On January 25, top Nigerian comedian Bovi lost his mother Mrs. Margaret Ugboma to an undisclosed illness. She was reported to have passed on to glory at the age of 58-years old and survived by children and grandchildren.
Ever since the ace comedian has been on a low-key as he has been trying to morn his mother, as well as been traveled back home in order to make preparations so as to give his mother a befitting burial.

Amidst tears, Delta state Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, ace Nigerian comedians Ali Baba, Julius Agwu and wife, Basket mouth among others gathered to give Bovi’s mother a befitting burial on Saturday, March 12, in his home town.
At 10am, the funeral service of late Mrs. Margaret Ugboma took place at St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Oleh and interment followed at No. 5 Agbara Layout, opposite Eboh Hotel, Oleh. Also, Bovi treated his guests at Isoko Central School field, Oleh Delta state. On Sunday, March 13, there would be an Outing/Thanksgiving service in honor of his late mother at All Souls Anglican Church, Idheze Road, Irri.

The Northern Regional chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party, Daniel Bugri Naabu says he will donate the controversial vehicle he claimed to have received from president John Mahama to charity.
The vehicle he alleged was a bribe given to him by the ex-president to resign from the party and to malign the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo.
In an interview with Joy News' Elton John Brobbey the NPP chair was however silent on what he will do with the alleged Ȼ500,000.00 he claimed to have received from the ex-president as part of the incentive to carry out the plot to embarrass the NPP leader who is now president of Ghana.
On November 29, 2016, eight days to the crucial 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections, the NPP held a press conference, addressed by Mustapha Hamid, during which he accused then president John Mahama and his brother Ibrahim Mahama, of bribing the Northern Regional Chairman of the party to resign from the NPP and portray him as an ethnic bigot and an anti-northern person.
As part of the plot, Hamid claimed Bugri Naabu, in an October 28, 2016 meeting with the president was promised a brand new V6 Mitsubishi, a brand new V8 Landcruiser and an amount of ¢3.3 million if he were to play ball.

He alleged that as part of the ex-president's commitment to following through with the plot gave the NPP chair, a reputable contractor, a brand new Mitsubishi Pajero and an amount of Ȼ500,000.00.

Naabu agreed to go along with the plot and was given the booty only to breach the code of silence and report the case to his party's flagbearer.
Hamid produced pictures of the vehicle as well as documents covering the vehicle as proof of his allegations.
The documents showed that the vehicle was transferred to Bugri Naabu by Malin Investment, a company owned by Hawa Mahama and Frank Alomasor, personal assistant to the ex-president.
The ex-president is yet to confirm or deny the allegations made against him and his brother.
At a ceremony to announce new Regional Ministers at the Flagstaff House, Bugri Naabu told Elton Brobbey he has decided to give the vehicle to charity.
"I cannot comment much but I think we are going to give it to charity. We are not going to use that car," he said.
He added that he will work closely with the Northern Region Minister designate to ensure there is peace in the Northern Region.

Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state says Nigeria is a knocked Vehicle and the attention should be on fixing the engine, not changing the drivers of the economy.

Obi also said 2017 may not be better than 2016, if the country continues addressing the current economic situation, the same way it would address a robust economy.

“For me, I dont think (the economy will be better in 2017) because I have not seen the attention that is required for the situation we find ourselves,” Obi told CNBC Africa.

“Where we are now is like having a car with which has an engine knock, and we are still busy talking about changing the driver. There is no engine in place; even if you bring in the best driver in the world, he is not going to move the car.

“We need to talk about how do we fix the engine of this vehicle, and that engine is the economy. Until we fix it, then we can talk about the driver, whether there is a good driver or bad driver.”

He called on leaders in the country to bury their political divides and deal with the country’s crisis as a survival strategy.

“Considering where we are, we need to have in all these sectors, crisis manager to deal with the situation, We need to pull everybody together, its no longer a party matter, it is no longer a political matter, it is a survival matter.

“It’s not time to trade blames, it’s not time to trade blames, its not time to dwell in yesterday. If you look at our headlines in our newspapers, the quality of discourse is low, we are still chasing shadows.

He said the economy and the security of Nigerians should be at the top of national discourse.

Obi added that Nigeria is a country that would double her population in 30 years, and nobody is thinking of how to prepare for tomorrow.

Early this week, singer Harrysong, announced his exit from label, Five Star music,launching his music label, ‘Alter Plate’ all in same stride.

During his interview with TheCable Lifestyle, Harrysong, opened up about his time with Five Star music, making it known that he wrote most of the songs that came out of the label.

In his words:

“I have learnt all through the years from Question mark to Five Star, my contract expired at Five Star expired and I progressed to open Altar Plate, there is no beef or quarrel. This is what I want to do and I am doing it.


“When I was signed under Five Star, I wrote majority of the songs but my departure from Five Star does not mean that it would crumble.



“They have talented people like Kcee, Skibii and Xbusta. I came in with my own sound and I have left with my sound. They have their own sound and they will go with that.”

On his new company, he clearly stated that Five Star music will have no part whatsoever in it.

“Five Star is not contributing Altar Plate, this is all about Harrysong. We have our website and our social media platform to keep fans updated about our activities.



“There is no possibility of returning to Five Star. My contract has expired and I have started Altar Plate so there is no going back but I will always appreciate them. If I am called upon to do anything, maybe write a song, I will.

On new signees especially female singers, the ‘Reggae Blues’ crooner, said he might be signing one when needed.

“We have female artistes that are doing well in the industry, a lot of them and maybe I will try one as we progress. If we need one, we will get one.”
