An up-and-coming Brooklyn rapper arrested on conspiracy and weapons charges will serve seven years after reaching a plea deal on Friday. Bobby Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, pleaded guilty before his trial on Monday in the Manhattan Supreme Court, where he faced the possibility of serving up to 25 years if convicted. The 22-year-old Shmoney Dance hit-maker was arrested in December 2014 on conspiracy, reckless endangerment and gun possession charges and remained behind bars for nearly two years on $2million bond. Shmurda appeared in court on Friday along with his friends Chad Marshall and Nicholas McCoy, who accepted the same deal. After a fixed seven year sentence, Shmurda will be on probation for another five years, the New York Daily News reports. Shmurda was arrested after leaving a recording studio near Radio City Music Hall on December 17, 2014. Police found two handguns and a small amount of crack cocaine in a car the three friends were riding in, authorities said. A 15-person indictment named Shmurda as the leader of the G Stone Crips, also known as GS9, whose members were charged with 69-counts including murder, attempted murder, assault and drug dealing. The gang left one rival dead outside a Brooklyn bodega, and injured an innocent bystander sitting on a folding chair outside a home, according to the police. The GS9 members were cited in various shootings in New York City as well as a Miami, Florida nightclub, authorities said. Police also seized 21 guns during the investigation. The 22-year-old has also been hit with charges of conspiracy to commit murder in a separate case after he allegedly tried to sneak a knife into Rikers Island with the help of a woman believed to be his girlfriend. Shmurda has also filed a false-arrest lawsuit in response to a separate incident in June, after police knocked on the door of his friend's home. The suit claims the cops didn't have a search warrant and mocked him by singing his lyrics during the arrest. Shmurda's criminal history included two arrests for gun and drug possession, authorities said. Source: https://bossmeek..com |
The Ogun State Police Command yesterday, said it had rearrested Mr. Joe Chinakwe, who named his pet dog Buhari, noting that the suspect would be arraigned in court on Monday. It also stated that Chinakwe, who was earlier released a few days ago, was picked up again based on its belief that the suspect’s action was capable of provoking an ethnoreligious crisis. Saturday Vanguard had exclusively reported the three-day detention and subsequent release of the 30-year old after the intervention of the Serkin Hausa and President-General of non-indigenes in the state. He was taken into custody after one of his neighbours, who was later found out to be a Nigerien complained that the dog was named after his father, Alhaji Buhari. It was learned that the prompt intervention of the elders made the complainant to withdraw the case at Sango-Ota Division. Police sources had earlier told Vanguard that upon his release, the father of two, who hails from Ukwunzu in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State and the complainant were made to sign an undertaking not to cause any breach of peace. Renowned Nollywood actress and evangelist, Eucharia Anunobi says her new life in Christ does not stop her from acting. The movie icon, who said she repented 19 years ago, told the Sun she will accept any movie roles given to her anytime, including the role of a prostitute. The Imo state-born said, “While you are seeing me as a movie legend, all the years you have been seeing ‘act all the actable’. I am still acting because I have not left my talent. This is my own definition of being born again. Born again means you have realised and discovered that you were living a life of sin, but now, you want to live a life that would please God. “As an evangelist, I will still accept scripts like Ashawo (Prostitute). If they give me the one of Ashawo, I will do. But then, I’m not going to smoke, because I don’t smoke in real life, and I’m not going to drink. I can simulate, for instance, like in drinking, but then, I might not wear clothes that will reveal parts of my body. “I can still act the role of an armed robber,” Eucharia, currently serving as an evangelist at a church in Egbeda, Lagos state said, recalling a movie she played with Patience Ozorkwo (aka Mama G), where they robbed a bank and fully armed with AK-47. Continuing, the ‘Abuja Connection’ act talked about how her colleagues relate with her after she became born again. She said, “I remember years ago when I gave my life to God, my colleagues were laughing at me. ‘Your mates are busy doing aristo, your mates are busy seeing governors, your mates are busy going to the clubs in Victoria Island, Ikeja, and everywhere, you sey na church you wan go’. “They used to say that ‘something is wrong with Eucharia’. ‘Can you imagine with all her degrees, and doctorate in waiting, na to go church?’ But today, by the grace of God, where I sit they can’t sit; where I go they can’t go. I sit with governors and presidents not for aristo, and not for someone to take me to a corner of a room to sleep with me. “I am not among the superstars they would say, ‘that one get good shape, go corner her for hotel for me’ and they come and meet you only in the night. They don’t need to take me to any corner of the room through Personal Assistant. “They call me to the lobby of the governor or president’s chapel to pray and declare the word of God Almighty. And when I am done, they shake my hands and say, ‘lay hands on me,” the 51-year-old movie star added. Source http://bossmeek..com |
