dustydee:Israel is not one of the countries that succeeded in combating terrorism. It only suppresses Palestinians. it has never succeeded in preventing an attack against its people. USA, UK, Egypt, South Africa, India have done much better job than Israel |

Silly idea the hell no, absolutely not. Is there a nation on earth has done such thing. It is not a football team, it is police and security issue. But Nigeria must ask for international assistance as there is need to train all security forces, including intelligence, SSS, police etc. It is very obvious that they are not up to the threat. It is better to ask the assistance of other countries who could overcome terrorism challenge, as USA, Uk, Egypt, South Africa, India |
First I wanted to rebuke and curse Boko Haram whatever they are real or not, then I read all of these shallow heads like forsbell using the opportunity to insult Isalm and Muslims. They didn’t even mentioned that the innocent victims mostly would be Muslims, they do not consider that most of Boko Haram’s victoms are Muslims. They do not consider the bloody bombers in Niger Delta are Christians. They do not want to admit that the followers of the religion of Love have killed 100 times more than others. Only in the Americas, 100 million were killed for religious purpose. But, Is it the time to come with all of this nonsense or addressing the security issue in the right way. Shallow Heads keep away, let serious minds discuss a very serious issues |
another thing, I guess increasing the price will reduce the fuel consumption, at least for a while. That will reduce pressures on Naira too. But remember, this is Nigeria where nothing goes as the book says. So rest your mind and take what comes as it comes, as usual. |
Fhemmmy:oga Fhemmy I guess it will reduce pressures on Naira against USD at least on official scale, CBN. The govt was providing $ for fuel importation then pay part of the cost (which is in USD) from the reserves as consumers are not covering all costs. With subsidy removal, the govt will provide $ for fuel importation and get all back. Moreover, the govt will be more concerning about Naira stability otherwise it will reflect again on fuel price causing another circle of strike, which shows the govt hopeless and unable to control the country as 2 organizations can paralyze the country. By the way, I am with the ongoing strike. There is no govt increases the fuel price over 100% over night without causing real revolution, not just strike. |
@okeyxyz, You got correctly I am sure about one thing, if there is a genuine black manufacturer on earth, he can never be in Nigeria. The system here produces only consumers not manufacturers. Manufacturing is absolutely night mare of investors in Nigeria. Importation/ trade business is much easier and profitable than manufacturing. For example, importation of stoves is easier than manufacturing, assembling is the highest that can be done. Even assembling is not profitable as trade. Especially that if you are manufacturing a stove, then you need to go through the whole way alone, I mean manufacturing almost everything as there is no much factories around. When I heard GEJ is talking about automotive manufacturing here, in a country that doesn’t manufacture a tire, I just laughed. It is just talk for local political consumption. Dunlop closed the last tire factory after Michelin did, just to adopt importation only. |
Oga mordz, nice topic you are researching but tough one. Ethnically, black man has long way in inventions and manufacturing since 19th century. I did on line research and discovered many afro-Americans has played significant role in invention & manufacturing area. there are many websites that give information about it. http://www.blackinventor.com/ Meanwhile, looking for such pure Ethnic (black) manufacturing is deceiving. There is no such pure ethnic manufacturing in our modern world. Even in Japan (e.g. Toshiba, Hitachi, etc) you will see some machines that are made in USA. The same in USA in Microsoft, you will see some components made in Japan or even China. There is no such ethnic boundaries, I guess. However, I have to admit that most of black inventors & manufacturers are Americans. |

Sorry folks Federal Government and NLC Meeting End in Deadlock The meeting between the Organised Labour and the Federal Government has ended in a deadlock. Labour says the strike continues tomorrow across the country as compromise is being made but no agreement has been reached yet as negotiations continue on Saturday,14th of January. The meeting initially began between the President and the Governors, with labour joining later. Earlier yesterday, the Federal Government and Organised Labour met behind closed doors in Abuja Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory in a bid to fashion out a solution. Prior to the closed door meeting, the Chairman of the House ADHOC Committee, Patrick Ikhariale appealed to both teams to see the meeting as an opportunity to make the best decision for Nigeria. The Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator Ayim Pius Ayim also asked Labour to call off the strike as negotiation can only go on in a peaceful atmosphere. The Minister of Labour; Mr Emeka Wogu also appealed to the Labour Union and Civil Society Organisations to call of the strike. channels TV website |
moshoodn:It is UNconfirmed news, and hard to believe, no president till now went back in his decision unless JEG wants to be the first |
mavinc4u:Are you serious perhaps u ve been abroad Anyway, in November 2008 USD jumped from 118 to 135, it didnt stop till reached 186 in the first quarter of 2009 and the official rate became 150s ![]() |
mahabone:It is expected rate as we are heading to Xmass holiday. Please for every1 do not consider the in the weekends or holidays as the normal rate in other days. At then, mallams buy less and sell more than the rate in other days. After All, Thank God that December is almost gone and the rate still around the reasonable field. I was very affraid that what happened in 2008 might happen again, God forbid Merry Xmass NL |
alveerah:Ask the Failure Intelligence, perhaps will tell you they are looking just for someone to kill who should be northern and Muslim. By the way many here are praising the Task force just becuase they killed Muslims, but when the Task Force does the same in South South you hear another chant, UNCIVILISATION |
eridah2007:If the whole GREAT Nigerian army, SSS and The Nigerian Intelligence DO not know how to disarm them arresting even few to question them for more information, THEN the end of this country is closer than our nose. Committing masacres will result only contra massacres and endless chain of bloody violence. Your uncivilised attitude and brain doesnt change your mistakes into correct ones, you will still UNCIVILISED no less no more |

