'we should go back to the hospital' i said to Nathan as i dressed up 'we left there in a hurry and without telling your mum, she should be worried by now'

I was shaken and i knew it was obvious. Of course, i just lost something i never thought i'd lose, at least not now.

He hugged my from behind and kissed my neck, i shivered. What was it about Nathan that made me shiver at the slightest shiver.

'Nene...' he spoke softly then turned me to face him 'are you scared?'

I shook my head.

He kissed my nose lightly 'you are'

'i'm not'

'i'm sorry if you feel i took advantage of you. I love you Nene. I'll never leave you'

I sighed 'isnt that the same thing every other guy will promise every girl they sleep with?' i searched his face. If there was anything more than love, then that was what i felt for this guy. I wondered when and how my feelings for him grew to this extent. I barely knew him.

He shook his head 'Nene, i've never disvirgined any girl in my 26yrs of existence, 12yrs of sexual experience. You gave me your treasure and i promise to keep it in my heart forever. Trust me Nene, i love you. I fell in love with you at first sight. I've never fallen in love with anyone before...'

'what of that girl at the hotel?'

'Jolade?' he sighed 'yes, she's my fiancee, but i didnt propose to her. Its my mum and her mum arranging the marriage stuff, but you know no one can force me into doing what i dont want to. You're the woman i want to spend the rest of my life with...no one else'

I lowered my head. Men were jerks! I knew, but Nathan, was...was he different? 'i need you to promise me something Nath...'

'what?'

'promise me...that you wont go back to your reckless life. You wont smoke...promise me that'

'i promise you honey. If you dont like me smoking then i'm going to stop...for your sake'

'i need us to do something else....'

'what is that?'

'a blood convenant'

He withdrew back a bit 'is that necessary?'

I stood up and walked to the window 'if we are going to be together, then i have to be sure about what i'm getting myself into'

He was behind me in an instant...his hand wrapped around my shoulders. I closed my eyes.

'i love you Nene...and if its a blood convenant you want, then so be it'

I turned to him with my eyes open. Then i went into his arms 'i love you too Nath'

He looked at me with love-filled eyes. I walked to the bed where my purse was, i opened it and searched for a razor blade. I opened the mini refridgerator and brought out a bottled water and a glass cup, i poured water into the cup.

Then i walked to him. He looked at me with nervous eyes. I took his hand and pierced it with the razor blade. He didnt winced. I dipped his thumb into the glass cup, his blood dropped.

Then i pierced mine, i winced and dipped it in the glass cup, then i held his hands, we both held the glass cup.

'with this blood of mine floathing in this water, i promise you Nathan, that i'll never leave you. No one will be able to separate us. As i've given you my virginity, you alone shall have access to my body. I shall not have an affair with another man, i shall not sleep with another man. I'll love you till eternity. Only death can do us part, if i ever leave you, if i ever cheat on you or harbour feelings for another man, then i shall run mad. This convenant can only be annulled if one of us dies'

He cleared his throat 'with this blood of mine flowing in this water, i also promise you Kainene, that i'll never break your heart. I'll love you till eternity, i'll never have sex with another woman neither shall i harbour any feelings whatsoever for another woman apart from you. If i do so, i shall run mad and rot to death. This convenant can only be annulled by the death of any of us. I love you Kainene'

He drank the water first. Then i drank the remaining. I dropped the glass cup on the shelf beside us and we kissed.