Nigerian actress, Aisha Shaba, says the last thing she would do is fight over a man. The Tinsel starlsaid Nigerian men have broken her heart several times. Speaking with the Sun, Shaba said, “No matter how much I love a man, no. Never! I can never fight over him. “I have no business with any lady my man decides to move on with. I believe moving to another relationship is the decision a guy makes and I have to respect him for that and just walk away. I have never fought over a man and never will. “My heart has been broken several times by Nigerian boys, but that shouldn’t stop one from loving again. We can’t help it sometimes. I love to love. I like smart guys, handsome, tall, and intelligent; and of course God fearing. My guy should love to read and also very ambitious,” the light skinned thespian added. Source: http://bossmeek..com |

– Militants’ surrendering comes after serious bombardment by the military – Spokesperson makes fresh demand from the federal government – Nigerian military say the bombardment shall not end until all militants surrender Militants who invaded parts of Lagos and Ogun states have reportedly surrendered to the firepower of the Nigerian military, Saturday Sun reports. This news is coming after the military had bombarded Arepo area of Ogun and some parts of Lagos killing about 19 militants and leaving many others injured The Sun reports that a man identified as Honourable Omomoh, who posed as the general secretary, Forest Soldiers and Adaka Boro Last Born, informed that his group only wants disarmament, reconciliation and reintegration which was agreed with the government. According to the man who was said to have spoken via a telephone conversation, as soon as their arms are collected by the government, “all these issues of criminality will not be the order of the day. We are going to secure everywhere. “We were expecting the disarmament and surprisingly, we heard that the meltdown of the economy affected the budget of the Amnesty Office, and that there is no money, that we should be calm. “We have been calm for a while but suddenly, what we saw yesterday (Thursday) was bombardment; bombarding the camps with Air Force warplane in which children and women died. “They dropped five bombs in Arepo area, Elepete, Abuloba in Isawo area and at the same time in Ibafo end. We lost 19 persons and 10 others sustained injuries.” The group’s spokesperson however, absolved them of blame on the issue of kidnapping as he averred that they were only vandals and not kidnappers. He said: “We have been assisting the government concerning some kidnappers. We discovered that because of the numbers of ammunition in the possession of people, before you know, two or three will conspire and commit crime. “But we don’t want all that. We want peace in the country, we want peace in the Niger Delta, and we want peace in the South West. So, what we are interested in is the disarmament that we agreed upon.” The military has also vowed to continue with the bombardment as it stated that it had deployed more arsenal to the creeks of Lagos and Ogun while maintaining that the aerial bombardment which started on Thursday afternoon will not end until the militants hiding there surrender. Rear Admiral Ferguson Bobai, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) western Naval command, stated on Friday that, “We are going to sustain the operation and we are going to dismantle vandals’ shanties scattered in the area.” He noted further that the efforts to clear vandals from Arepo area of Ogun state remains a joint operation involving the DSS, NSCDC and the Fire Service Department. The bombardment, according to Bobai, “was a directive from the Defence Headquarters and the need to bombard the area came following repeated pipeline vandalisation, kidnapping and armed robbery. “Just last month, the military and component of the operation, code named Operation Awatse got directive from the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin to take drastic action in Arepo area with a view to dismantling vandals camps and shanties scattered at Arepo, Ibafo, Ishawo axis.” In a related development, three militant groups in the Niger Delta region have backpedalled on their earlier decision not to allow the Niger Delta Dialogue and Contact Group (NDDCG) to represent them in the ongoing dialogue with the federal government. According to Vanguard, the groups which have now agreed to be included in the dialogue are; Reformed Egbesu Boys of the Niger Delta, Egbesu Red Water Lions and Egbesu Mightier Fraternity. Confirming their part in the dialogue, the leadership of Reformed Egbesu Boys of Niger Delta in an electronic mail on behalf of other affiliate groups, said: “A fortnight ago, we responded to this subject matter wherein we stated emphatically that the Niger Delta Dialogue and Contact Group had no mandate to negotiate on our behalf in respect of the renewed hostilities against oil and gas facilities.” Source http://bossmeek..com |

– President Buhari says he is not out to humiliate anybody with his fight against corruption – He said those that loot the country’s money will return it – He promised that things will get better in the country soon President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his reason for fighting corruption was to bring justice and fairness to all. The president denied the notion that the anti-corruption war was meant to embarrass or humiliate anyone. This was made known by Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant on media to the president at a meeting with the council of Abuja Imams at the State House on Thursday, July 28. President Muhammadu Buhari He urged religious leaders to carry messages of hope to the people as he was aware of how bad things were but assured that things will improve. He urged religious leaders in the country “to keep calming the people. The leadership at various levels is trying to solve problems of poverty, unemployment and insecurity bedeviling the country.” The president insisted that anybody who has stolen Nigerian’s fund will be forced to return it. On the issue of diversification, the president