What Are The Top 5 Things You Learned This Year?

3. Not all your friends need to be forever-friends. Some people are just meant to be your friend for that particular time in your life.

4. Social media makes people think they're more important than they really are.

5. I can cut some people off of my life & still wish the best in their lives. Their failures, heartaches & setbacks do nothing for me personally.

Funny Stuff.

I mowed the lawn today, and after doing so

I sat down and had a cold beer.

The day was really quite beautiful, and the drink facilitated some deep thinking.

My wife walked by and asked me what I was doing,

and I said, "Nothing."

The reason I said "nothing" instead of saying "just thinking" is because she then would have asked, "About what?"

At that point I would have had to explain that men are deep thinkers about various topics, which would lead to other questions.

Finally I pondered an age old question: Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the nuts?

Women always maintain that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts, but how could they know?

Well, after another beer, and some more heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with an answer to that question.

Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby, and even though I obviously couldn't really know, here is the reason for my conclusion:

A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, "It might be nice to have another child."

But you never hear a guy say, "You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts."

I rest my case.

Time for another beer. Then maybe a nap.

5. Some people are like ads, just skip them.

6. Dating is as much about choosing the person as being chosen.

7. Faking a smile is easier than explaining why you’re sad.

8. Cheating is a choice, not a mistake.

9. Sitting alone and enjoy your own company is better than being surrounded by fake people.

10. Your apology needs to be as loud as your disrespect was.

11. Loving does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.

12. Healing is about accepting, not forgetting.

Why Is Keanu Reeves So Great?

I know that the ones who love us, will miss us.”

This is what Keanu said when Stephen Colbert asked him what happens to us when we die.

He understands misery unlike anybody else in Hollywood.

His dad left when he was 3. He struggled with dyslexia, attending 4 different high schools before dropping out. His best friend died of a drug overdose at 23. His girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, had a stillbirth 8 months into pregnancy. She later died in a car accident not too long after.

Even with his hardships, he hasn’t let his success get to his head.

He helped his sister get cured of leukemia, and since then has donated an anonymous amount of money to hospitals that treat the disease through his private charitable foundation.

He’s worth over a couple hundred million dollars, but he still takes the subway.

He doesn’t really have many fancy things.

It is rumored that he gave up a considerable portion of his pay for the latter two Matrix films so that the stunt and design and costume teams could help make the movie as amazing as possible.

Many sources claim the amount he cut from his own pay ranged just a touch above $30 million.

When his flight had an emergency landing enroute to Los Angeles in Bakersfield, he not only opted to rent a large vehicle and drive the rest of the way, but he took a good number of people on the flight with him.

He’s known for paying attention to detail—there is a story about him on Twitter where he bought an ice cream just to get the receipt paper so he could autograph it for a fan. He later tossed that ice cream away.

He is one of the few actors who gets to know everybody working on the set of his projects. Several accounts of him genuinely asking people about their day and wellbeing. There is a photo of him taking a break from filming John Wick 2 just to walk a pit bull in New York City:

He treats everybody with the same amount of kindness. This means everyone:

Someone on Reddit recalled a friend who was stranded on the highway outside Los Angeles. Keanu Reeves pulled up, tried to jump the car to no success, and then drove her 50 miles out of the way to get her home. Not only that, he gave her his number to call in case she needed help with anything.

When he found out one of the crew members on the set of John Wick was struggling, he gave him $20,000 as a Christmas bonus.

There is another story of him giving every member of his stunt team for The Matrix a Harley Davidson.

Keanu just loves.

He is love incarnate.

There is no additional component to his character. He’s stayed the same human throughout the worst and the best in his life. He’s pure.

And people see that.

What Are Some Things You Realized When You Got Matured?

1)It’s better to keep silent. In some situations when you explain people more, it doesn’t help. The more you explain, the more they will suspect you. Nowadays, people don’t like to get more explanation, it’s better to stay quiet when you know the other is not ready to understand.

2) Social media is useless. When you are a child you don’t know the value of time and waste lots of your time on social media, but when you realize the value of the time you stop wasting your precious time on social media. Stop or limit using those apps before you realize the fact.

3) Friends are not important. Friends are good to have but don’t give that much because you make friends at each stage of your life, your that stage will complete, you’ll move on and they too. But don’t get upset if you all move on, just remember the memories you had with them and smile that it did happen.

4) It’s OK to be misunderstood. It’s OK if people don’t understand you, you owe no explanation to anyone. It’s is common to be misunderstood, you are not here to make everyone understand you, but to understand yourself.

5) It’s OK to make mistakes. No one is perfect in this world and mistakes don’t mean you are failures. Mistakes tell you to do better next time. Life doesn’t come with instructions so it’s fine if you have made mistake. It’s OK to have a bad day, be less than perfect. You will be still you. These are some of the things you realized when you got mature or by your life experience.

6) Crying doesn’t make you weak. Crying is the symbol of inner strength, it is the only thing that is heavy yet makes you feel lighter. It doesn’t have to be considered as a weakness. Things you realize when you got mature is Crying itself is a form of strength. A strong person cries, then get up and fight again.

Rare Stories.

On September 25, 2000, 19-year-old Kevin Hines tried to kill himself by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. He fell more than 220 feet to the water below, slamming into it at 75 miles per hour.

The impact shattered three of his vertebrae and came within two millimeters of severing his spine — yet he somehow survived. And when he realized he was still alive, he was immediately overtaken by an overwhelming will to live.