If you read the news you are commenting, first it was said that “The Joint Task Force launched a successful operation” which means the army attacked a place then quoted from the Army Chief that “They (Boko Haram members) came with sophisticated and heavy weaponry …. but our trained soldiers subdued them” Who attacked whom?! When the army killed 600 persons claiming they were armed attackers, news photos showed that most of them were shot at their back. The innocent villagers were trying to run for their life from the random gun fire by police. It was an international scandal so Late Pres. Yaradua had to announce that Nigeria will start investigation on that incident which was just a lie Being a civilized is a way you choose or deny in your life. It is not a car you drive, cloth you ware or money you spend. It is ethics you believe in even if it is against your will. That is why we still faaaaaaarrrr away of being civilized nation because inside most of us a part that denies the others’ rights for any reason, religious, ethnic, tribe or even social class. |
The issue is “Are we CIVILISED nation or not?” Any killing out of the law is absolutely Illegitimate. How I know that those people are really Boko Haram. If they are really Boko Hraram arrest and bring them to court, even if the courst orders to hang them, but not to kill them like this. All of this started when police killed unanimously and randomly over 600 persons in the North, I am sure that many of their families, relatives and friends became really Boko Haram members |
Fhemmmy:That makes more sense, you are not alone in market and it doesnt happen that all traders agree at time of specific increment in price. Sometimes, others would be waiting such opportunity to push competitiors out. Unstability kills business, that is what CBN must understand |
Is it when I want to buy?! 2.5% is toooo muchI knew that xmass period Naira used to fall down but I was hoping not this time |
@ poster pls have you Succeeded in your search, pls I am looking too for such small company that can provide me cartons with less cost Thanks |
Fhemmmy: PRD:Thanks, It is still in the range. Buying price 158.5N and selling 161-162N |
Quantkool: |
Fhemmmy:Thanks for the info, the rate is still in the range, pray God not more |
Mr. President Investors do not run away from Nigeria because of Boko Haram as they have not run from Egypt 1980s 1990s when there was the Islamist Terrorists, or run away from India after Bombay’s terrorist attack. But they run away from Nigeria because of the corrupted System that can drain their budget without achieving or gaining anything, the most corrupted customs in the world, the lake of reliable infrastructure ….etc Nigeria gets only that one kind of investors who are ready to cooperate with corruption, or has political protection by one of the big boys, yet the nation doesn’t get benefit of one Kobo. Can anyone tell me what is the gain of having international standard store like Shoprite while it imports 95% of the goods from South Africa despite the fact that there are similar products that are produced or assembled in Nigeria. Calling the real investors needs more than talking |
Seun: Answer: insufficientIn everything and all the meaning of the word Months ago, wanted to post something to sell, after I finished, an automatic message showed saying that the selling post will be reviewed and published after 30 DAYS. I never opened the site again |
@ stagger You are welcome, Thank God that made me useful to you, and made you smart to use what is written in good way Cheers ![]() |
Fhemmmy:You r welcome Sir, thanks for the compliment, Baraka (blessinges) of Sallah (EID - Fiest) to everybody |
stagger:I think you sold Dollars at that rate. It is holiday and the mallams used to drop it under the CBN rate and sell above the normal black market rate, even saturdays and sundays This rate is only for the holiday |
stagger: D_BestDoc:I think you have just got the answer. The CBN didnt didnt add 5 naira, the former bond of the CBn was 3%+/- 150 to Dollar. Then the CBN announced increasing the bond to 4% +/- 150 naira to dollar. The last Official rate was about 154 then it became 155 - 156. Is it 5 naira difference? So I dont think the black market will just jump up especially that the recent procedures reduced the presures on the demand of Dollars through CBN window I am just trying to be optimistic |
I think this is good news, at least there is no intention to push it further |

lol
the hell no, absolutely not.
Anyway, in November 2008 USD jumped from 118 to 135, it didnt stop till reached 186 in the first quarter of 2009 and the official rate became 150s