said he has given priority to agriculture as this would provide food security and also provide jobs to unemployed citizens. To key into this, the President requested state governments and community leaders across the country to organize the population into cooperative societies, stressing that “extension services, not money will be provided.” The president also said there were efforts to improve electricity in the by bringing investments from China and some friendly countries that “indicated willingness in developing the proposed Mambila and other hydro-electric power projects in the country.” He said the move made by the government is expected to bring peace and stability to the Niger Delta region. Dr. Tajudeen Mohammed Bello Adigun commended the president for his fight against terrorism and corruption and urged him to also look into developing the health sector and unemployment. Digital technology and smartphones in particular have transformed many aspects of our society, including how people seek out and establish romantic relationships. Few Americans had online dating experience when Pew Research Center first polled on the activity in 2005, but today 15% of U.S. adults report they have used online dating sites or mobile dating apps. Here are five facts about online dating: 1 Online dating has lost much of its stigma, and a majority of Americans now say online dating is a good way to meet people. When we first studied online dating habits in 2005, most Americans had little exposure to online dating or to the people who used it, and they tended to view it as a subpar way of meeting people. Today, nearly half of the public knows someone who uses online dating or who has met a spouse or partner via online dating – and attitudes toward online dating have grown progressively more positive. To be sure, many people remain puzzled that someone would want to find a romantic partner online – 23% of Americans agree with the statement that “people who use online dating sites are desperate” – but in general it is much more culturally acceptable than it was a decade ago. 2. Online dating has jumped among adults under age 25 as well as those in their late 50s and early 60s. The share of 18- to 24-year-olds who use online dating has roughly tripled from 10% in 2013 to 27% today. Online dating use among 55- to 64-year-olds has also risen substantially since the last Pew Research Center survey on the topic. Today, 12% of 55- to 64-year-olds report ever using an online dating site or mobile dating app versus only 6% in 2013. One factor behind the substantial growth among younger adults is their use of mobile dating apps. About one-in-five 18- to 24-year olds (22%) now report using mobile dating apps; in 2013, only 5% reported doing so. 3. One-third of people who have used online dating have never actually gone on a date with someone they met on these sites . If you haven’t found quite what you’re looking for on an online dating site, you aren’t alone. Two thirds of online daters—66%—tell us that they have gone on a date with someone they met through a dating site or dating app. That is a substantial increase from the 43% of online daters who had actually progressed to the date stage when we first asked this question in 2005. But it still means that one-third of online daters have not yet met up in real life with someone they initially found on an online dating site. 4. One-in-five online daters have asked someone else to help them with their profile. Many online daters enlist their friends in an effort to put their best digital foot forward. Some 22% of online daters have asked someone to help them create or review their profile. Women are especially likely to enlist a friend in helping them craft the perfect profile—30% of female online daters have done this, compared with 16% of men. 5. 5% of Americans who are in a marriage or committed relationship say they met their significant other online. Despite the wealth of digital tools that allow people to search for potential partners, and even as one-in-ten Americans are now using one of the many online dating platforms, the vast majority of relationships still begin offline. Even among Americans who have been with their spouse or partner for five years or less, fully 88% say that they met their partner offline–without the help of a dating site. Human (national) development is about meeting and satisfying basic human needs and aspirations, protecting their freedoms and rights, minimising risks to their survival, enhancing human security, and empowering them to tap and maximise their potential. (Jega, 2010 Infrastructure is central to sustainable development and economic competitiveness of any nation. A nation without infrastructure is like a body without anatomy. Today, inadequate infrastructure is holding back Africa’s economic growth per capita by two per cent each year, and reducing firms’ productivity by as much as 40 per cent (ICA,2010). Sub-Saharan Africa is also lagging behind the rest of the world in its level of infrastructure development, thereby blocking the quick movement of goods and people on the continent and increased transport costs to as much as twice that in any typical Asian country (ICA, 2005). The largest deficit in infrastructure can be found in the power sector where only one in four Africans have access to electricity with about 30 African countries estimated to be experiencing regular blackouts due to power shortages. Even though firms struggle to cope by installing their own back-up generators, this costs three to four times as much as the cost of grid electricity. The 48 sub-Saharan African countries including Nigeria, with some 800 million people, produce collectively only about as much power as Spain, which has only 1/18th of the population (USAID, 2009).The lack of affordable and reliable power is cited by investors as the number one constraint to doing business