Hi guys. I need a little guidance here please.( I havent read the last couple of pages so I do not know if it's been treated).
1. I am an ITA hopeful in today's draw.
2. My passport expires in September but I already did a renewal. Unfortunately there are no booklets so I am yet to collect it. I am hopeful that it would be ready by month end though.
3. I was trying to book for medicals but my passport number was requested. Hence I put that on hold.
4. I believe my EE profile contains my current passport number( cant remember but I want to think we had to fill it in while opening a profile)

What would you advice I do?
1. Go ahead to book medicals with the current passport which expires in Sept? If yes, wouldn't I need to change my passport as some before PPR? Wouldn't that drag my application timeline?

2. Wait for the new passport then do my medicals? If yes, the the passport number wont tally with what is in my EE profile. Can I just open my profile and change it ?( am always very wary of going near my profile so I dont mistakenly change anything).

Please I would appreciate clarity on this.

Thanks in advance.

P.s. I got the Alberta nomination smiley

Thanks...hopefully tomorrow. Good luck everyone. We will get ITA...one way or another.
amaya21:
Congratulations. This is really fast! It appears Alberta has sped up. I guess you should be getting ITA with the next batch.

CoolGuyB:
Double WOW!

Congratulations, @BootyliciousHon!

This is the real EXPRESS ENTRY - you got the Alberta NOI on 5th March and the provincial nomination has landed 16th April.

All the very best with the rest of the process.

Hi all, seems I will no longer be needing TEF. Just got a provincial nomination. Bonne chance à tous!
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 1:21am On Apr 02, 2019
Question asked was " have you ever been refused admission to or ordered to leave Canada or any other country or territory?"

I got an NOI from Alberta and that was the question I was asked. I have the forms saved on my system so I went back to check. I guess it's slightly different from the post ITA forms. Am still pre-ITA
quote author=Stencil post=77185158]How different? Could you please elaborate? These are the exact questions asked to everyone. I copied and pasted from the Post ITA questions.[/quote]
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 9:42pm On Apr 01, 2019
Seems the questions I was asked were slightly different from what you posted...
Stencil:
You have to declare visa refusals for both you and your spouse. I posted the statutory questions here. Which one did you answer no to?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 8:35am On Apr 01, 2019
NOC 1241. 3 years work experience. No ties to Alberta whatsoever. I guess they just pick from the pool.
captainhoo:
@joo2018 @ifeoma77

I don't know the answer to your question but if you don't mind I'm interested in how you got the NOI. What is your NOC and how many years of experience did you claim points for in your profile.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon:
Please I need advice, I got an NOI from Alberta sometime In March. In my mind i had filled everything correctly and submitted. I woke up this morning to read up on the thread only to realise that among the statutory questions was if you had been denied Visa to Canada or any other country before.i didnt see the any other country part. Cos when I was seeing illegal and all that I had ticked no to all the question for both I and my spouse. Reading it now here I remember my husband was once denied us Visa...interviewer didnt understand the triaining he was going for...though he was later given. What should I do now? I dont want to lose this nomination. How my eyes did not see that question is still a mystery to me cos i thought i double checked everything.

I know i shouldn't have been filling those forms at night embarassed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Update: that wasnt the question inward asked. Question asked was " have you ever been refused admission to or ordered to leave Canada or any other country or territory?" Phew!

I pray you get the result you desire this time. I didnt sit for the exams today as I had thought...a number of things have happened. For now am looking at June...it depends on what Alberta says...
Mamaroon:
Merci mes amis !

Enfin...c'est fini

CE - was a repetition of my NOV exam ! I think they recyle this stuff sometimes...then again they are probably not expecting repeat customers like me !

CO.....was ok...audio quality was good....tried to focus on messages...they said they will have headsets when they move to the new place in ikoyi

EE - write your opinion on "tourism makes all countries similar" (letter) my crammed intro and conclusion worked ...une biche ran into a store chased by a group. ..the clients decided to shelter it...complete the story (fait divers)...I didn't know what biche was.....hmmm...i rambled

EO - we discussed afterwards and ppl had different ones. Mine was to call and ask questions about a new restaurant where you eat meals blindfolded....then section B I had to convince the examiner to join a gym...she had all the excuses in the world...even told me she has heart problems.....imagine! I didn't know the words for treadmill but I waffled.

Thanks for all your encouragement and tips guys !

Meanwhile etrange is right about the space between words and exclamation and question marks....noticed it in the last section of CO

April, June...peeps...Courage !

I think the reason why AF would tell a beginner that they would need 6-9months to be able to pass is so that you would have been taught up to at least the B2 level. And that's if you go with the weekday classes. With added effort one can be sure to pass the exams at 1 sitting.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 1:45pm On Mar 06, 2019
Primary school knowledge. Stated classes at alliance francaise. You can get more info on the TEF thread
olamse:
Pls do u have prior knowledge in French before commencing with the classes and do learn on your own?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 1:44pm On Mar 06, 2019
Thanks. Wanted to be sure I can renew now since I still have 6 months on my passport
Ramj:
Wrong move no visa would be issued on passport with less then 6 months validity.
Renew the passport now.

Je m'appelle Renew

True that
DanMisla:
Seems you have nothing to lose...
wink
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 5:34am On Mar 06, 2019
Hi everyone. If pre ITA one has 6 months left on their passport, is it ok to renew the passport then? Or is it compulsory to work with the passport details used when an EE profile was opened?
Cos am thinking that even if one gets PPR within 4 months, you cant travel with just a month left on your Visa right?

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 12:09am On Mar 06, 2019
No fee required to apply
ontarioissauga:
Move on with this pnp, buddy. Km still searching for the processing fee.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 12:01am On Mar 06, 2019
Yes I do
ontarioissauga:
But you have it on your profile anway .. I meant the French test?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 11:49pm On Mar 05, 2019
Yeah. I plan continuing with my French anyway. NOC is 1241 if am not mistaken.
@Debsify:this will be much second TEF attempt. The first didn't give me the golden 30 extra points I wanted.
ontarioissauga:
If you ask me, keep learning French but follow this pnp. NOC?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 11:25pm On Mar 05, 2019
Am to just send a mail to Alberta govt. Showing the NOI letter, my EE number and one other number( cent recall now) then I will be sent the form to fill and I think all the details will be stated there
Meewasin:
Please check what they need on their website and grab it with both hands. Congrats
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 11:23pm On Mar 05, 2019
Lol. Am just confused. It hit me quite suddenly to be honest. I always followed this thread but never looked the PNP route...so am trying to process it all. Was already preparing to write TEF this March. I just changed my mind to do it in April just this morning.
Debsify:
what are you waiting for to accept it?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 11:20pm On Mar 05, 2019
I really cant remember but I think I must have selected all the provinces. I know my profile didn't have me specifying anything or having any preference
ontarioissauga:
Did you select them or all provinces when creating the profile? Congratulations. Grab it!
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 11:18pm On Mar 05, 2019
I do not have a Canadian degree. Just a regular Nigerian with a CRS of 420
Meewasin:
Congratulations to you.
Did you obtain any degree from Canada? I asked because I heard they go for people with Canadian education.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by BootyliciousHon: 11:07pm On Mar 05, 2019
My CRS is 420. Never applied to Alberta before. Am very much in Nigeria. I have 2 weeks to reply. Is there anyone with info or who can guide me pls? I went to the CIC website to read up...apparently it's the Alberta Express entry stream.
