our own good and security.
Our small farmers sink under the reality of rising costs and too little income from the crops they raise. Moreover, we annually lose arable land to desert encroachment.

“I believe the current administration under President Buhari has set its priorities right in this regard. Our farmers will once be proud again. We believe farmers need to earn a sufficient enough income that will bring prosperity back to their families. They must be encouraged and supported.

“A vibrant agriculture sector will produce enough food for domestic consumption and for export, thus earning foreign exchange as it did decades ago. It will also create and maintain jobs.

“We must also create jobs for our growing urban populations. We must create production to meet the rapidly expanding population. This means changing the oil export model upon which our economy has for too long been based. This means shifting to were human labor and ingenuity now feature as the catalyst of economic development and wealth creation. This means the creation of industries. This means government must embark on fiscal policies and programs that encourage industrial development and employment to create the openings and opportunities that shall employ many of you seated here and many others like you.

“As a progressive government we have as one of our top priorities the lifting of 20 per cent of Nigerians out of poverty within the first four years of our administration. To happen, the state must be a catalyst for job creation and economic development that touches all the people not just a narrow growth that benefits a small number.

“We shall do this by implementing a national industrial policy linked to a national infrastructural plan and a national employment strategy.

“Before our children can dream of a university education they must first enjoy the foundational education of primary school. Our position is that we make a special effort to draw all children to school, particularly the poor. We cannot afford to allow poverty to keep children out of the classroom. If so we are suborning a life of ignorance and poverty for millions of our young ones.

“This progressive government is committed to providing all school-age children one free meal daily. This seems a simple thing. But it is also wise and prudent. A hungry student does not learn. If the child is too hungry too often, he stops attending school altogether.

“By this program, students will more eagerly attend because their stomachs as well as their minds shall be fed. Parents will encourage children to attend because this will take the children off the streets while also alleviating pressure on the family to feed the children.
This current leadership will anchor its efforts to re-build Nigeria on massive industrialization and the re-structuring of the economy to allow for growth. Then, will hope be rekindled for millions of our people and a country of great potentials and possibilities will emerge.”

You pulled down GEJ's govt out of insatiable greed and lust for power which blinded you from the truth you pushed out GEJ from power by all means and at all costs even at the risk of fighting a civil war in case your plan failed. when GEJ came to power the food import bill was about N1.7 trillion and as at when he handed over it had come down to just over N600b. Nigeria was nearing self sufficiency in food production. The flooding that happened in 2012 notwithstanding there was no hunger or famine. Now all the efforts seem to be going down the drain, just because a clueless group of people are in power. Take for instance, the naira has been on a free fall for the same reason but was recently halted for the simple reason that a certain Ifeanyi Ubah issued a statement. This shows that the dwindling economy is a result of having people in power who have no idea of what to do to better the life of the citizenry.
