Shut the fvck up! The is the price you pay for your avarice, over-ambition & greedy lust for power.

In the early hours of January 15th, Kaduna Nzeogwu disgruntled over a list of items with the ruling political class and with disdain for certain regionalists, led an army of fellow Igbo Majors and a Yoruba, Ademoyega Adewale, in a military coup against the political leadership of Nigeria.

Kaduna Nzeogwu’s Igbo squad killed the premier of the Northern and Western regions but of course left the Igbo Eastern premiere alive.

He killed the Finance minister (Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh), who was Nigeria’s #3 man, but left the number #2 man. Azikiwe was left alive.

As if that wasn't enough, an Igbo bakery made a loaf of bread, depicting Nzeogwu as the Saint in the ‘Saint George and the Dragon’ medieval crusader story, from the 7-11th century.

The loaf of bread had Nzeogwu as Saint George, standing over and  killing Sardauna, who was depicted as the bleeding dragon.

This depiction was highly provocative to a welcoming Hausa-Fulani, still licking their wounds and being hospitable, after an unprovoked Igbo led military coup and assassination of their finest.

This triggered the first inter-ethnic crises in the North. Igbos fled to the East, and returned only later under guarantee of their safety by president Ironsi.

Later that year, in July, General Murtala Muhammed, taking advantage of the precedent, led a very bloody, 4-day coup and overthrew the Ironsi Government.

At this stage, Igbos in the north were highly targeted in outbreaks of ethnic violence. Thousands were reportedly killed, though the numbers can not be verified. And this was the episode of the Igbo exodus to the South.

Deal with it! The Igbos were certainly the cause of their predicaments and we will keep reminding you each time you choose to blame everyone & everything else for your woes.

Close your mouth, if you have chosen to be poor forever then don't drag ambitious people like us to dine with you. All this thing wey you dey talk, where were you when they happened. lolz Nigerian historian.

OK, I'm Bini. I'm a Nigerian too. The Bini empire was so great, they ruled all the way to Lagos. The Ibos were still near-savages who had not evolved to forming even monarchical government (they deceive themselves by saying they were democrats/republicans; why are they now forming kingship?) I no gree until Bini man is president! You people are so dumb; who told you only Ibo and Yoruba has access to the presidency from the south? With all the setback Ibo has caused Nigeria, they even particularly do not deserve Nigerian presidency until we find one in the manner of Azikiwe whom you jingoists mocked and destroyed in favour of your tribal champion Ojukwu. Yeye ppl. I don't want to hear anybody tell me Ibo must be president because its their turn. What turn? It is the turn of Edo, or junkun, or Gwari. You know how many ethnic groups exist in Nigeria? The North has done remarkably well as we always talk of "North" and not Hausa, Fulani. You know the ethnic group of Gowon, Babangida? I bet they're Hausa/Fulani to you cos we're so dumb in the South. The only problem with the North is Islam; other than that they're 1000 times better than the South politically[/s]

close your smelly mouth oga since you believe the hausa/fulani are the best rulers and should rule biniland forever, how is that the problem of easterners or anyone else. Why don't you pack your family and underaged duaghters to the emir palace in the spirit of one nigeria. If you've condemned your self to fulani rule for the next 500 years in biniland, why should the East join you in your folly? All these Edo muslims from auchi sef. grin grin grin

Gbam ! Tell them from rooftops.
They need to be reminded of their averice, treachery, inordinate ambition, intolerance, arrogance and false self-awarded wisdom.
They introduced ethnic cleansing and tribalism into the Nigeria lexicon.
Emmanuel Ifeajuna was a typical example of Ibo's crass tribalism.
Ironsi further murdered peace and unity in Nigeria through his imposition of a Unitary system of government, a prelude to Ibo domination of Nigeria.
They need be reminded always that playing the victim by them does not impress those that witnessed the events of those days.
They got and are still getting what they deserved.

Nice post you got up there except you forgot to include inciting statements made
by your leaders anyway that is history and thanks for reminding the Igbo's that they are the architect of their problems but since we can't remain in the past there has to be a solution to these problem and to them they don't want to be part of these country anymore so why not allow them be on their own

It's unfortunate that history is turned upside down and people like you are easily deceived. The coup was simply termed an Igbo coup just to justify the planned subsequent killing of the Igbos. A simple google search will help you. Just google 'list of Nzeogwu coup plotters'. Apart from Nzeogwu and one other person from midwestern Nigeria that happen to be Delta Igbos there is no core Igbo man in that coup. It was indeed dominated by the yoruba, middle belt and hausa. Check out the names of the 14 of them that carried out the coup.
