PoliticsWaiting For Minister Of Peter Obi Affairs on Trump issue by booblacain(op): 3:49pm On Jul 14, 2024
Waiting for Minister of Peter Obi Affairs, Reno Omokri, to complain that Peter Obi has not yet made condolence statement to Trump.

PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri Condemns Peter Obi For Not Congratulating Prof Wole Soyinka by booblacain(m): 7:04am On Jul 14, 2024
Godfullsam:
Obi, just like every other igbos is very predictable.

If I were him, I will shock everyone by celebrating WS on his birthday.

One of the greatest weapon of a good leader is to try as much as possible not to be predictable.

Once you lower yourself to the point where your next move is easily known, na see finish be dat!
Imagine Reno telling obi the qualities of a good leader. Na see finish pro max be dat!
Would you rather live with or trust an unpredictable person over a predictable person? Would you rather bestow your business or assets to be managed by the latter rathan than the former?

PoliticsEbonyi's Flight Of Fancy: Misplaced Priorities? by booblacain(op): 7:41am On Jul 08, 2024
I've noticed something significant about Ebonyi State and its people. For a long time, Ebonyi State has carried a stigma, often regarded as the most backward state in the East, seen as the underachiever and the "houseboy" of the region. This perception has unfortunately instilled an inferiority complex among the people of Ebonyi. When people feel inferior, they tend to go to great lengths to prove themselves, to show that they are just as capable or even better than others think.

This brings me to the recent announcement by the governor regarding the purchase of four passenger airplanes for Ebonyi State. This decision made me question its necessity. How many people travel in and out of Ebonyi State to justify such an investment? Ebonyi is known for its fertile lands; wouldn't it make more sense to invest that money into agriculture? Instead of passenger planes, why not buy cargo planes to transport agricultural produce to other parts of the country? Agriculture is a critical industry in Nigeria today, and such an investment would create more jobs for the youth in Ebonyi than passenger airlines ever could.

This move by the governor seems like a continuation of the same misguided priorities set by Umahi with the construction of the airport, which, in my opinion, was driven by the same inferiority complex I mentioned. There's nothing inherently wrong with having an airline, but there is a problem with having a wasteful one. It's crucial for the state to set its priorities right.
Foreign AffairsAnybody Can Congratulate The UK Prime Minister by booblacain(op): 1:09pm On Jul 05, 2024
Even you a "bloody civilian" can write a letter or make a public announcement congratulating the elected UK PM, so long as you are not a government official or employee. This is not North Korea.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi congratulates UK's PM-elect Starmer, Urges Collaboration With Nigeria by booblacain(m): 1:08pm On Jul 05, 2024
DeLaRue:
There is a protocol for doing these things.

You wait for the President of your country to issue a congratulatory message first. I am not sure the President has done that yet.

Rushing out to congratulate the new leader of a country where nobody knows you or think you are relevant is ridiculous.
Even you a "bloody civilian" can write a letter or make a public announcement congratulating the elected PM, so long as you are not a government employee. This is not North Korea.

BusinessRe: Interest Rate At 30% Will Stifle Growth, Hinder Job Creation - Dangote Warns CBN by booblacain(m): 6:37am On Jul 03, 2024
englishmart:
Dangote said Nigeria's import dependency is akin to importing poverty and exporting jobs" This is someone who only values foreign workers. I know of an abysmally inept Filipino mechanic who doesn't know 22 spanners but earns 5k dollars+ monthly. The site has over 50 workers but their cumulative salary is less than N5m monthly. Once your skin is light, you're an engineer even if you come from prison.
Dangote doesn't believe there are competent Nigerians, and that's why an Indian who doesn't know the difference between ampere and voltage is the head electrician to electrical engineers with decades of experience. The cement he produces almost free of cost is sold at a more expensive price in Naija than he sells in other countries on the continent.
He should stop crying. Nigeria doesn't revolve around him and Edwin
These foreigners may not be as knowledgeable as Nigerians, but they are usually more trust worthy. That is very vital to a business owner.