However, the weight of his clothes kept dragging him down below the surface of San Francisco Bay. For what felt like an eternity, he barely managed to resurface for mere seconds at a time and breathe just enough air to cling to life. Then, he suddenly felt a strange force from below pushing him up above the water, where he stayed until the Coast Guard eventually came to get him.

Only later did he learn that eyewitnesses had seen the mysterious force that had been keeping him afloat: a sea lion that was propping up his body until the rescue boat arrived.

What Are The Lessons People Most Often Learn Too Late In Life?

1) You spend your first 20 years worrying what people think about you. You spend your next 20 years swearing that you don’t care what people think about you. You spend the next 20 years realizing that they aren’t thinking about you. A liberation!

2) Any day on this side of the dirt is a good day. Some people didn’t make the cut last night. I was hit by a speeding taxi as I was walking to a bus stop. I spent a month in rehab with two broken legs, a brain injury, multiple back injuries and other fractures. The night before I was hit, a young, married couple was also hit. They both died. Practice gratitude.

3) A woman I know spends most of her time thinking about how much she hates her thighs. She can give you a detailed report on what is wrong with them. She forgets all the places those legs have taken her, all the miles they have walked for her. It doesn’t occur to her that when she gets up in the middle of the night to pee, those very thighs walk her to the toilet. Spend more time appreciating what you’ve got— a heart that beats, a way to pick up your cup of coffee, the eyes that see that cup and know what color it is. Blessings abound.

4) There are two kinds of people in this world – those who believe there is enough to go around, and those who don’t. Here is an example: If Margo is leaning up against the car kissing her boyfriend, and I think how nice that must feel, do I try to steal Margo’s boyfriend or do I go out and get my own boyfriend? I go out and get myself a boyfriend. I don’t need to steal Margo’s. I know that there is enough to go around.

5) An old Native American woman was asked why she was always so happy. She said that she has two wolves in her heart and they are both hungry— one wolf is angry and evil, the other wolf is filled with love, and that's the only one she feeds.

What Makes People Likeable?

Princess Eugenie, granddaughter of the Queen of England, wore a dress on her wedding day that revealed a scar on her back after she underwent surgery to correct a spinal deformity (scoliosis) as a child. When she was asked: Why didn't she wear a dress to hide her surgical scars? Or why not undergo a cosmetic operation in which the scar is completely removed.

She replied: I studied in Newcastle and got my degree with flying colors. I can speak 3 languages. And you're talking about the repercussions of an old operation. One should only be proud or ashamed of what is on their mind. In nothing else. I also did it to thank the paramedics and encourage the girls not to be ashamed of the aesthetic flaws of their bodies.

Your true beauty lies in your morality, humanity, and kindness.

What Is Something You Will Never Understand?

I don't understand this ✓

I understand people like this , who don't respect their values but make others to do it .I don't understand people who can't treat other people equally

Men who had many girlfriends in the past want a virgin bride .They want to get laid every single day but want a wife who never saw another man in her life .

Real men are who make sure that their other half is getting equal opportunities no matter the outcome.

I don't understand people who don't believe in gender equality .

If you can do it , why can't she ?
If you can drive , why can't she ?
If you can go to beaches , why can't she ?
If you can make decisions ,why can't she ?
If you are important , why can't she be important ?
If you can wear something , why can't she ?
I don't understand people , who can't treat other people equally.

What Are Some Of The Dark Lessons That Life Showed You?

By Dilki Dissanayake.

01.

Stop holding onto people, just because you have a history together.

02.

Accept people as they are, but place them where they belong.

03.

The day you let go of the people you've been pointlessly holding onto, is the day your life gets a whole lot better.

04.

Sometimes growth requires new company, new friends and new mindsets.

05.

Some disconnections will bless your life.

06.

Sometimes you block your own blessings, by telling everyone your business.

07.

A lot of people become unattractive, once you find out how they think.

08.

Most people will show you who they really are by mistake. Pay close attention.

This is too good not to share. I asked a friend who has crossed 70 & is heading towards 80 what sort of changes he is feeling in himself? He sent me the following:

1. After loving my parents, my siblings, my spouse, my children and my friends, I have now started loving myself.

2. I have realized that I am not “Atlas”. The world does not rest on my shoulders.

3. I have stopped bargaining with vegetable & fruit vendors. A few pennies more is not going to break me, but it might help the poor fellow save for his daughter’s school fees.

4. I leave my waitress a big tip. The extra money might bring a smile to her face. She is toiling much harder for a living than I am.

5. I stopped telling the elderly that they've already told that story many times. The story makes them walk down memory lane & relive their past.

6. I have learned not to correct people even when I know they are wrong. The onus of making everyone perfect is not on me. Peace is more precious than perfection.

7. I give compliments freely & generously. Compliments are a mood enhancer not only for the recipient, but also for me. And a small tip for the recipient of a compliment, never, NEVER turn it down, just say "Thank You.”

8. I have learned not to bother about a crease or a spot on my shirt. Personality speaks louder than appearances.

9. I walk away from people who don't value me. They might not know my worth, but I do.

10. I remain cool when someone plays dirty to outrun me in the rat race. I am not a rat & neither am I in any race.

11. I am learning not to be embarrassed by my emotions. It’s my emotions that make me human.

12. I have learned that it's better to drop the ego than to break a relationship. My ego will keep me aloof, whereas with relationships, I will never be alone.

13. I have learned to live each day as if it's the last. After all, it might be the last.

14. I am doing what makes me happy. I am responsible for my happiness, and I owe it to myself. Happiness is a choice. You can be happy at any time, just choose to be!

I decided to share this for all my friends. Why do we have to wait to be 60 or 70 or 80, why can't we practice this at any stage and age?