in most African countries, Nigeria inclusive. Despite Africa’s great potential which includes clean energy resources such as hydropower, solar, wind, and geothermal, these problems continue to persist because investments in new facilities and maintenance of existing infrastructure have been woefully inadequate, leaving many African countries with degraded and inefficient electricity services; poor quality roads, railways, and ports; and an inadequate ICT backbone (USAID, 2009). Nigeria by its size and population of about 170 million bears at least 20 per cent of this burden, and the citizens are generally disillusioned with the level of development and distrusting of government because not much has been done in the provision of physical infrastructure 55 years after independence. It is a recurring decimal of pains that the country faces with poor road, water and sanitation conditions, inadequate electricity, gas, and fuel oil supply, leading to high use of solid fuels (fuel woods) especially for domestic chores. As reported by the World Health Organisation, Nigeria has the highest rate of deaths attributable to solid fuel use, at 79,000 annually and four per cent national burden of disease. The first power station in Nigeria was established by the Public Works Department in Lagos in 1896, with a capacity of 60MW, while the first private electricity company, Nigerian Electricity Supply Company was set up in 1929, with a capacity of 19MW. The scheme, a hydro-electricity plant on Kura Falls was originally meant to supply electricity to the Tin mines in Jos, but later extended its services to Bukuru, Jos Townships and Kafachan. In subsequent years, other exploitable hydro power sites with cumulative potential of over 12,000MW were identified. With 120 years of public sector experience, and 87 years of private sector, what is our story? The National Integrated Power Project scheme was designed as a fast-track Federal Government initiative to resolve the power supply problem in Nigeria, by expanding Generation, Transmission and Distribution capacities. The scheme was conceived in the late 2004 and implementation commenced in 2006 under the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo, but ran into a hitch shortly after the new administration of President Umaru Yar’Adua came on board in May 2007. The initial contentious issue was the legality of the funding process. The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission had instituted a legal action against the mode of utilisation of the proceeds of the excess crude account for the project. As the argument raged on, another controversy arose as to the actual expenditure on the project up to the time. Various amounts were bandied by officials of both the old and the new administration and the media was awash with all manner of sensational news and commentaries. The matter however came to a head when via a motion moved by the Minority Leader, the House of Representatives resolved to have its Committee on Power probe the entire project. President Yar’Adua, in deference to the House, ordered a stop to further fund disbursements to the project until the outcome of the probe. This decision created apprehension among the contractors, and work stopped for a long while until the resumption of payment to contractors and grant of a 70 per cent waiver on charges incurred on all longstanding containers belonging to the NIPP that were lying at the terminal for about three years. The NIPP is an amalgam of generation, transmission and distribution projects packaged as Engineering Procurement Construction contracts managed by the Niger Delta Power Holding Company incorporated by government for the purpose. The project at the outset, according to the Forum of NIPP Consultants and Contractors, engaged the services of a total of 108 consulting and contracting firms, including 34 consulting and 53 contracting Nigerian firms, with about 5000 Nigerian employees as of August 2007. Now, with this array of experts, how did it happen that feedstock, route reconnaissance and delineation issues were not addressed? How did it happen that the construction of Mambilla Dam with an assured 2,600MW, was not commenced immediately since it had a longer completion timeline, and the NIPP didn’t have all the time in the world? Today, we have quite some turbines that have not been cranked years after installation with attendant repercussions. Could all these and more be due to inadequate planning, negligence and poor management? Could it be due to the fact that the Niger Delta Power Holding Company is managed by a non-engineer? Are the consulting firms, multi-disciplinary partnerships or single family or sole businesses? Are they ACEN firm members? Are these questions even relevant? If not, what are the relevant questions? I engaged a number of important stakeholders and they had so much to say in hush voices. Certainly, engineering, not political questions, as happened in the House of Representatives, need to be asked now as to what really happened that we are where we are at. The bottom line however is that so much resources have been committed, but of what benefit to the generality of the people? This is the perception among a large segment of the society, and one cannot in good conscience discountenance their opinion. I believe that a technical audit of this project, spearheaded by ACEN is necessary to put paid to the controversies around the projects, learn lessons and develop more sustainable templates for future projects. There are about 200,000km of roads in Nigeria, and 36,000km belong to the Federal government. Of the latter, only about 30 per cent that are in good condition. The shares of the states and local governments are in terribly worse conditions. The issues here revolve around poor institutional arrangements. The Ministry of Works is combining policy formulation with implementation and this is proving Herculean. It is common knowledge that the ministry is the only one without fully enabled parastatals for implementation. The road sector bills have been on the table since 2008. They were eventually sent to the Seventh National Assembly but there isn’t enough interest in them yet. To be concluded Excerpts of a paper delivered by President, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Kashim A. Ali, in Abuja recently Source http://bossmeek..com |
