There are strong indications that the All Progressives Congress (APC) may not play fair as the 2016 Edo State Gubernatorial elections unfolds tomorrow.

Sources close to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have revealed that the APC plans to.unleash the Directorate of State Security (DSS) which is under its control at the Federal level to harrass and arrest prominent Edo indigenes who have pitched their tent with the opposition

Those who have been penciled down include Chief Tony Anenih, Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igninedion and Chief Tom Ikimi. This news is spreading like wild fire.

It was also gathered that stories making the rounds on the streets is that APC supporters are taunting their PDP friends that they will be wasting time to.go and vote tomorrow because results have already been written in Abuja and that the wnnier has been determined.

Of course the preposterous statement has alarmed the PDP camp.and they have vowed to non'violently protect their votes and ensure that they turnout massively for their candidate, Pastor Osaze Ize-Iyamu

Not new,PDP started it.PDP did worse things in the past .

There seems to be a calculated plan being spearheaded by some influential people at the Presidency to destabilize the SouthWest APC by seizing the structure of the Party from Tinubu's influence, maybe in the hope that he won't have as much influence as he did the last time around. But if care is not taken, this may end up being the undoing of this administration come 2019 because PMB is fast becoming very unpopular all over the country, including the SW, by the day, therefore if the administration doesn't begin to deliver on its promises, I don't see the President winning the region come 2019 (should he choose to run for re-election). With the hostile attitude towards Tinubu, he can certainly forget winning Lagos. I doubt if he will can Oyo as well again because Oyo is a very volatile state politically and the mystic that led APC to victory there last year has since worn-off.

As things stand, Ondo is probably going to remain PDP considering this avoidable APC crisis that has the Presidency's fingerprints all over it. Politics 101 tells us that you can only rig successfully where you are popular, which was why Fayemi lost to Fayose, even though Oshokomole clearly had a lot of help rigging that election to unseat an incumbent. I don't know who is advising Buhari, but he needs to understand that he can't win re-election without the SouthWest and the Middlebelt where he is fast losing popularity (history has taught us that he needs more than the NorthWest and NorthEast to win an election, the SouthEast and SouthSouth are no-go areas for him), so he shouldn't make things any worse for himself by alienating the very people that helped him win the last time around (after previous failed attempts) for political neophytes who can't even win their own polling unit or ward.

Those people that foisted Aketi on Ondo State APC as its gubernatorial candidate will definitely blame themselves at the end of the day ,Aketi cannot defend this fraudulent mandate given to him.People should conduct opinion poll within APC fold,you will definitely know that Aketi has a lot of work to do,majority are not happy with his emergence. Oyegun and co. are just fighting a lost battle at the moment,APC will not win with the current happenings in the party,they overestimated Aketi and underestimated Tinubu political structure at their own detriment.

Buhari,fayemi,Fashola and other Aso Rock collaborators should come and campaign for their unpopular candidate,to sustain this injustice they need to perpetrate another injustice.Majority of APC members in Ondo State will work against Aketi. Oke,Borrofice and Abraham are more on ground in Ondo State political terrain.

Oke,Borrofice,and Abraham are the major pillars of APC in Ondo State,their departure will lead to the collapse of the Party.Aketi does not have the needed structure to win election,the people that manipulated the primary election for him should come to Ondo State to campaign and will shall see the outcome.

If this news is true,Aketi is on his own,he cannot win the election.Fashola,Fayemi and other members of their gang have huge task at hand to convince people to vote Aketi,he emerged through a primary election PDP members and road side food vendor voted as delegates.

Tinubu is not an issue in this case,Aketi couldn't have emerged the winner if credible primary election was conducted,he has no political structure in Ondo State.

Aketi is on his own,he doesn't have the needed political structure to win election in Ondo State, the man is not mature,his level of maturity does not have direct relationship with his age and he talks anyhow without thinking about the consequence of his statement.

Politics is about interest and those who have interest in him could finance his election in as much as their interest will be protected.

I'm from Ondo State,Tinubu influence is not all about financial aspect,but he has the needed political foot soldiers within Ondo state that will make Aketi's political aspiration a mirage,he needs to beg him. They protested against Asiwaju Ajayi Borrofice not Tinubu,the protesters believed that Borrofice should have stepped down for Abraham,because Borrofice is a serving senator and also the asiwaju of Akoko land.

The delegate list was manipulated in favour of Aketi. Aketi is on his own ,he should try his luck. From my calculation,aketi would win although boroffice or abraham would have been better products.with the transparent manner the apc primaries went,I see aketi winning ondo.he would win the 6 lgas in ondo north by a wide margin.in ondo central,he would at least win one or 2 lgas with a slim margin(ifedore and idanre).in ondo south with the support of oke,he can win at least 3 or 4 lgas with a slim margin.pdp would only win in akure land,ondo land and 2 or 3 lgas in the south and would be undone in the northern zone

Akeredolu needs to pacify many people ,he said so many things against 'Akoko anointed Son' because his ambition beclouded his sense of reasoning. We may decide to rally round Agunloye.

That's not true.

In 2012, Mimiko had a decent or modest record of achievements. He was not contesting as a weak governor but as a modestly successful governor. Also, he romanced PDP but wise enough to avoid the party because he knew PDP was highly detested in SW at the time. It was even after Fayose was trying to hijack PDP structure in SW that he formally decamped. The point is there was no good reason to vote again him in 2012, party wise or performance related.

Additionally, he was running as a candidate from Ondo central where the chunk of the votes are. He held Ondo central and fight it out in Ondo North. Since Aketi, the ACN's candidate was not popular, Mimiko had a good run in Ondo North. With a combination of good run in Ondo North and Ondo Central, he won. In Ondo South, Oke won overwhelmingly to come second. He is adopting the same strategy now with a slight modification. He probably thought an Akoko person would emerge and as such was training his arsenal for Ondo South. As it is now, if the Akoko candidates--Abraham and Boroffice--are not willing to go all out for Aketi, Mimiko might even have an impressive showing in Ondo North.

Also, in 2012, GEJ was also supporting Mimiko because he didn't want Ondo to fall into ACN's hands. Was Tinubu also responsible for inability of Aketi to win in his own ward? So it was a combination of Aketi's unpopularity, GEJ's interest and Mimiko's decent performance laced with strategic political maneuvering that saw him won. It has absolutely nothing to do with Tinubu.

Aketi said many things that may still work against him,the people that helped him in 2012 will not trust him again.

Aketi has used his mouth to bring disaffection within the party,because of his unguided utterances.He needs to embark on serious reconciliation process if wants to win the election.