HealthWarning: Sniper In Your Food - What You Need To Know by booblacain(op): 11:27am On Jun 24, 2024
I saw on the other thread, where a lady confronted a Northerner for using sniper to preserve his fish. I was reading comments on the thread and noticed people shouting Aboki, Aboki. Forget that thing. It's not about Aboki anymore. This thing is everywhere. Everybody is doing it now. East, West, North, and South. Everybody is doing it. Go to the market now. It will shock you to know that most foodstuffs that you find in the market now are actually preserved with pesticides and sniper. These are very dangerous chemicals. That's what they are using to preserve foodstuffs now, especially fish products. These dry fish you are seeing.

If you look at beans these days in the market, you won't find a single weevil inside it, because they've used sniper to kill everything. These things are very, very dangerous for our health. It kills us fast. Very soon you'll be finding a lot more and more people in the hospital because the economic situation is forcing people to become very, very desperate now. So, it's almost like a pandemic that is coming. Even groundnut oils are now being mixed with engine oils to increase quantity. You wonder why people are dieing more of heart failures these days. It is sad.

It is even more sad that Government knows that this is happening. Government knows that these people are using pesticides to put in these foods, but they don't care. They do not care. They're just watching until it blows out. Wickedly waiting until a newsworthy disaster happens. That is when they will jump in and start acting like super heros for political gain.

So, people be careful what you buy out there and government, do something now before it's too late.

Okoroawusa:
Politics is not for the weak. It's for those willing to align, realign, cajole, play the fool, negotiate, renegotiate, and all for it.
You don't blackmail, curse, abuse and terrorize to get political power. Neither it's offered to you on a platter of gold.

He that has ears let him hear.
mrvitalis:
Yes that's all you know politics

What about governance what is that about?
Okoroawusa, mrvitalis asked what I think is a sensible and pertinent question. Please answer. After all, politics is not what creats jobs or improves the economy, politics is not what builds a nation or exalts a people.

HealthRe: Using Sniper As Food Preservatives Can Cause Cancer, Death -NAFDAC by booblacain(m): 6:54am On Jun 05, 2024
So, now you've decided to address this issue—one that has been a common practice in the food market for who knows how long. Why don't you go into the markets, test all these foods, especially beans and other commonly preserved items, and arrest those found guilty of using harmful preservatives? That's how you stop it, not just by talking. Nobody cares if you just talk; nobody will listen. People are poisoning others with cancer-causing substances just to make money. Put sensitization aside for now; people are already aware. Go to the markets and arrest those responsible.

opeyemi2012:
I used to be a fan of Tinubu but this very action of his has made him lose my support. What is the essence of this anthem written by a Briton? Why was there no public hearing to accommodate the views of most Nigerians before rushing to pass and sign this old anthem into law? Is that our major problem now as a nation? I'm really disappointed
honestly, the issue is so baffling. The speed at which the thing passed through the usually sluggish assembly is what makes it even most mind bugging.
PoliticsLyrics Will Unite This Nation? by booblacain(op): 2:10pm On May 29, 2024
The great Bob Marley sang "One Love" till he went to his grave. The king of Pop Michael Jackon sang "Heal the world" the world until his throat got soar and he eventually went to the grave. Beautiful songs with beautiful lyrics, yet the world is still at war.

Yet, a man thinks that the lyrics of a song written by his oppressors is what will bring unity to a divided nation.

I don't know the type of string the west is pulling on the leadership of this nation, but they are pulling it real hard.

I've been using this for mr generator and I've never had issues with it, though most generators get used to the first oil used, when it was forst purchased...

I've sticked to the oil I'm using since the first day I bought my generator and I've never changed oil, even when the oil keeps increasing in price, I still stick to it...
Is your gen similar to mine? I noticed it is the same 20W-50.