British-born Nigerian actress, Beverly Naya has disclosed her take on premarital sex. She said despite the abstinence before marriage teaching given almost on a daily basis, she will have sex before marriage to test her man’s sexual capability . Speaking with Genevieve magazine, the actress noted that she does not want to end up with someone who cannot satisfy her sexually. She said, “I understand sex before marriage. “You don’t want to end up with someone who gives you bad sex. I can respect a guy’s decision to abstain, but why? I get it for religious reasons. “Ideally, I would love to abstain but I don’t want to be in a situation where the guy is impotent or can’t please me. I will resent him.” On her kind of man, Naya said, “I can’t stand potbellies and beyond the physical, someone who doesn’t know how to treat me like a lady. I have a fear of settling down with the wrong guy and I won’t deny it and that’s probably why I haven’t found that ideal guy yet. I know he will come. “I am very ambitious and I know where I am going so anyone I am going to marry has to be successful in some way so that when we do get married. I am not the one doing everything,” she added. Source: http://bossmeek..com

Sexual addiction is a state characterized by compulsive participation or engagement in sexual activity, particularly sexual intercourse, despite negative consequences. It’s one thing some Nigerians suffer from but may not admit it to themselves or anyone else. Here are the top cures Nigerians parents and family may perform if you confess you are a sex addict: 1. Send you to a pastor/man of God Sexual addiction is not something everyone understands and a religious family may look at it like you have welcomed the devil into your life. Your family may accept that your problem is out of their hands and only God can save you. Most likely, you already know the pastor they will send you too and that is the last person you will want to talk to, but your parents will still force you to go to them. Worse off, Nigerian people in confidential positions don’t always keep things between you both, so you already know whatever you confide in him will be topic of your next family meeting. 2. Beat the sexual addiction out of you Some parents believe they have healing hands and by the time they work on you, you will be cured of your issues. Even if you make your confession calmly or whisper it into a family member’s ear, people tend to react badly when given shocking news. Instead of welcoming you with non-judgmental open arms, your family might resort to a koboko or some slaps to bring sense back into your head. If someone cannot imagine themselves in the same situation you are in, they may think you are only trying to annoy them with your addiction and may resort to beating you until you say you are no longer a sex addict. 3. Disgrace/shame you in front of everyone You may disclose this information to a family member or parent in confidence and the next thing they will do is make it a main topic during a family meeting. Your addiction will be an open discussion and you will end up listening to everyone’s input or judgments. Any small thing you do after that, someone will comment how you are a sex addict. Their plan will be to cause you so much shame that you never engage in the act again to avoid a repeat of the embarrassment. 4. Ask you to leave the house/family Your family may tell you to leave their house or not come back to them with your problems. They would rather you stay with your addiction outside their four walls so they can pretend it doesn’t exist than for you to be suffering from it in their presence and they do not know how best to help you. 5. Take you to see a specialist Finally, if your addiction hasn’t improved or is getting worse, it may just be best to get you to see a specialist. Now, your family may not be there to hold your hand through it all but they might ask you on your progress and support you if you want to create awareness of it. After all, sex is not bad but an addiction can ruin your life and if you are looking to be cured, a little support will go a long way. YOUR TURN!! Feel free to add your tips and views, and let's hear your opinion on my own tips. http://bossmeek..nl/2016/07/5-ways-to-cure-sexual-addiction.html?m=0 |

Having a friend with benefits is one of the greatest perks of the modern age. You get all the physical and emotional health benefits of having regular sex, you keep your libido up between relationships, your self-esteem sky rockets, and you don’t have any of the emotional roller coasters of a real relationship. BUT, that’s only if you do things right. Here’s how: 1. Be honest about the relationship The number one rule that must be followed or else the FWB relationship simply cannot exist is being honestabout the fact that that’s what it is: a FWB relationship. Make sure nobody is secretly holding out until the other one falls in love. Make sure it’s understood that meeting the parents and trips to Ikea are not in the cards. 2. Set the boundaries Every FWB relationship is different. Figure out what works for you. Do you have to hang out before having sex? Or are booty-calls acceptable? I think its cool when your spend on your guy, if u say u truly love each other, I believe love shouldn't be one sided, and we are created to be helpmates of ourselves, man shouldn't shoulder the responsibility of spending alone. My humble opinion |
